Katherine Fairburne's name completely eludes Tam, but since she's the only one who has remained in her position for long while the others always switch around, he recognizes her easily enough. Staying in places is apparently her deal too, since she remained seated in the dunk tank after @marshall's throw. They may be friends, but let's be honest, that was kind of pitiful.

Tam has never been much for empathy. Some could call him cold for it, and some definitely have, but the fact of the matter is that just how a lot of things matter little to him, so do most people. Why would he worry about what others go through? How could he understand what he has never experienced himself? Attempting to relate to things beyond his experience and understanding sounds like a wasted effort to him.

And yet, when Marshall’s mood changes, he does notice it, and even though there’s initial silence when he starts explaining how the dome had affected him, this is not because of lack of interest. Some people do matter to him. Marshall had just mentioned his mother being sick and unable to leave his house, and remembering this makes Tam realise that he’s probably worried and he wishes to see his family.

”The League will find a way to get rid of the barrier, and you’ll go back to Unova and see your family.” He says, and when he does so, he’s completely calm, his tone lacking in any hesitation or doubt. But, that is to be expected from Tam, right?

What is perhaps a little more unexpected is the hand on Marshall’s shoulder, the light squeeze, and the faint smile Tam gives him.

She talks a lot, describing her travels, so Tam does no more than nod along from time to time, for he himself has never been of the talkative kind. His gaze wanders over the treeline, focusing on the nearby bushes when noticing the rustling of leaves and the slightest hint of crimson fur.

”Hmm.” Is the only sound he makes then, resting a hand on his Sandslash and gesturing towards the bushes in question. The pokémon, of course, is quick to act, shooting sharp ICICLE SPEARS that cause an injured Zorua to jump out. Since it’s injured, Tam decides to throw a pokéball despite it not being the sort of pokémon he’d usually go for.

It’s only then that he returns his attention to Shalin Nariya, who has now introduced herself as such.

”I’m Tam.” He says, short and simple in contrast with her introduction, giving himself no titles at all. As for what he’s doing here…

The realization that he had just missed out on the chance to dunk @marshall is almost a shame in Tam's eyes, and maybe the appropriate thing to do as his friend would be to seek revenge against the one responsible or something like that.
