"There are a few ways the DRK Triad seem to consistently enter Hoenn," she continued. "The Unown that are still in their possession and the RKS Machine." She suspected they had access to other technologies, such as spacecrafts capable of traversing Ultra Space, but could not confirm that hunch as of yet.[break][break]
The Unown hummed in invisible, collective unison at the mention of their lost kin, a complex note that felt like sorrow - and, perhaps, frustration.[break][break]
"I hope to recruit several of my scientific peers within Rocket to the cause of investigating the RKS Machine, and other virtual means of entry into Hoenn." She paused. "As for the Unown...the Triad are no longer the only ones with access to the Unown Dimension. I am going to attempt to use it to achieve interdimensional travel, as well as see if I can figure out a way to prevent them from entering it."[break][break]
An idea surfaced, then, a memory of two Gods standing side-by-side, scions of destruction.[break][break]
"There is another Avatar potentially capable of interdimensional travel. Someone who could help us against the DRK Triad. I already have something of a tentative alliance with her...and it seems you do, too."

Trainers and their Pokemon were dropping like flies. As if shot from a CANNON, a devastating beam of pink Dynergy-infused light ripped across the battlefield, forcing Nomi to duck behind the boulder she and Trillium had retreated to.[break][break]
"Back to fire, I think," Nomi croaked, desperation present as she all but begged the universe to return to a natural order. Not even super effective typing matches seemed to make a difference in this fight: the Registeel was simply too powerful.[break][break]
But...they had to try, right? The titan had to be stopped. If it escaped this area, began crushing a town or city...[break][break]
And besides...a defeated Registeel was, perhaps, a Registeel she could study. Assuming Rocket could get their hands on it first, of course...[break][break]
Trillium burned hot, releasing a FIRE BLAST at the behemoth.[break][break]

She wonders if it's the voice of PENELOPE LIVY guiding the pen of Greyson Connors. She ponders whether one man's allegiance is worth exposing herself to the dangers of the League's retribution. She considers the stakes, and stares at the snoring form of parker jones curled up with Maisey, and thinks he could have killed me in the prison, but he didn't. Stripped of her powers, she would have been no match for a man twice her size.[break][break]
This time, she leaves Parker a note, kisses her forehead, silently pledges a swift return. Always, she is making promises she can't keep, but nobody will end up in the hospital this time. Not if she can help it.[break][break]
She rips a hole in reality, arriving instantly in Fallarbor. The city is feather-dusted in ash, an ominously grey backdrop for a rather cryptic meeting invite. She is haloed in the crystalline blue after-glow of her teleportation, Mîr - the Unown he'd gifted to her - floating by her shoulder.[break][break]
"Hello, Greyson."

"This is uncharted territory," she reminds them. "The RKS Machine has never operated like this before. We are not entirely sure why it evolved, but we need to learn everything we can about it."[break][break]
She can count on howard slayte's brilliance, but she's worried about him, too. Lately, he seems on the edge of some sort of internal collapse: a microcosm of the cataclysmic reckoning they are all grappling with. She cannot send an Unown with him now, but it seems she will have some control over this simulation from outside of the machine - there's that, at least.[break][break]
"I'm told you're a brave soldier, Inoue. I'm counting on you to protect Admin Fox."[break][break]
She does not know Hitoshi Inoue personally, but she's read good things. Yumi Hasegawa's personal bodyguard, apparently, and a talented fighter.[break][break]

Long has she suspected the DRK Triad of tampering with the RKS Machine: perhaps even having something to do with this most recent evolution of its capabilities. The data that can be gathered from virtual simulations seems to be a key component of their machinations...which only increases Nomi's sense of urgency. She must cut off the Triad's access to their world.[break][break]
"Investigate the area and report back to me what you find. Alert me immediately if Holo or any of her colleagues appear."[break][break]
Kallistatus hovers above the machine, and though it is silent, it seems to be taunting it somehow - challenging its former masters to face them.[break][break]
"And please - be careful."[break][break]
No matter what, she can't lose Parker. That is not a reality she can live with.

The majority of boxes are Nomi's, filled to the brim with dictionaries, encyclopedias, and scientific journals. She'll deal with them later - the artifacts of the student she used to be - but for now, all she can think about are Parker's arms cradling her close in all their muscular glory.[break][break]
"They're already in the master bathroom, I think."[break][break]
And they are, in a box marked definitely not mega stones, which Nomi can forgive if only because Parker's actually been using Amulius's Mega Stone lately. She wiggles until she's set down, bare feet against cold tile, shivering in the best way as she pads across the impossibly large space (all of this? Theirs?). Seconds of rummaging around produce a glittering sherbet heart the size of Nomi's fist. She holds it up to her nose, the scent instantly transporting her to a tropical paradise flush with Piña Coladas.[break][break]
"You're going to like this one," she declares.[break][break]
She leans over the side of the tub - keenly aware of the way her short pleated skirt will hike up to expose the back of her thighs, hinting at the lace panties beneath - turning the knobs of the clawfoot tub until the water's just right. A devious smile dances across her lips, bath bomb clutched between eager fingers.

Wary of the agitated Beedrill, Nomi hung back, waiting for the buzzing to die down before answering the young man's question.[break][break]
"I am the Visionary," she announced, as if that explained everything. Two more Unown popped into existence beside her, as if to emphasize the introduction. "Avatar of the Unown."[break][break]
Upon closer inspection, both people seemed vaguely familiar to Nomi - the woman in particular. A government official, perhaps? Neither were affiliated with Slateport University, as far as she could remember - but that didn't mean she hadn't encountered them on campus in the past. Rangers, for example, were known to make appearances on occasion: for training and educational purposes.[break][break]
Either way, they had likely heard of her, and thanks to PENELOPE LIVY, she'd likely need to get ahead of any preconceived assumptions - which would only further delay her.[break][break]
"There are those within the League intent on painting me as some sort of villain, but let me assure you: I am anything but." Her crimson eyes flashed with resolve. "My primary purpose is to find the DRK Triad, and stop them from destroying our world."

All seemed LOST, as paralyzing energy began to rain down upon everything within the vicinity of the Registeel. Trillium banked hard in an attempt to avoid one of the blasts, which caused Nomi to yelp in dismay as she nearly toppled from his band. By sheer luck or will (or both), she managed to stay atop her flying Pokemon, white-knuckled and sweating.[break][break]
The Togekiss maneuvered them both behind a boulder, hoping the shadow of the rock would shelter them from the onslaught of thunderous lightning. At this point, Nomi had absolutely no idea who was near her - and whether or not they needed any help.[break][break]
"We need to get out of here," she mumbled, fatigue starting to settle in.[break][break]
Trillium conjured the lunar energy of METRONOME once more, leaving the effects of his attack up to fate. He, too, was beginning to feel the strain of battle. Green energy glittered into existence, then shot towards the Registeel in a surge of APPLE ACID.[break][break]

Every time it seemed as if they'd finally subdued the massive behemoth, it would come back to life with renewed vigor. What powers this creature? Is this merely the strength of Dynergy or...? Even amidst the chaos, Nomi's scientific mind yearned to study their adversary.[break][break]
She ground her teeth in frustration, feeling the urgency of those around her as trainer and Pokemon alike frantically scrambled to avoid a gruesome Dynergy-induced death. She quickly scanned the battlefield, looking for those in need of aid. She caught sight of Tempest Quinn, and wondered if Cillian Quinn might also be nearby. Her chest tightened, and she felt a sudden conviction to aid her fellow Rockets. Her family.[break][break]
"Shield them," she whispered to Trillium. The Togekiss zoomed forward, wings flapping against the vicious sandstorm, summoning a SAFEGUARD. They would do whatever they could to ensure this desert wasteland did not become their collective tomb.[break][break]

The LAND trembled, the dunes shook, and the crowd of trainers scattered as the massive Registeel raged.[break][break]
But then - all fell silent. A brief peace settled over the battlefield. Apprehension tightened Nomi's chest as pinpricks of red could be seen in the distance, glowing ominously. Power was gathering...[break][break]
And despite the danger, she couldn't help but wonder...surely this would catch the attention of the DRK Triad...[break][break]
"We need to be ready," she muttered. She reached into her pocket, wrapping white-knuckled fingers around her Tera Orb. With a burst of fiery energy, Trillium began to glow with the power of Terastalization.[break][break]
Nomi held on tight as the Togekiss summoned a beam of TERA BLAST to counter the Registeel's Dynergy.[break][break]

So that's why she's watching when PENELOPE LIVY gives her state of the region speech. That's why she's watching when Yuina Higashi and her peers ask questions of the Councilwoman. And that's why she's watching when Team Rocket attacks the crowd of civilians.[break][break]
"We didn't order this," she murmurs, eyes bone-white and haunted as she watches the deadly flames from miles away. Her hands ball into fists, memories of magma burning through her veins as Parker's screams echo in her ears. "Did we?"[break][break]
It doesn't feel right.[break][break]
She calls out to Diomedes, sends Mir to Admin Bee. She gathers the two other Rockets capable of confirming her suspicions. When they arrive - teleported to her office by the Unown - she immediately addresses them, wasting no time in condemning the Coveted.[break][break]
"There are Rockets terrorizing civilians right now, in Slateport," she tells them, voice calm. Her eyes are normal again, though red with intensity. "Strange, don't you think? I don't remember any of the Underbosses issuing a directive to attack a League conference."
