Nomi was not so certain Eternatus was their enemy - not yet. If its power could be wielded against the DRK Triad, in defense of Hoenn, she would allow it to live.[break][break]

Surely there was someone worthy of its patronage - which was a mildly terrifying thought, but she could not afford to dwell on what sort of person that might be. One toxic heart bound to another; a familiar darkness laced the souls of the desperate.[break][break]
There were monsters in the League, same as Rocket. PENELOPE LIVY was a prime example. As Howard spoke, Nomi could feel his rage lashing out at her, like tendrils of thorny vines. She understood that pain - the near loss of a loved one: it had permanently turned her hair blue with grief.[break][break]

She stood. Across the table, she reached for his trembling fist, covering it with her own, smaller hand.[break][break]

The Hisuian Typhlosion was at her side in an instant, a paw outstretched. Nomi grabbed onto the Pokemon and righted herself, shaking out her hair.[break][break]
"I hate sand," she muttered.[break][break]
Pepper wasted no time taking up the offensive once more. An ERUPTION of magma shot forth towards the Bronzong.[break][break]

It was a well-executed tactic, and she couldn't help but smile - Rhys was, quite spectacularly, proving himself capable of aiding Rocket in more ways than just being her laboratory assistant. And in front of an Admin and an Underboss, as well? It was an excellent way to raise his reputation within the organization.[break][break]

It was becoming rather commonplace to find gigantic versions of Pokemon roaming the wilds. Nomi hardly batted an eyelash as the skyscraper-sized Bronzong came into view. She watched as her companions each released a Typhlosion, instantly approving of the intended battle tactic: FIRE would certainly be a strong bet against a STEEL type.[break][break]
But Bronzong were not only made of metal. They had PSYCHIC typing too. Which meant Nomi had the perfect Pokemon to address both of the Dynamaxed behemoth's abilities.[break][break]
"Pepper! Attack with all of your power!"[break][break]
The Hisuian Typhlosion appeared, his mane of ghostly fire glowing a soft pinkish orange. He opened his maw and released a FIRE BLAST directly at the titan's shielded body.[break][break]

Mind preoccupied with thoughts of war - and, subsequently, all of the work she still needed to do to ensure Hoenn's survival against the DRK Triad's inevitable invasion - she was perfectly happy to let Admin Bee lead their little mission into the desert. All she really cared about was discovering something that could aid her agenda, and who better to guide them than the trusted Admin?[break][break]
She and oscar clayton had begun an intensive study of Dynergy and it was proving to be quite useful indeed: what new aspect of it could they discover here?[break][break]
Elisabeth Fiorelli's presence was not necessarily unwelcome, despite her harsh treatment of Nomi's newest apprentice, Rhys Collins. It was, perhaps, a way for Rhys to toughen up a bit. The man was intelligent and clever, but it never hurt to get experience out in the field, working alongside some of Rocket's upper brass. Nomi was pleased to have him along, and eager to see what he might accomplish.[break][break]

Something shifted on the horizon, the haze of sandy skies obscuring it just enough to make her wonder...was it a cliffside or the COLOSSI they were supposedly looking for...[break][break]
