She smiles, squints just enough to make it clear she's having fun and pleasantly amused by his boldness. It's refreshing from the stammering mess she often met-- or the fierce dislike she sometimes faced, too. Like Felix Gallagher basically calling her job and the league's ability to function into question.

Uri places a shot in front of her and her squint intensifies along with her amused smile. She takes it, holds it out in front of her for a toast.

"I like your confidence, Mr. Three Shots Deep."

"Three?" she spits a laugh, sputtering her amusement in a way that's either charming or incredibly rude. Her brows raise high into her dark bangs and she glances at her own drink.

"Damn, have the dates been good or bad? We're driving you to drink, I can't believe this."

Stormy sighs heavily, hands on her hips. She seems to be manifesting some sort of irritable expression, her brows halfway between fury and disgust. She even opens and closes her mouth just enough that it looks as though she might be literally chewing on her thoughts, and the thought in itself was bitter and unappetizing.

God, she hated swimming.

But unfortunately, there was next to nothing she could do or control by being airborne or on the shore. The problem was in the water, not out of it. Although she was thankful for skyler dross's swimming lessons, she couldn't honestly say she looked forward to water lapping at her neck. What an unbelievably dreadful feeling.

"Hey, rookie! You ready to get your feet wet? Chop, chop, we've got work to do!"

Her tone is mostly playful, with only a slight bite to it because of the stress of the situation. She tosses out a Pokeball ahead of her, and it snaps back to her palm just as a hazy white light manifests one of her Seismitoad. The Pokemon sinks to the bottom of the ocean for a second before slowly rising back up with the inflation of her air bubbles.

For a moment, Stormy sort of side-eyes him with a note of amusement. His hesitation is palpable, but he does take her hand to shake. She smiles, accepts his invitation to sit, and glances over her shoulder briefly to check on her trouble-making Charmander.

"Y'know, a lot of people keep saying that! Is it that surprising? Maybe I really should chase my dreams of being a hermit."

She chuckles, shaking her head and pulling her hair over one shoulder.

"Business, pleasure, a night on the town. Whatever I'm feeling like in the moment. What about you?"

Two rounds under her belt and she dives into round three feeling a little bit lighter. She thumbs over the imprint of the pen in the napkin that Izydor Baranowski had given her. She's already considering calling him later for help with her tricky garage door. But she also thinks about cait alfric and if her and Sénon Game are in any need of mechanical help.

But she blinks that away and tucks the napkin into her purse as she approaches her next date. The woman holds out her hand to a Mr. URIAH BLACK with a warm smile.

"Good evening, it's nice to meet you. My name is Stormy."

Stormy absently side-eyes the Charmander and second Pokemon while they chow down together on the table cloth. Babies, amirite?

They both take a seat and Stormy smooths down her dress while she makes herself comfortable at their table. But as quickly as they sit and discuss, the speed date starts ticking down to an end.

"Do you have a business card, Izzy? Maybe, if I ever need any mechanical help, I'll give you a call. I'm sure I have buddies with vehicles and such, too. I'll keep you in my pocket."

His honesty tickles her cheeks pink. Her eyes widen slightly and she eventually pulls her sour expression into a small smile.

"Then I suppose something is quite wrong. However-- I am pretty cool."

She rises to her feet and offers her hand. Beneath the table, her Charmander has taken hold of the table cloth and is presently eating it.

"My name is Stormy. It's nice to meet you, Izydor. Apologies for the mix-up."

With regard to his question, however, she shrugs and disregards the bitter taste in the back of her throat. It was silly in comparison to being placed in a speed dating event with the simple instruction you liked men, only to be placed with women. Could that mean the pickings were slim?

Or maybe he had written himself down as business. That could be.

"It's been fine! Say.. what do you do for work? This event isn't just for finding romance, you know. It's a good opportunity to find business partners and friends, too."

Stormy does a double-take, startled by the slow, quiet approach of the man in her peripheral. She sort of frowns, half-way between confusion and lingering irritation. But she attempts to relax-- this isn't the man from her last date who had blatantly insulted her and the League.

Frankly, she was probably overreacting in general. But whatever.

The man stutters and stumbles awkwardly over his words, apparently tongue-tied or.. confused. Yeah, he definitely looked confused. It makes her blink, glance down at her chest and pat away some free crumbs. All of a sudden she feels self-conscious and out of place. She fights the urge to glance over her shoulder and hope someone else is here instead of her.

"Uh--" she reaches across the table to the name tag facing away from her. She lifts it, flicks it so that it faces him, and raises a brow. "Is this your name? 'Izydor'? Cause yes, in that case, we are. You look awful confused, though. Something wrong?"

SPACE-TIME DISTORTION #1

✦ arcanine / male / flash fire / roar, helping hand, flare blitz, reversal, flamethrower, agility

steelix / female / sturdy / gacha moveset

Stormy, ever the daredevil, charges into the distortion zone without hesitation. She has her Arcanine by her side and he has been consistently incredible at keeping her safe. But once on the other side, so to speak, the furry warmth beneath her palm is missing. One quick glance forward and back over her shoulder shows her that her Arcanine has taken to a whole crowd of curious, bizarre-looking Growlithe.

"What the--"

Her voice snaps the Arcanine's attention right back to her, and Stormy blinks in surprise at what she sees. Right before her very eyes, her golden furred, handsome devil of a dog sprouts black hair. He grows larger if only in fur density, and looks downright intimidating compared to his happy, smiley, goofy smile.

"Well, don't you look.. strange."

She hesitantly pulls out her phone to snap a photo, swapping to video as the furry bum of his fluffs out last. She spans the area as well, pulling her phone recording up to the crackling sky. The woman appears to be frowning as she turns it around to face her.

"Anyone know what this is or what it means? Should we be setting up barriers to prevent people interfering? Uhhh.. definitely seems like something someone's bound to get lost in, or killed in!"

Just as she finishes her thought, she is dragged forcefully to her knees. Gasping, when she looks back up, the distortion has disappeared, leaving only her and her newly changed Arcanine behind.

"Guess.. not. Okay then."

Still rattled from her last date being a complete bust (thanks Felix Gallagher), Stormy has a sour sort of look on her face just in time for the next one. She had stepped outside for a minute or so to catch her breath and let her Charmander out for fresh air. When the buzzer goes off signalling the start of round two, Stormy heads back inside and curbs her frustration with a sweet tart.

The woman chews slowly and taps her fingers gently against the lip of her glass of water. Crumbs cling to the corner of her mouth that she is unaware of.
