"First time is a little scary at first! Especially how big this slide is, but trust me! The end result is the best. The sea salt in your hair, the feeling of the wind kissing upon your face," she comments lovingly, experienced enough as a kid herself. It was scary her first time.[break][break]

So maybe, just maybe, after yesterday's moments with Andrea Vaneau, Genny had gone out to get a better swimsuit. It wasn't that orange and stripes was bad, but she hadn't exactly indulged much on herself. The glamping trip was for the girls, as was the beach trip. She had a new position, and for once, she splurged for herself. She didn't take too much notice of the eyes on her. Even Yuina's eyes weren't picked up by the redhead.[break][break]

Part of her hoped though, inwardly, she'd get those eyes on her, Yuina included. Was that toxic? Maybe. Genny can't help but smile in response though. "Dark days may be ahead, but if we don't take a moment to stop and smell the sea salt, we won't remember what it is we fight for." She beams to Yuina, both kites in the air, as she hands one to BB.[break][break]

And BB finds himself staring at Daikenki, the bark from the dark and blue otter not falling on deaf ears. But instead, BB does something quite precious. He holds his little goo hand out to Daikenki. To share the kite.[break][break]

Something told BB, that he was like BB! And because of that, they could share this moment. A moment of kinship![break][break]

Genny smiles down to BB, and back to Daikenki, as she takes a knee to ruffle the goo boy, and hold a hand out to the big otter. "I'm sure Daikenki knows too. Don't you?" She gives the otter the sweetest smile she can muster.[break][break]

No matter how long the night is, day will come again.

Hand outstretched, she feels the rain. The water seeps over all, and the umbrella sits neatly within her gloved hand. It's sorrowful, lamenting the times to come. In times like these, Elite Ranger Cromwell would enjoy the sweetness of this quiet, tranquil serenity.[break][break]

Until, that is, she finds her way towards that tree. Shattered in a second, she sees her there, struggling against the cold steel of the rainy skies. Moments go by, as she looks.[break][break]

The umbrella hits the ground.[break][break]

And in moments, the Pokeball is sent out. "Shale!" She cries out, the ancient flier claps her wings as she moves towards Elaine, and Genny does the same, pulling out from her bag a first aid kit.[break][break]

"Hey? You alive?" She doesn't know if the young lady can even hear her.[break][break]

"Everything is going to be okay."[break][break]

As she gets Elaine into her arms, she picks her up, and with the assistance of Shale, the two take off. They needed to get to a clinic, now. And thankfully, she knew just the right one. A clinic she volunteered at during the Meteno Incident, years ago, and the likely closest one she was going to find.[break][break]

Getting the young woman here to the clinic was the easy part. She sits in the waiting room, arms crossed. All she can do now, is bide her time. Wait for the bandaging to finish, and find out what happened.[break][break]

Huh. Genny understood the movements, and analyzing it quickly enough, it seemed correct. The dancer's movements corresponded with the arrow keys below, each step in time with the music. The track itself very nice, the piano was pleasant to the ears, and Shalin seemed to gravitate to the song in particular. It seemed to be a new addition?[break][break]

Really, it's the dancing that has Genny in awe, her eyes watching the movements. It's like a form of cardio, and from all the work she had done over the months to train her body, it didn't seem too hectic. Maybe she could start mixing something like that in?[break][break]

"Should we do that one?" Genny's head turned to her friend, brow risen and curious.

A rematch? Genny grabsat the back of her head! It was luck! Genny had her fair share of losses, and getting slammed constantly with tougher and tougher foes, such as kyle lopez and CIAN MAHER, she knew she would never hit the podium. But her and Gordo definitely made the try.[break][break]

"Why not? Sounds fun!" She beams lightly, looking over the different arcade machines. And remembers a time back way back when. One cabinet in Alola she went to when she was just a young girl, her dad taking her to her first visit.[break][break]

And how she gravitated towards a fighting game cabinet. But that wasn't really feminine, was it?[break][break]

Taking a moment to reach Shalin's own excitement, turning her gaze out towards the cabinets, she seemed to be looking at one dance-pad game, with four-panels. A blonde girl seemed to be doing great, good footwork working the rhythm game. While Genny was no dancer, she was interested.[break][break]

"Let's do that one!" She doesn't hold back from it. Shalin wants to do it? They'd do it. "Looks easy enough, just step on the inputs as the arrows reach the outlines, right? It's all rhythm!" Something that Genny...[break][break]

Genny grins back to Yuina, and Beachboy does the same bouncing as he does. The little goo boy was just holding onto this bit of kite, and the smile he gives to both Daikenki and Yuina is infectious.[break][break]

"I think you're right!" Genny lets the string go more and more, letting the Wailord go higher, soar further up there. "Beachboy, let it-"[break][break]

Beachboy lets it go. Genny leaping up into the air, and snatching the string of the second kite, giving a showing to a group of beachdwellers nearby as her new swimsuit bounces. Genny had some jumping power. It was nearly too late.[break][break]

"Not all at once, BB!" She grins, and hands it back to Beachboy who sweats, and bounces in place, not understanding the assignment. Genny turns back towards Yuina, and can't help but giggle out. How long had it been since she could relax like this? It felt...[break][break]

Desi opens up more. To admit something like this, to mention Desiree had killed in her home in Lumiose, has Genny pause. Her expression does not change. She hesitates, a foot like lead to keep her from movement, lead heavy as the teardrops Desi sheds in their moments of strife and swordplay. With metal upon metal, Genny guards. No matter how bright the flame she holds in her heart, the shadow strengthens behind her.[break][break]

Hesitance was no longer an option for either of them. The advantage Rocket takes every day, every time, every moment, showed just that.[break][break]

Genny closes her eyes as Desiree continues to shed those tears, as she takes a step back, and holds the blade to her front, pointed upwards, stanced up and ready. She takes a moment to watch the blade move through the air itself.[break][break]

"Desi," she begins, attempting to defend the next move Desi makes. "I share your sentiment. I love this region. I love the people here, and seeing them happy, their smile, their hearts as they resonate with each other... they are beautiful. I love you, our friends we've made, those who have shown me the way, Izzy. I won't rest until Rocket is gone." She looks at the reflection in her sword, and sees the one hazel eyes looking back.[break][break]

"Survival requires us to work together in harmony, so if you are my shield, we will succeed. One day, we will see the world we want."[break][break]

She hops forward, to aim at the blade. And if Desi attacks from behind? Gram is already on it, to protect her flanks.[break][break]

Andrea didn't seem perturbed by it at all... it has the shorter redhead wear a smile again, crooked as it may be. Of course. She was fine, she was always fine. Strong-willed, always seeing the sun at the end of the road. Her fantacism for dragons kept her from the darker thoughts roaming around her head.[break][break]

Genny struggles with that, every day. It's people like Andrea that keep her from faltering. Between finding them badass, and mentioning Councilwoman Morningstar's Salamence, it brought peace to her mind.[break][break]

"Really?" She can't help but smile. She would get revenge.[break][break]

As she continues to apply the lotion down, she turns to Gordo and Pon. The two hugged, and Gordo the whole time had this genuine smile on his face, the little armadillo just the cutest.[break][break]

Revenge can wait. As she turns back to Andrea, she nods from above. "The scar does look pretty badass. And who can say they tusseled with the Avatar of Necrozma and lived? Or even jump after a little Pokemon on a ship, and save them from madness?" Genny can't help but highlight the badass things Andrea has done. One scar won't slow her down.[break][break]

When the blast of ice comes forth, to attempt to take on Beachboy, all the massive dragon's might bearing down upon Hitoshi Inoue. To put it bluntly, if Genny so desired, she could have really let Inoue have it. She could take the victory. She could win... it's what she wanted.[break][break]

But complicated feelings burn her. For as red hot the flame is, she is not resistant to it.[break][break]

The BANG from Sootopolis has Genny snap awake. With a head up that direction, and Inoue looking that way... her enemy seemed concerned. The redhead takes the moment to think of it. If the redhead Rocket were here, she'd tell Genny to take advantage of the moment... but.[break][break]

Genny hushes. "Go." She orders to Inoue. "Next time, we settle this." She smiles at him from far above. And Beachboy stares from above, the Elite Ranger at the ready to blow Inoue into the murky depths, but held off. Ky was barely up still, but able to see the brilliance still, through it all. But...[break][break]

When Inoue would take that leave, all Genny can do is recoil. The League agenda burns into her mind again. A faction that has, time and time again, shown its worse side to her, and for her to have to accept it in steadfast idealism. A peon. A mindless, soulless worker bee had to accept the orders from their higher-up.[break][break]

Her eyes hidden under orange bangs within the breeze, she pulls out her Ranger Badge. And holds it at her heart.[break][break]

Once a long time ago... she wanted to aim for the top. A Head Ranger cannot fix the region alone.[break][break]

She will be the best. She will fix the region of Hoenn, so that Rocket can burn their banner, and that the League can accept them with open arms. A new person that drives her in her mind, she smirks, ear-to-ear, as Beachboy shrinks, Genny let onto the shallow waters of Mossdeep, surrounded now by Ky and Beachboy both.[break][break]

Releasing her final Pokemon in Milotic, she looks to Sasha and smiles as the sea snake nuzzles into Genevieve, who by all accounts is okay. The adrenaline hasn't left her yet.[break][break]

"Sasha... real quick, can you dive down the sea? I want you to try to look for parts of a blade that may be sinking down, and bring them back here. Five minutes. Okay?"[break][break]

No soldier deserves to be forgotten. Before she reconvenes to the League, she will honor them. Molly and Jubei both. Shoddy as it may be, he does deserve to be remembered too.[break][break]

By time the Lapras shrinks, Beachboy is big enough to let Genny get slammed into the gooey substance of the Hisuiian Dragon, the giant DYNAMAX'd version smiling towards Genny happily. Genny shines her grin back to him. Ajax, on the other hand, swims to shore with Ky in tow, the Mega energy evaporating, as he turns, letting Ky rest nearby. He'd need to carry Genny for the rest of this conflict.[break][break]

"He's still not done," Genny looks down below, holding onto Beachboy, one gooey keeping her steady, hazel eyes engulfed in the flame from atop. Ajax bares down and readies his steel body to take the first shot and defend his trainer, a shield for Genny, the redhead feels the wind, her hair flowing in the wind, longer than it had been in awhile. She lets her hair down finally, and breathes in.[break][break]

She stares at the water, the murky depths not yet a tomb. Stay alive, Inoue. He's not allowed to die. She had to win, but not at the cost of him. Get up. She thinks, her eyes on the water surface.[break][break]

By time he surfaces again, Genny's smiling downwards towards him, Ajax readied for him, but not for two strikes. The SURF is a tsunami, but the SACRED SWORD is like a dragon's flame. Ajax stands ready, ready to take all the damage. In return, he vibrates. The moment the damage comes in, he'd return it, in one last hoorah.[break][break]

"Burst!" With a roar of the steel monstrosity, Ajax yells and screams for the reverberation of a METAL BURST, not aimed at any of them in particular. The damage is so great, Ajax barely can stay conscious long enough, but he would deliver it. He would not falter. He is the shield, and he will dish the damage back from himself![break][break]

And once he does, his eyes roll up. Ajax the Aggron, the hero, has fallen unconscious, fainted. In moments, he's returned too.[break][break]

Three down. Molly, Gram, Ajax. Every time Sheriff Navy had told her to use. It is thanks to his recommendation that she is here now. She won't squander it.[break][break]

"Inoue," she calls out from above. The wind whips around her. "-thank you." It's this moment, these fights that have taught her how to stand on her own. She wants to be the Champion, she has to put in the work.[break][break]

"Wyrmwind." The Dynamaxed Goodra charges up the MAX WYRMWIND, the swirls of red energy appearing out, in a vortext of purple as it moves forward. The monster had flipped, and now Genny sat as the one pressing the advantage, as the twister connects to the water, towards the Lapras, towards the blade, towards Inoue. Whether he weathers the storm or not, is up to him.[break][break]

But Genny hopes he does.

This was the path of the hero. She knew it all along. To devote every second to this, to becoming the best and protecting the whole region, required tenacity and devotion. It requires someone special, who can carry the flag, bear the weight on their shoulders.[break][break]

As she charges in, a smile, a smirk herself. There's a respect she understands. They are on the different side, but they both share this; a respect, one that Genny didn't have before for a Rocket. Inoue is a bastard, a killer... yet she cannot help but think it's him that's pushed her here. She would have fallen against any other foe, but it's Inoue that puts her here.[break][break]

For that, for being a stepping stone, she will always respect it, even if she hates him.[break][break]

Gram is clashed and blasts upwards with the BLAST BURN sending him to unconsciousness, knowing his trainer will be safe. And in seconds, one hand goes up to return Gram, while the other reels back to punch Inoue square in his jawline. Her eyes filled with the burning fires of the sun, she smiles the whole while.[break][break]

Not soon after, comes Ajax' stand. As he takes the brunt of the crown of flames, the TERA BLAST striking him in full, he allows himself to be pushed back towards Genevieve. As the MAX STARFALL comes, Beachboy is returned as well, as Ajax utilizes a PROTECT, huddling over Genny in full, as she prepares the Pokeball. Never once does her mind stop considering possibility. Not once, does she think she'll lose.[break][break]

The blow is not easily taken. Ajax is on his last legs already.[break][break]

With a jingle of the DYNAMAX BRACELET, as Ajax' imperfect Mega finishes off from the brunt of the stars falling, Genny releases Beachboy again, a massive Dynamax goo dragon, as he lands atop of Lapras.[break][break]

"Steelspike," she orders in a word at the massive dragon, hand outstretched. From the sides, a MAX STEELSPIKE comes loose from the massive dragon, to strike all around, with intent to break the Lapras in full.[break][break]

He wanted the Champ, here came the champ.

She's vigilant, even when no eyes are on her, she survives as the lonely bard within the barren land of ice, to fight a war not for her. Twenty years, she fights for those who cannot. If her heroes won't be there, she'll be there. She is her own hero. She must be. If she falters here, she is no hero, so she simply does not allow it.[break][break]

She's vehement, upon the shores of Dewford's island, she fights Rocket no matter the cost. Every fight (jayden cross, Tempest Quinn, Victoria Beckett, fern delaney, Lulu Flint), or those who she was forced to interact near (mint frost, @marcus, Aurelie Lefevre), she did so with a smile. No matter how many times the dagger digs through skin, she fights on, presses on. But it's ollie morales, it's paxton concordas, it's Josh Devlin, it's Navy, that all show her the path.[break][break]

She's exuberant, when she meets DESIREE BLOOMS, Yuina Higashi, Andrea Vaneau, Elise Calcifet, marilee beaufort, luka chêne, even now Shalin Nariya. No matter if a Gyarados is coming to terrorize, no matter if a world of swamp and alien comes to break her, not even when a simulated training regimen has her show her training. She loves them, and those fireworks on New Years, and the hotel visit recently, are the best times in her life.[break][break]

She's loving, when she helps a Fuecoco make a friend in a Totodile, a Watson that needed a Sherlock, and a blonde boy with a single eye, who looks at her now like she does at him. Even in snow, even in trauma, she stares at Isaac Merlo upon a bed in her birthplace, placed above him in a hope he returns her feelings the same as she does even now.[break][break]

She's vicious, as the prisoners are kept held down, when those she considered friends and foes are in constant disarray by an alien threat, where her only cellmate is a small Hideo Kino , who tells her to hold on, to keep on the path. By time the muscle grows by chain, she takes and takes, until she strips what is not her, and fights on till she reaches foreign land.[break][break]

She's conflicted, in moments of stress, as the redhead villainess (Sylvia Cousteau) stares down at her, the hero she wanted to see to save Hoenn. She cries beside her hero in PENELOPE LIVY, as she tells her never to stop. To Melody Miro, who she still has to challenge even now, having gotten so strong now, she cannot let her down. Any of them down. And when his voice reaches her, when he speaks, when he screams... she grits her teeth unconscious. The pain is great.[break][break]

She hears his voice, and she steps forward. Who is she seeing? In a dream upon that measly ship, the vision of burning, she feels the fire and brimstone, every smack down of hammer to burning metal, slamming downwards to forge her in fire. She sees the burning red R, herself the one who holds the flag in this resolution.[break][break]

She pulls the blade out, having grit her teeth so hard, ember eyes burn bright, she engulfs in that flame. To save Hoenn, she would burn by fire, and send it all ablaze. This is her heart, her strength. She pulls the blade before her out of the stone, she pulls with what might sits in her, an adrenaline fire burning so harshly within, it illuminates all, as the blade shines.[break][break]

She sees the shadow before her.[break][break]

'You wanna protect this region?' YES. 'Stop all these Rocket folks?' YES. 'If you can't beat me, you ain't got a chance against them' I WILL.[break][break]

The shine mirrors the shine from Beachboy, the brilliant shine engulfing everything as the shell morphs. Glazed eyes look again, ahead, full speed ahead, as Genny can make it out more.[break][break]

'Is that the kinda world you wanna see?!' "NO." 'The one they'd build?!' "NEVER." 'Stand up and fight for the world you wanna see-'[break][break]

'-Champ!'[break][break]

"I WANT TO WIN. I WILL WIN. I HAVE TO WIN."[break][break]

She ignites. Her eyes looking at Hitoshi with regained focus, and three steel foes stare down Inoue. He may have two swords. She had three. As Ky falls over, burning the wound closed with the last BLAZE KICK he can manage, he leaves the rest to them.[break][break]

Ajax screams, rushing forward to Inoue with a HEAD SMASH, while Gram is thrown with a GYRO BALL. And with their newfound physique, Beachboy's Hisuiian Goodra form fires again with a DRAGON PULSE. Genny races forward.[break][break]

Maybe... they could have been friends... once. She moves to, once he's dodged, once he's out of the way, to throw Hitoshi to the ground.[break][break]

Tomorrow was the answer all along. To smile for tomorrow, she lives today. For those without a tomorrow, she'll pave the way to make sure the sun rises again for them. No matter what the next day holds, she'll make it to tomorrow, and every day beyond it. If no one sees the way, she shows the path. If no one knows it, she takes their hand and goes. If no one will light the path, she'll be the flame that warms them all.[break][break]
