The stride beside of Josh was low-energy, that much was certain. Being told that the rider of the region could not ride for awhile while under rehab, that was debilitating. But to be shown a dream? A childhood dream that he had, that was special. What was that? The redhead looks on curiously, her glance now set to Dashie. So cute, so fluffy, Genny had to at least ruffle the head of the Galarian Rapidash.[break][break]

"Just like mom's," she remarks to herself. When she pulls herself onto Zagreus proper, she seats herself on the Arcanine's back, the Arcanine giving a ruff and small bark, as he turns forward to face Josh, and the duo watch on as he takes the feather out, and does an odd motion.[break][break]

And then.[break][break]

Her jaw drops. "Wha-"[break][break]

There they stand, the dog of lightning. Genny's hazel eyes focus all over it. From head-to-toe, the redhead wants desperately to figure it out, but she has to stop. As she slides back off of Zagreus, she takes a step closer.[break][break]

"Josh. How in the world-"[break][break]

Swift the Raikou. Like in the presence of a god. She kneels.

Hearing Desi's voice is like a record screech; everything comes to a halt, and Genny's eyes prick with tears. When the taller woman closes in, Genny follows suit, and wraps around her pink friend, a loving embrace she made sure was as tight, if not tighter. Crying wasn't going to fix the pain they shared, but it was going to make it better. For just a little time, for a moment, they could hold onto each other.[break][break]

"I'm glad you're okay," she cries out, her eyes like two orbs of water that never stops flowing, as she sniffles loudly. Genny's scars didn't run too deep, but the sight of them would be enough.[break][break]

When Desi points out that Genny's graying, the redhead's cheeks heat up. She was hoping to keep that secret, but as always, Desi has the answer. Genny can always depend on Desi... and knowing that Desi too, had been subjected to this scourge on their hairs, the Ranger beams up at her. They can cover it up.[break][break]

On their walk through the trees, as Desi opens it up, the stressed out Genny wipes at her eyes, a gloved hand trying not to ruin the very light makeup around her eyes. Tears of joy trickle down her face, ruining it anyways.[break][break]

Genny starts to go over the events.[break][break]

"After we escaped... I had to make sure people were okay. Rocket was there, so I couldn't just switch it off-" Switching what off, Genny doesn't elaborate. But with tears staining her eyes, she continues unabated. "-aside from a minor concussion, and some scarring, I was alright. But. It's not over."[break][break]

"As long as Rocket is in Hoenn, I cannot rest," she declares, eyes set forward, far ahead where Desi is walking. "Not until..."[break][break]

Okay wasn't really good enough. It isn't going wo wipe that whole week away, the work they had done. Every single task given to them by the accursed wardens... by the people they had scorned. When Yuina had decided to grab her hand, Genny grasped back. Like at any moment, Yuina could disappear, gone with the threats around them.[break][break]

With the looming war on the horizons does no favors... but Yuina does. She offers to be here for her. The redhead can't help but widen the smile to a full beam. Even with the coming days, she wouldn't let go of Yuina. Her friend.[break][break]

"Same to you, Yuina," she mentions back. If Yuina needed the heaven and earth moved, Genny would aim for the heavens, and move it. That was her promise.[break][break]

The way Beachboy just stares up with such joy, and when Yuina comes down, Genny follow suit as the little slug dragon opens their mouth with such joy. Today was not a day of sadness! This was a day of happiness, and Beachboy would make it his mission to put a smile on the girl's face. Both of them! That was Beachboy's vow![break][break]

To Yuina's question, Genny's eyes would linger to Beachboy, and she returned a similar sunshine smile. "After everything went down, BB found me when I tried to investigate last Halloween. You remember the swamp near Fortree?" she gives a polite giggle to the way Beachboy bounces up and down. "He was just bouncing on his shell, excited to see me. I guess-" she starts to trail off, and places a hand on Beachboy's head.[break][break]

"-some Pokemon know when they're needed." she remarks oh so happily. Beachboy beams wider than ever.

Wow. Seeing the team in full swing, this was the real deal. illeana reyes continued to provide support, and from PENELOPE LIVY, Eduardo Hisakawa, and Genny's own assault, they were making solid progress.[break][break]

"No problem!"[break][break]

If she needed to aim at the arms, Genny would pave the way to get there. With a gloved hand to her chin, and Sherwood encircling around the massive Claydol, Genny watched Beau's strike into the arms.[break][break]

"Sherwood, suppressive fire!" Genny orders out.[break][break]

It was her time to provide the supporting strike, and with the empowering SUPPORT from Illeana's Vaporeon, the Sceptile would feel her energy reinvigorated, and with a flip, fires out 4 SCALE SHOTs from her tail towards the Claydol. As she fires each to strike at the Claydol's eyes, she attempts to give the cover needed for the Lucario to make their strike. Sherwood would land after firing, and continue encircling the foe, the energy from the wish providing a second wind.[break][break]

Genny grunts to the redhead's commentary, both the comment on the lucky guy, and the one where she pulled her closer, ready for the ride to hit, when Rembrandt would fire off the gust of wind. Thrown through the air, the city streets moved around the two women, and while she has little to no control of this terrorist holding onto her, she can at least prepare for the counter attack. Flying through the air, she sees the move needed to be made.[break][break]

Never stop thinking. Never stop planning. Always stay two steps ahead.[break][break]

Octavio charges down Rembrandt with the BRICK BREAK, and while Genny hits the ground atop of Sylvia, the orders come lightning fast. She grunts in pain, but lets out a command "Intercept, hit'em back! Ride the lightning, Rem!" Rembrandt charges with lightning all around his body, as he goes to meet Octavio, and with the clash of the fighting move, comes the SUPERCELL SLAM, moving to meet the octopus.[break][break]

And thne, Uzi appears from the water behind the octopus, and as Genny moves to grapple Sylvia down, attempting to pull her arm behind her back to subdue her, she calls out, trusting Uzi fully.[break][break]

"Hit and run, Uzi!" And within a moments, hitting from behind, Uzi moves to utilize a FLIP TURN, slapping Octavio with his tail, before disappearing into a Pokeball.[break][break]

"This is the end of the line for you!" Genny commands, pushing Sylvia down. "Surrender and turn yourself in!" She wasn't trying to hit Sylvia. In fact, her grip isn't the strongest. The Rocket could get out.

The heroine would find her fist caught, obviously due to a lack of experience with melee combat, as she was snatched away into the armpit, and in a moment, forced into a hold by the redheaded Rocket. With a hefty grunt upon the Rocket's fluid movement, she felt her legs locked too, and Genny's hazel eyes piercingly looked to the side, her shoulder now a perch for the redhead's head.[break][break]

Her eyes analyze the field. It seemed their little ice trap worked out, but not nearly as flawlessly as Genny would have hoped. They mistiming the movement. The Grapploct was a fierce opponent, but not so much as the woman in front of her.[break][break]

In fact, the way she spoke was off. Most Rockets were bonafide villains, enemies to the League and wishing to push the Rocket agenda, but this woman seemed against the mold. Was she just some random terrorist? But why? Genny can't figure her out, but more so her interest in Genny was off too. A hero? Smart too? Why the compliments? Oh well. "Let me show you how smart I really am! Rembrandt, blow us away!" Genny flashes a smirk of pure confidence. It was a risky maneuver, but Uzi could handle Octavio.[break][break]

If the woman didn't want to go tumbling with Genny, she better let go, as Rembrandt peers away from the Grapploct to blow once more a WHIRLWIND, intent to push the two over, if Sylvia refuses to move. And with the Grapploct grappling Jacuzzi, the Vaporeon crying out, Genny calls back. "Uzi, disappear!" And into the waters that the Rampardos had made moments ago with the previous surf, the Vaporeon would use ACID ARMOR to blend fully into the waters, while it was still possible.[break][break]

Genny was cute? As the gust of wind comes...[break][break]

"So kind of you. Unfortunately, I'm spoken for," she comments back irritated. And winds blow. With, or without the Rocket to be blown in the way too.

The wind from the emerging Claydol flows through all, nearly pushing over the tiny Ranger, but a defiant step forward keeps her grounded on both feet.[break][break]

With illeana reyes and Eduardo Hisakawa providing the support, Genny smiles, pulling her fist down. Sherwood gets down on all fours, the big gecko charging within the sunlight.[break][break]

Right. One breath in. She closes her eyes. Genny knew where this was going already.[break][break]

"I won't let you all down," she gives a friendly smile, before looking towards Sherwood, powered by the sun, given a clear line by Eduardo, and supported by Illeana.[break][break]

"Go." With all the speed she could muster, the Sceptile rushes forward, leaning forward, as the sun brilliantly over the yellow nodules on her back, both arms coated in the light of the sun, as she charges with the biggest strike they had from the get-go. A SOLAR BLADE charged with the hot desert sun, moves to collide.[break][break]

Like a clap of thunder, Sherwood appears on the other side, the blade making its contact in an instant.[break][break]

Bananas? "Lucky guess?" Okay, maybe she did a little more homework. Bananas were important for potassium. Helped the nerve signals, with muscle contractions, blood vessel relaxants, and heart health. Overall, just health benefits. But, she did maybe know a little. And perfectly ripe too.[break][break]

Maybe she saw on a tabloid once. Whose to say?[break][break]

Course the conversation would get somber... and with the Megalopolan ship on the brain, Josh offers a private place to speak. Genny nods. "I could use the fresh air... and you could-" use the ride. She dims entirely before she looks back to his cast. And it kills her on the inside, to have to see him like this. Guy didn't deserve this. He ran the Gym.[break][break]

In a small way, Genny blames herself more and more for the occurences the Megalopolan caused.[break][break]

"So, who will be your riding buddy? A Mudsdale named Tatter Trot?" she wanted to brighten the mood, and smile at him. Anything to get him to smile back.[break][break]

Even if that name was adorable for a Mudsdale.

The moment Coal gets scared, Genny does too, throwing her hands up and freaking out a second, before seeing his reflex. Observing for a moment the way he instinctively reached for the knife. A cause for concern, but not an alarming one. Yet.[break][break]

Beads of sweat move down Genny's neck. But she holds her hands up. "Promise, I'm friendly! Sorry!" she exclaims quickly. He's apologetic too, but it was Genny who spooked him. But with the taking of beer, it led Genny to relax her shoulders. She would, against her own judgment, crack one open herself... and the taste was.[break][break]

Revolting. Her facial expression said as much. But drinking alone was so lonely. She'd know, she nearly threw her career away doing just that. With someone? Even if he was scary, she'd try.[break][break]

His query is answered disappontingly. "Sorry. I'm no wizard with Sheets, and backlog is something I still have to this day. Not even my city. Not anymore." She sighs, and rubs the back of her head. But quickly changes her tune. "I can drink this-" spooty water "-beer with you? Keep you company while you do it?" They clearly started off on the wrong foot.[break][break]

"Elite Ranger Cromwell... call me Genny!" she shoots a smile back, as she holds a hand out to him. Her incredibly short four foot eleven frame making her look awful puny.

Her phone buzzes, and the immediate response is... Wooper. Several Wooper. Genny's head tilts to the side, but upon a little observation, she smiles. "Oh, a location!" That would help her find Eris faster, and so, as she entered, she lets out her Fennekin, Akane. The little fox mounting atop Genny's shoulder, and helping light her way.[break][break]

But the breathtaking views of the Meteor Falls barely required that light. And Genny began her deep dive in.[break][break]

The walk is quiet, with a few pets given here or there. She can feel her other Pokeball rumbling, Beachboy wanting to come out again already. But Genny decides against it for the moment. Once they get there, maybe. Till then, she'd rather not lose him.[break][break]

She's done losing.[break][break]

It doesn't take too long to find a similar looking formation of rocks, as she looks about. "Eris?" She sees her there, a smile on her face. "You're doing well."[break][break]

Cool Big Sister mode activated.

Gordo to Zeus would stretch more thanks to the helpful Primeape, and even responded in kind when he reverted back, giving the big monkey a big thumbs up, making the happy Sandshrew noises. Sherwood would make sure that Genny would be able to stretch properly, but upon seeing Belle, she would watch Genny go back to standing, before coming over, holding out a hand. The maternal Grovyle wanted to help the creature. They should all be together.[break][break]

Ky on the other hand would see the Wigglytuff watching Sherwood, and smile quietly to himself. Genny would stretch again.[break][break]

"No kidding. I did stretches before... NGHH... but this is something else!" Her body was happy to feel more normal, but Genny knew that she'd need to keep this up. That Girlygang Yoga day was all the more viable now.[break][break]

When all the Pokemon and Trainers finished their stretching, Genny rested a moment, as Thea explained. Ukemis. Fall breaks? Genny had no idea how those worked. But pairing off into pairs... she nods swiftly, before looking to her trio. They seemed to be moving already. Ky would walk to Belle, Sherwood would to Gominha, and Gordo to Zeus. Which meant-[break][break]

"Guess it's me and you, Thea! Show me how it's done!"

Yuina joins the crying, and the sobs act in chorus. Even as Yuina proves she's okay, mostly, all Genny can do is look almost like a baby a head shorter than her. Her lip quivers. The entirety of that Megalopolan ship, the fact that they not only met in the swampy routes near Fortree during a similar threat, but were forced to play their game as prisoners weighed heavily on both girls, it seems.[break][break]

But thankfully, even through that, through the path that they were forced to walk, they came out the other side, hugging and holding onto each other. Much like Yui held onto her, Genny held on in fear that Yuina was a ghost or memory.[break][break]

It's Yuina saying that Genny was a fire... that she was warm, that suddenly plagued her mind. Genny's eyes closed for a moment, as Beachboy's mouth opens, excited to see Yuina! A connection! Where was she from? What did she do? Did she like Redhead Trainer? He continues to wiggle like a jelly jiggle.[break][break]

And she remembers snapping that Megalopolan's neck. Gone.[break][break]

But she returns to that same sunny smile. She preferred to not show that weakness, in the hopes to keep her friend smiling. "I've been around Hoenn for a year and a half now, give or take. You just learn to roll with the punches!" she laughs, but in that laughter was a lie. She's not okay. She's not alright. She's tormented personally by her choices, but she had to make them. She had to.[break][break]

Her eyes are filled with a guilt that can't just be slept through, but a resolve that understands war. Veteran eyes now shade the hazel hue, a depth that Genevieve Cromwell did not have before. Not from Galar. Not from the battles in Dewford. Not from the Megalopolan attacks near Fortree.[break][break]

She finally lets go, and smiles, a more sheepish smile to her usual sunny demeanor. "I'm... okay enough too. I think we're going to need some time to get back on our feet! Hah." Her facade seemed all the more flimsy.[break][break]

Rocket would leave no time for peace. She couldn't rest.[break][break]

When Beachboy finally responds in kind, having let go, and is now circling around the girls, bouncing on the hard shell.[break][break]

Genny realizes she hadn't introduced him! "That's Beachboy! Beachboy, this is Yuina. Say hello!" The Sliggoo's mouth widens to a big smile, as he bounces now in front of Yuina. Like a pogo stick for the shell. A Hisuiian Sliggoo.

Pushing the hair from her face, taking a breath in upon his confirmation, Genny would insert her key she received from him, turn the knob to the front door, and push it open.[break][break]

The way Genny immediately looked amidst the room. The way he tidies up, the way the northern wind moves, she feels her orange-red hair flowing in the wind itself, and yet she smiles. She's no girly girl, not fully. No, all she can do is smile ear-to-ear, and look up into the lights, to see him flying about.[break][break]

"Izzy," she chimes in one word, and immediately steps in her boots forward, before throwing two happy, oddly muscular arms out around his neck. Before he event had a chance to respond, she had pushed forward. A small kiss, something to remind him that, yes, she's still here, yes, she's still in Hoenn, yes, she's here with Isaac today.[break][break]

Admittedly, it lasts a second or two longer than he might have expected before she pulls back, hands in front of herself. She looked lovely, save for her hair blown about unevenly, though some ways it made her look a lot more lovely.[break][break]

"I got us some strawberry shortcake yesterday! Was hoping to share while we talk?" She would take a step towards the food and water, placing the small bag down. Did he get all of this ready for her?[break][break]

The red hits her cheeks. "Almost feels like yesterday-" she stops, and turns to look at his leg. At his whole body.[break][break]

"Izzy... are you okay?" She remembers the events of the Megalopolan ship way too well. The way he looked half-dead. He looks much more half-alive now, at least. "I can move things too, you know?" She moves a finger through her hair, twirling a finger through her locks.
