Genevieve was used to it by now. The fading memory of Lady Bloom enters her mind... the man who attacked them during the dog mission fuzzier and fuzzier, and she didn't get a face before (Hitoshi Inoue). But with the rushing Sharpedo, the surge, the bounce, all while Hazel got into a combat stance. The Sharpedo was faster than anticipated, but even so, Hazel could-[break][break]

"Counter stance, Wood Hamm-"[break][break]

Hazel would take the CRUNCH, and attempt to bat the shark away with a WOOD HAMMER volleyball smack, but unbeknownst to either of them, Genevieve would be blasted at with a HYDRO PUMP, putting the redhead at a disadvantage, as the torrential downpour threw her off her feet, and tumbling into the sand with a slide. Her hair was drenched, her outfit damp and wet, but she glared.[break][break]

"Don't worry. I learned a thing or two from your lot with the dog mission. Guardian. Keep the water to a minimum."[break][break]

A Duskull appeared from Genevieve's chest, the red cloak of the shiny apparition would have the glowing red eye flared up, before locking on the Vaporeon for a DISABLE. Wiping her hair out of her face, Genevieve smirked.[break][break]

"I'm not your average Ranger, so you better not underestimate me, Rocket." she boasts. She could back-up that claim but if she took another attack like that Hydro Pump, she wasn't going to last.

The Pin Missiles bounced off, and Genevieve scowled, no pout, just disdain for the foe that emerged from the ocean. To that threat, she would respond in kind with a confident smile.[break][break]

"Not gonna happen." she responds coolly, keeping the confidence in check, as Hazel dances in place, flexing his little chipmunk muscles, as the redhead held up her badge. "Under the Ranger core, I'm placing you under arrest."[break][break]

She's not backing down at all. No shark, no hell or high water, was getting her to move. Fear may grasp her heart, but surrender wasn't an option.[break][break]

"Again, on the shark. Do not hit the human aboard."[break][break]

Genny attempted her damndest to make an assessment. Sharpedo are known for their bites. Anatomically, that's the thing she worried about more, so keeping the shark at a distance would suit her well. Making them swim, even if the newly fired pins missed, meant he'd have to spend extra energy moving, right?[break][break]

Whether she was right would be another thing entirely.

Simple little supply mission. It's something quiet, a little movement of supplies but in a smaller group. Two, in fact. And one of them, Genevieve, pulls on the straps of her orange backpack, turning to her other. A simple Point A to Point B delivery.[break][break]

"Senior Ranger Cromwell escorting the goods!" She had saluted just minutes earlier, with the supplies meant to recuperate a camp already on her back. But Genny was having protection.[break][break]

She turns to her partner. "Mister Hoffman, right?" She smiles ear-to-ear. Sure, she could handle herself, and she didn't need the help. But it was always, always welcome.[break][break]

"Ready to go?"

Genny is on the defensive this afternoon. A small caravan of three carts, moving across the plains towards the cave, to assist the League and get them much-needed supplies to fend off Rocket. Genny was busy moving them along, little Camerupt trotting along with carts full, as she, along with her Absol, Ebony, would continue along.[break][break]

They needed to make it to the grotto, to set up a small supply drop for the Leaguers, and being who she was, Genny needed to make sure that they got to their destination safely.[break][break]

She wasn't going to fail... unfortunately for the redhead, another redhead was going to try and stop her.

The main grotto itself was a trap-ridden, puzzled little glyph-coated cave, but it wasn't a problem. Why? Because Genny preferred that to the war that this faction struggle was. She didn't want to think about it too much. Already, so much blood was shed, and this conflict wasn't helping in the slightest.[break][break]

This was a much easier day. She was accompanied by her best friend, and after the hell that was coming back from Galar, this whole ordeal was a cakewalk. And what better than to enjoy that cakewalk, with a good friend?[break][break]

"Glad to have you with me, Lammy." There it is. The sunshine girl that Genny was, back in full force. It was special.[break][break]

Genevieve had gone through her own trial and tribulation that night. But she came out the other side a lot stronger. She still had her ambition to reach the top, to become the head ranger, and she was still hardened by the events and tragedy that felt like a far off dream.[break][break]

But together... just as Lammy had said. Together, the human spirit can do anything.[break][break]

"All we need to do is to go over the glyphs here. Should be easy for us, right?" And survive the traps. She'd make sure no harm would come to Lammy. Never. Ever. None.[break][break]

With a hand out for little Oz the Rowlet, he began to flap about, and scour the walls, eyes checking for every nook, every cranny. Lammy's gifted bird to her.[break][break]

This time? She wouldn't let any harm come to a gift.

Running on land itself, Genevieve was speeding along with a Fennekin on her shoulder. On her side, a bag (purse) she was rushing towards HQ, or a higher up. Information that they needed on Rocket tactics that can, and would, information that might turn things around.[break][break]

It'd give locations for big targets of Rocket. Know-how, knowledge. As she runs, the little Fennekin keeps the little knapsack on her person, as she skids across the sandy bank of the route to a stop.[break][break]

"Okay, HQ... if I can get this to ollie morales , we can get an advantage. Where are you, OIllie? Come in? Head Ranger Morales, come in."[break][break]

Her comms were on the fritz.[break][break]

Not good. If she was being followed, she'd need to protect herself.[break][break]

Turning back with Akane the Fennekin, she keeps an eye to land She'd not be taken off guard. Unless a Rocket hid under the ocean.[break][break]

Now that'd be something.

Falling back isn't a fun time. But Genny had no choice. She was outgunned, and outmanned. And at present, she had no choice but to retreat fully. But her orders today, were to explore the cave. So she did.[break][break]

Genny, adorned in her Ranger attire, began to comb out the insides of the cave, realizing at some point that there was this odd mist. Interdream. lam logan had mentioned it during their duel inside of the Route 120 cave, and it had Genevieve question what it was, so she went into research mode after that.[break][break]

She came up with a plan. It couldn't play much off her fears, but Rocket? If she led them here, she could get them at a disadvantage.[break][break]

Strategy often lies upon using one's surroundings to gain the upperhand.[break][break]

So, after scouting about, she would wait out front. An eye in her chest poking out, a shiny red-clothed Duskull at the ready, and watching for anyone who might get close. The moment they do, a SHADOW BALL would be shot towards their feet, but as a warning shot.[break][break]

Question was. Who might take this bait? It was a gamble.[break][break]

"Senior Ranger Cromwell, awaiting the arrival of the opposition."

It's another boat in the distance. Another boat, that Genny was tasked with keeping from the shoreline. The last one she tried to stop from docking onto the sandy bank.[break][break]

She wouldn't let Rocket keep this one. With her little chipmunk, Hazel, she intended to make the ship sink in full by breeching the hull, attempting to make it go down, and forcing Rocket to abandon ship, where Genny intended to round them up upon reaching land, and taking them in.[break][break]

It was easy.[break][break]

"Pin Missile, Hazel. Breach the hull best you can." With the Chespin kicking up sand with rolling around, he began firing out PIN MISSILEs to take it down.[break][break]

Genny used this tactic when she was out handling pirates with Josh Devlin. Similar thought process. If they can sink even one ship, they make all the difference.[break][break]

It was never that easy.[break][break]

"Senior Ranger Cromwell. Engaging the enemy."

After pulling herself up, and snapping out of it, she sat in the Ranger gear, and eyed Rocket from the beach she stood on. Surrounded by a number of Pokemon she had at the ready. In the distance sailed a boat, attempting to make it to shore. And with a gloved hand thrown forward, she calls out to her partner.[break][break]

A big snow moth, surrounded by SHIELD DUST that looked at the distance with ire. Rocket would not make it to this beach.[break][break]

No chance.[break][break]

"Aurora Beam."[break][break]

The Frosmoth would lean down and begin blasting the AURORA BEAM over the ocean, an attempt to keep the boat landlocked. But, Genny assumed that wouldn't be enough. She brought a contingency. A lasso.[break][break]

Genny believed in second chances. Violence wouldn't solve what could be solved with just communicating. She believed that more than ever thanks to ollie morales, @lam, and Isaac Merlo. It made Galar much easier to cope with.[break][break]

Readied at the shore, Genny braced for battle.[break][break]

"Senior Ranger Cromwell. Engaging the enemy."

What a wonderful person! Genny's smile immediately bursts over her whole face! And here Genny thought that only men were in the Hoenn region. Sure, there was the occasional girlie here or there, but it was nice to finally get to interact with one![break][break]

"Desi. I'll be sure to keep it short then!" She's grinning, her pearly whites showing off, as she takes her hand and shakes. Makes it all the better with how pretty Desiree really was, and the desire to help? She was already a woman after her heart. "Oh, any help you wanna give will be appreciated!" Beaming with the intensity of a gentle afternoon sun, about to be shunned away by the coming rain.[break][break]

The pink saddle on the Tropius, and the creamy delight Alcremie has Genny surging with jubilation, as she reaches down and accepts that sugar sweet. "You are so cute. You know that?"[break][break]

A little taste never hurt. And sweet as can be too, as Genny made a satisfied noise of approval, grasping at her cheek as she had the taste.[break][break]

"The only thing we shouldn't do is kill. Putting it to sleep was an idea I had, and knocking it out would do us great actually! As long as it heads back to the wilds, every strat is viable." she deposits, happy to have a partner in crime to fend off the Gyarados. With a thumbs-up, and seeing Alcremie walk to the edge, the MISTY TERRAIN has Genny's Marill relax, blowing more bubbles happily.[break][break]

With it comes the downpour. And the nearing threat of the beast that looms dangerously in the distance.[break][break]

"Wander. Stealth Rock the perimeter. If the Gyarados comes close, we need to be sure it gets hit properly. Bubbles, dive down and hide. Get the Belly Drum out so you can power up just in case. Gigawatt, prepare your Thunder Wave in 30 seconds, and fire off at my command." With her three Pokemon moving out, and beginning the strategy, she turns towards Desi. Genny had come such a long way.[break][break]

A ride on Tropius, huh?[break][break]

"I'd love to! I've never rode a Tropius before!" She beams to Banaynay, with Gigawatt on her shoulder, as she gets closer to ruffle the chin of the big banana-tree flyer.

Genevieve swallows, the audible sound from her throat, as she's close to squealing, but she keeps her composure. Just a short, few months ago, she'd be asking for her to sign her training, and give her autograph to become as strong as her (and slipping up that too), but Galar really had mellowed her out more than she thought.[break][break]

She never thought she'd get a chance to meet another of her heroes in Hoenn. At first, it was just annalise henderson. Now? Someone she really looked to.[break][break]

Amazing what a deep breath of air can do to calm the nerves.[break][break]

With a hand returning the gesture to the Elite Four member, Genny smiles ear-to-ear. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Miro. I'm a big fan." She's reserved, quieter now, having taken that breath to keep her grounded. After letting go, she leans down to toss the Pokeball again. Little Lucky the Yamper rushes forward, both wheels hitting the floor as he burns rubber.[break][break]

She's longing a moment. "That's Lucky for you." She turns her head towards Melody. "Disabled Pokemon deserve every bit as much love as normal Pokemon. They didn't choose to have these disabilities. They're trying to live one day at a time, and if I can make their day brighter, even by a little? I want to."[break][break]

Little Lucky is already on his way back, barking up a storm on the Pokeball.[break][break]

"What about you? What brings you here today, Miss Miro?" Genny had successfully quelled the fangirl... for now. All that was left was meeting PENELOPE LIVY, and maybe Eva Morales (formally anyways), and then she'd have met her personal Elite Four.
