Perhaps it's for the best that neither recognize the other in their disguises, a truly authentic fight between two trainers looking to have a good time was by far more interesting than having to fight her boss and worry about beating his ass too hard.

Her Iron Jugulis emerges from its Pokeball and stares down at the little Eevee impassively, cold metal eyes analyzing the fluffball and picking it apart, already judging this fight to be an easy victory as the two trainers take their sides.

The referee raises his hand and Xenon tenses up, holding one arm behind her back and the other steady at her side as she narrows her eyes. Rhodium too stills as it floats in midair, not even the slightest wobble as invisible waves of gravity push away the dirt underneath it silently.

Xenon's arm whips forwards and she snaps her fingers, the middle head of the Iron Jugulis opening wide and firing a Dark Pulse of energy right at the Eevee to try and take her out in one strike! But even if that one missed the other two heads wouldn't remain still for long, the left firing off a staggered Flash Cannon while the right breathed out a wave of Flamethrower to deter the little creature from getting close!

Once again she steps out onto the stage, a new persona firmly in place as she smiles and waves at the crowd with that bubbly grin, a happy go lucky girl giving it her all in the tournament of her dreams. A girl fresh from Mauville City read to take on the world, not a gym badge to her name even as she takes on the Vital City Tournament with nothing but her strange otherworldly beast from the future there to support her.

Seriously, it's no wonder the League was struggling so much if they couldn't spot such a fake backstory like this. She was hardly even trying for Arceus's sake. Regardless, she stops at the center of the ring and releases her Iron Jugulis, awaiting her opponent with confidence and style~

"And in this corner, an up and coming trainer fresh from Mauville City, Caesiiiiiiiiiii Nergal!!" The crowd roars as the brown haired girl steps out onto the arena, something that amused Xenon to no end. She smiles and waves up at the adoring public, knowing they would show the same level of excitement if a ten year old with a Swinub had appeared in her place, a truly pointless spectacle. But the fights were fun and this was her territory as a Rocket, so it only made sense that she would take the time to participate in the revelries while they lasted. And who knows, maybe she'd even win the whole thing. Wouldn't that be funny, the terrorist who's been terrorizing the city for half a year winning their biggest tournament, then revealing the truth to everyone as she rode away on black steel with trophy in hand?

Her laugh couldn't be more genuine as she stops at the center of the stage and awaits her opponent.

Once more they step through the breach and into a new world, the finale to this simulated performance arriving as they open their eyes to the world's most violent storm. Thunder thooms and lightning cracks in the sky above, rain pounds down against the gnarled wood of the deck as Xenon raises a hand to her eyes and squints up at the stormy sky. A shape whips through the cloud cover with every crash of lightning, a thunder god roars as it hurls a javelin of light down to the sea with all of its infinite hate.

Xenon is not fit for battle, and the old woman who accompanies her is not strong enough to take on a monster of Legend with only this bit of dead weight dragging her down. "I don't suppose you know how to satisfy an angry thunder god?" Xenon asks quietly as she looks around their ship, trying to figure out through context clues why exactly they were in such hot water immediately upon awakening. All signs point to the wet treasure chest chained to the main mast, what might be inside was beyond her reasoning, but it was the only shot they had.

"Just don't keep me waiting too long Isaac~ I'm patient, but not that patient." With that last word of warning Xenon would see Isaac off as he dashes off to save the day, or at least he was before he was abruptly attacked by another Rocket member but that was none of her business anymore.

Which left her alone with miss Eris Halla and Executive Aurelie Lefevre. She couldn't claim to hold much familiarity with her aside from the few times they might have passed by one another in Sootopolis or the sub, but if push ever came to shove she felt she could rely on her to back her up. Probably. They give just about anyone an Executive position these days, she was breathing proof of that. The ultramodernist lets out a breathy laugh as she indulges in her private joke, brushing the snow from her suit jacket and approaching the duo with her ever present grin.

"Well I've never been much of a mother bird, but there's a first time for everything in this world!" She had no problem accompanying them for the time being while everyone else wore down the Kyurem, jumping in to steal the killing blow was just her style all in all. "For now think of me as your friendly bodyguard~ Night Shade." Another blast of ghostly energy zaps a hail of icy stalagmites raining down from the sky, evaporating the vast majority of them save for about half a dozen that pounded into the ground around them. "So kid, you really come to a battle of the gods just to save some baby pokemon from getting frozen over? That's ballsy, really looking to keep one upping yourself." Nothing crazier than fighting off terrorists in an active warzone, at least that's what Xenon had thought until she saw Eris once more today. She respected the hustle reminded her of-

A distracted look flashes across Xenon's eyes for a second, fading just as quickly as she turns back towards the towering Kyurem. "You gonna escort them all the way home or something?"

With the shout of the referee the two Pokemon burst into action, a snap of Caesi's fingers calling the machine to action as it fires a blast of steel energy at the approaching Altaria. It would allow the bird to try and make its approach, but it wouldn't make it easy as a triplet barrage of Dark Pulses carve through the skies trying to shoot the Altaria down, the Iron Jugulis's body rooted firmly in place as it tracks the bird's movements mechanically.

"Caesi" approaches the ring with a spring in her step as she waves up to the crowds and laughs, appearing for all intents and purposes as nothing but another bubbly challenger looking to make a name for themselves in the Vital City tournament. Her attention turns to Diana as she bounds over and grabs her hand with both of her own, shaking it quite hardily in the process. "Nice to meet ya! I'm Caesi, I hope we have a fun match!"

Once formal introductions have been made the girl hops on over to her side of the arena and releases her partner of choice for the day, a brutal metallic dragon floating over the battlefield and slowly looking around with its triplet heads, scanning for the threat so it could calculate how best to dismantle it with as little effort as possible. Even if Xenon could hide her true nature with nothing more than a well crafted wig and clever prosthetics, she could not hide her nature quite so easily.

"Yeah there you fucking go!!! Get mad, get angry! We're killing a god today boys!" Xenon roars with laughter as the storm around her intensifies, more and more trainers pouring onto the battlefield to get their shot at the white dragon and the cruel djinn roaring their truth from on high.

A few in specific catch her eye, one she had fought not too long ago, and another... another that was familiar for a very different reason.

The crunch of snow catches both Isaac Merlo and Eris Halla 's attention as a certain woman stalks over to them through the storm, she's a bit different from when they might have last seen her at the SPECTRA trials and the battle within the Resurfaced Island... but it's still her, it couldn't be anyone else but her. If either of them had paid even the slightest amount of attention to the League news channels, anyone could recognize the newly crowned Executive of Rocket who had raised terror throughout Lilycove City.

"Hahaha, so you're here to fight the dragon too huh!?" Her shadow is ominous as it settles over the two of them, the light of the sky twisting its form with every movement from her Gengar. "You know the higher ups have been pretty mad about you running away Isaac, I'd get a pretty nice feather in my cap if I brought your head back to base today!"

A massive chunk of ice flies through the air towards the duo from behind, if Xenon said nothing they would both be caught off guard and she could start the fight with an advantage. Under normal circumstances she probably couldn't fight both a League Avatar and a practiced foe like Eris by herself, but these circumstances were far from normal. There was a chance she could do it if she went all in.

"Night Shade!" A blast of ghostly purple energy demolishes the stalagmite just a few feet before it can hit Isaac from behind. Xenon smirks and crosses her arms over her chest, a thin sheen of frost coating her metal arm as she clenches her fists tight. "Me personally, I don't really care who defects to where or why. But after all this is done, I want a fight Merlo. I want to see the future you're chasing after, see what about it was so great that you got the sponsorship of a god."

Something was wrong here, she could feel it at the back of her neck. Most would dismiss it as anxiety or baseless paranoia, but Xenon hadn't risen through the ranks of Team Rocket ignoring her instincts. That was a perfect way to get a knife to the kidney when you least expected it, if there was anything valuable she had obtained from her past it was a honed instinct for danger.

But she couldn't let anyone know that anything was wrong, she had to play the fool and act as though everything was peachy keen. She keeps a smile planted upon her face as she steps away from the railing and towards her private table, a set of five Pokeballs are held within a glass display case, her best Pokemon for when she needed to keep the damage to a minimum. They weren't her strongest though, something that could be a problem if this ended up going loud, but her gut was telling her this would be a quiet hit. Nothing was exploding yet, which foretold good things.

Xenon reaches out and opens up the display case, palming one Pokeball and releasing her Gothitelle in a flash of crimson light. The gothic lady seems confused for a moment as she looks to Xenon with an arched eyebrow, all the Rocket has to do is tap her fingers on the glass table to communicate what the Psychic needed to know as her brow furrows and she turns to look out at the crowd. Maybe if she had taken a little more time to screen her staff and remember their faces she might have noticed the girl in the all too big dress starting to approach her, but it's precisely because they were so unimportant in her eyes that Bullet would have her opportunity. Provided of course, she could work around the psychic Pokemon scanning everyone nearby for any kind of malicious intent.

There are many ways to fool a psychic Pokemon actively on the hunt. There are humans who are colloquially known as "Dark" in much the same manner as the Pokemon, those who are resistant or outright immune to the psychic attacks and scanning of Pokemon. Xenon herself fell under this banner, a fact that caused her no end of frustration when trying to communicate with her Psychic type Pokemon.

One could also hypnotize themselves, fooling even their own mind into thinking they were someone else, thus passing under the radar of Psychics. This was a well tested method by many Rocket assassins, sleeper agents implanted within a government as servants or cooks, programmed to get closer to their target until just the right moment.

And then there was whatever the hell Bullet was doing as she waltzed up to Xenon and her Gothitelle, thinking incredibly loudly about just how much she wanted to talk about philosophy and drink good alcohol. Now any proper human hearing this would immediately sound the alarms on such an obviously phony alibi, instantly attacking Bullet without remorse and dragging her to the basement to be interrogated. But a Gothitelle was not a proper human, she did not understand the mentality of humans, nor did she even fully understand the language humans thought in. What Hafnium was reading from Bullet right now was intent, a very enthusiastic intent to talk to her partner about things she already loved to talk about. So against all odds, the girl's steel trap mind manages to pass through the metal detector and get her right up to the table, bringing her to the final hurdle in this hastily planned assassination attempt.

Xenon herself. The club owner turns a curious eye on Bullet as she approaches, somewhat on edge, but otherwise smiling confidently as she motions for the "server" to sit down with her. "Lovely night isn't it? The music is bumping, the people are dancing, the future is bright as the stars in the sky. Only thing that could make it better is a good drink with an equally lovely lady~"

"Real is a matter of perspective. The DRK Triad travels from world to world in the same way that we travel from city to city, in the eyes of interdimensional tourists everything is real somewhere." In one world she knew nothing of the future, she stumbled blindly along her path and was led by the whims of equally blind fools clinging to tradition. In another she was one of them, reading the prescripts and trusting in their words as she executed the orders of the city. But in this world she was the one who left all of that behind. That's that and this is this.

Thinking about the Unown was unpleasant, even after capturing one it was still difficult to understand their true potential. The powers of the Avatar only just scratched the surface, painting over reality with a thin sheen of falsehood. She had her hypotheses of course, but that was just one experiment of many that took up her attention, a back burner project she dedicated time to when other things needed to simmer.

The crack of plastic against wood signals the shattering of her past work, the undoing of her labors as a broken radio clatters to the ground sparking and wheezing in pain. Xenon didn't care though, she had done what she came here to do. If she was summoned here to fix the radio again then she would do that too, but that was a question for the future to answer. "Just because we've seen a pattern in the past, doesn't mean it can't break in the future. So again, hold no expectations for what's to come."

Xenon licks her lips as she steps through the portal to the next world, diving through data with an intense look in her eyes. "Expectations are merely chains of the past that bind us."

And then they land, once more amidst the flaming ruins of Fuschia City as Admin Walsh stands proud in his maze of mirrors. "I've never met him in the real world, so I can't say I hold much of an opinion on him. He's undoubtedly strong, strong enough to hold together a criminal organization filled with as many psychos and maniacs as Rocket has. That alone I can resepct."

But as her eyes turn to this digital clone of the man, they're still filled with hate as she takes a Pokeball from her belt and summons forth her Unown. "But this subroutine has been an annoying thorn in my side. So let's break the chains of the past." And with that the battle begins as the floating X pulses with Hidden Power, a wave of purple energy pushing out of it and shattering the myriad mirrors that distorted the battlefield in one fell swoop, revealing the truth of the world to their eyes as the virtual Declan Walsh narrows his eyes. Today would be the day that she claimed victory over this byte of a man.

Suddenly, Walsh disappears. Throughout the gym, multiple "Walshes" appear behind invisible walls. Periodically, he will lunge from a secret space with his GLISCOR, NIDOKING, &/OR HYPNO to attempt to slay you and your Pokemon.

Xenon had no interest in the truth. The truth was a malleable thing, an idea that could be shaped by the strong, the truth was whatever one decided it was.

Xenon had no interest in the power afforded by these legends. Forces of nature rooted in the past, they were beings founded in history, ancient creatures that disgusted her.

Xenon was here to kill a god. It was the height of insanity, even she knew she would likely not be successful as she fights through the blizzard alongside her faithful shadow. But still.

"Shut the fuck up you spineless wimp! Aren't you supposed to be our fucking boss, how about you give us an inspiring speech or something!?" Xenon's voice crackles to life through the radio as she berates Howard's cry of fear, the wind whipping her words from the air and drowning her in a deluge of snow. It matters not. She's only pumping herself up as she looks up at the gods above and smiles viciously, pointing forwards with killer intent. "Let us curse these gods with our dying breaths!" Night Shade blooms from the Gengar's lips as he screams his partner's wrath to the heavens, one curse of many to bring down a god and fulfill a prophecy.
