What the Wooloo? [M]

For starters, three of the Wooloo would unapologetically look at him, not caring that they were caught red-handed… or red-wooled, if this was the case—in the arms of another!

The thing here was, they looked like they were really, truly enjoying it though; kind of like how people tended to gather around a fireplace in colder regions—not that he knew how that was since he came from an equally-tropical place (Alola) but damn, the sight looked too endearing for him to even stay mad!

“Yeah, all four of them are mine. That includes the grumpy one over here,” he continued, tilting his head in the dour-faced one’s direction. The other three Wooloo continued to bask and soak in the attention they were receiving, completely and totally unaware that their shepherder had finally caught up to them.

“Are you looking to get a Wooloo of your own?” he added a few moments later, letting the other three get all the attention they wanted while the surly one, Ger, wandered closer to where he was and began nipping at some grass.

To be fair, there was no Safari Zone back home in Alola—this was always going to be his first thought coming to this place—however the lure of… so many Water-type Pokémon in this place was always going to be beautiful to him.

So, either way, once he’d paid up the admission fee, he received four Safari Balls in return—

Wait, wasn’t this a mistake? After several confused minutes of explanations, he was then let through to the interior, surprised that he was qualified enough to have four Safari Balls rather than three…

Anyway!

His main ‘target’ would take some time to look for, which was why he was here in the first place…

While his Gardevoir was ready to throw hands, she was not expecting the nasty little shit to sprint through her legs like some kind of a—

Rude!

Jack saw what happened, too—and knew that while Emm had raw power on her side, speed was something that she lacked in. Quickly pulling out her Pokéball and recalling the Gardevoir, he swapped out to the Garchomp he carried—who had no name yet; but would someday receive it.

Once the Garchomp hit the ground from the beam of red light, it was time to put the pedal to the metal! Taking one step back, the land shark Pokémon then took off in a burst of speed; full intent on bowling the strange Delibird over—if not to bowl over, to at the very least trap it between his scythes!

This was the reason why he frequently travelled with a Gardevoir—they were ridiculously handy when it came to multiple situations such as the one earlier!

Thank hell I managed to get most of the fireworks out of the blast area in time… he thought quickly as he looked over to Emm the Gardevoir and nodded his thanks to her.

Before he could ask her to help subdue the Delibird-adjacent creature, he saw what had happened and was about to help Miss Elise when she’d run off ahead on her own…

“Alright, at least someone has the right idea of taunting the damned thing…” he grumbled with a sigh before pressing the heels of his palms into his eyes.

“Wait for us!” he yelped as he then nodded in Emm’s direction; who then Teleported to the opposite side of the alleyway—an attempt to box the damned thing in while they approached from the other direction!

He’d very nearly gotten an ear chopped off had his Gardevoir not noticed that very intense flash of movement that almost bisected him…

“Yikes, what the fuck?” he exclaimed, while his companion Pokémon shook her head at the fucking insanity that was erupting all around them.

“What’s got them all cheesed off, anyway?”

Never mind, if somewhere in the recesses of his mind, there was a tiny little voice yelling “ORE… SANJOU!!!” complete with dynamic entry playing out like a stupid little scene…

Good news was that he didn’t break anything further, and so whatever little money he had would remain safe for another day.

The bad news was that the person he’d bumped into was… someone he was familiar with!

(And for some reason there was a tiny little green monster yelling in his head that wanted revenge, but that was neither here nor there.)

“Ow… oh, hello Miss Elise,” he finally breathed out once the afterburn that had seared his retinas finally subsided… somewhat. “Let me guess… shopping trip gone wrong?” he continued with a dry attempt at humor before blinking several times.

“Whatever those Delibird have… geez… not kid—” he trailed off as this time, the Delibird-adjacent thing was handing out lit, ignited fireworks!

“Oh, come on!” he hissed, quickly pulling out a Pokéball and hoping on the off-chance he was right; summoning his Gardevoir (thank fuck) that appeared and raised an eyebrow at the insanity that was happening.

“Emm, can you—please, get the fireworks away from everyone before they all explode?!” he gasped, stuffing his fingers into his ears because he knew that some of the fireworks were the really loud, noisy ones that exploded after—

The Gardevoir’s eyes then flashed momentarily, before attempting to use Teleport on as many fireworks as she could spot!

“If anyone has any Pokémon that uh… know Damp or can help me dispose of the fireworks before we have a mess of dismembered fingers, please help!” he continued as he raised his voice; trying to catch whoever was paying attention to the situation at hand.

While Ger stood watch and let the insanity unfold (there had to be at elast one serious member of this entire joint), little did they know that they were about to make their appointment with ‘manifest destiny’, who would appear in the form of a harried, exhausted, and not to mention exasperated white-haired young man that was headed their way.

“Ger? Is that you?! Where are they?” he called, realizing that there was a singular ball of white fluff standing at some point, and he was getting pretty close.

Meanwhile, Lis had continued to gently nip at the strange lady’s fingers—hey, that tickled, at least—and while Wain was running around too fast to be caught, Cyn allowed herself to be caught so it was a two-Wooloo piledown when Jack finally arrived on the—

No, make that a three-Wooloo piledown!

“Is this where you’ve all been?” he would ask all four Wooloo, caught red-handed.

Alas, instead of diverting disaster he’d walked right into even more of it; instead of swiping the weapon out of the way (because for starters wasn’t that shit illegal?!) he then realized he was holding something…

“Oh, fuck’s sake,” he grumbled as he quickly threw the thing that he was handed skyward and immediately shielded, as well as closed his eyes as tightly as possible because he wasn’t that dumb to realize he’d been casually thrown a flash-bang grenade…

Oh, the fallout… this was going to be terrifying.

Just as the damned thing went off with a loud popping noise, he immediately ducked into the cover of the crowd; and waited for the ultra-bright burst of light to cease existing before he continued his search…

Only now, though, since he’d opened his eyes at the exact wrong time there was this eternally-white scorch burned into them. So yes, he was now staggering around blind, his hands flailing about like some random-ass zombie.

“Ow, that’s too bright!” he yelped as he quickly tried to open and close his eyes, bumbling around and crashing into so many random people…

…one of who would happen to be miss Elise Calcifet herself. Whoops!

Okay, to be honest he was here shopping for gifts for his Pokémon (mostly Emm, Cordy and Li) when he thought he saw… huh.

That was a…

That was a strange-looking Delibird…

He was about to take a second look at a Mega Accessory for Emm the Gardevoir (yes, because he had a belated realization that he was lacking in some aspects) when he did a double-take…

Wait a second, why did that child have a gun?!

“Whoa. Okay, hold that thought, I’ll be back,” he reassured the stall owner, hastily returning the Mega Accessory he was eyeing before following the kid that was swinging around a gun.

Shit, what if the gun went off?!

He then looked over at the strange-looking Delibirds, before realizing that it was one of them that was handing out said guns, so…

“S-stop whatever the hell you’re doing!” he yelled, cutting through the crowd and trying to take a flying leap at the not-quite-a-Delibird that was about to hand out a…

Tapus on a cracker was that a fucking shotgun.

The jovial sounds of bleating amidst all the rough-and-tumbling that had toppled over their unintended ‘target’ had caused at least two of them to come to a stop—the one that was seemingly glowering at his fellow Wooloo to stop horsing around was Ger; he had an unimpressed stare and a dark-blue collar where his bell was secured.

‘Beeeeee!’

‘Numoooo!’

‘Be-eh-eh…’

The other female Wooloo, the one known as Cyn, continued to run around in circles as if chasing her own tail… haha. There was an extremely flashy one, the one called Wain—his bright-yellow collar jingling loudly as he ran around the young lady like it was nothing.

(Maybe it was a good thing Lis was the clueless one, after all. Ger was the biter among them!)

The one nicknamed Lis, who wore a white-and-yellow collar, didn’t even shy away from the incoming fingers—instead nipping them gently out of curiosity.

For wasn’t this the same way that she’d gotten to know Jack back then?

Meanwhile, over at the park entrance…

“They’re over where? Th-thank you!” he exclaimed, hurriedly waving before running off in the direction where he’d been pointed at.

Sassy Yamper had been returned to her Pokéball—better safe than sorry—as he then tore through the park area, calling out the names of his pesky herd.

“Lis? Wain?! Where’d you take the other two? I swear, if you lost Cyn and Ger, I’m going to—”
