Wait, what—why wasn’t it working?

Was… was he the only one actively attacking the Druddigon No, wait—

He had to grit his teeth as the attacks began shaking the space, and the Druddigon roared even louder before he could take a second move.

“Again, Emm!” he shouted, though there was no need as the Gardevoir was right beside him—shit, if he had that weird rock that allowed her to change form then he would be of better use here and—

A second burst of fae light emitted by the Gardevoir burst out from their location; but instead of distracting this time the intent to actually attack the Dragon-type with Dazzling Gleam was there.

He thought he saw someone circling dangerously close to where the Druddigon was, and he yelled their way, “Are you fucking nuts? Get outta there before you get buried!”

And that was before the funny hat-wearing Druddigon suddenly lashed out in a powerful Outrage of anger!

For the very first time, he’d actually hissed a word he never thought he’d actually get to use…

“Yabai.”

Little did he realize that he was going to be falling down, down, down—

The landing was going to be rather painful—had his Tyrantrum not taken most of the fall and cushioned him in time for them to come to a bumpy end to their vertical traverse…

“Gor? Hey, Gor!” he yelped, nudging the Tyrantrum, however said dinosaur Pokémon wasn’t responding. The good thing was that he was still breathing, though—so he was just probably knocked out…

“Yikes, not even in the middle of shit and I’m already down a Pokémon,” he grumbled as he pulled himself to his feet and realized that they were smack-dab in the middle of what he guessed was a lava chamber… and there was an angry Dragon Pokémon attacking them!

“…really?!” he sighed as he swapped the Tyrantrum out for his Gardevoir. While he also had no Ice-types, he did have a ‘dragon-killer’, and so took the helm…

By releasing a very powerful (by Gardevoir standards anyway) burst of fae light in the form of a Dazzling Gleam attack.

“Hurry! While it’s blinded, attack it!” he shouted as he shielded his face from the flash-bang like burst of light.

+ swaps out Tyrantrum for Gardevoir, who then uses Dazzling Gleam on the Druddigon to allow an opening for anyone else to attack / repel it back!

The inevitable question had to come up—

What does your character hoard in terms of Pokémon? Like, what’s their #1 “gimme” moment when they see it appear in gachas / wilds / what have you?

Obviously Jackie here has a Wooloo horde, due to his line of ‘work’ being a shepherd. (bonus points if you can guess what his naming trend for all of them are.)

Alexei Ivanov obviously here has the Toucannon Armada™, which is atm 32 members and still growing.

(But that’s not to say that’s the only Pokémon he hoards.)

Birddad™ also has hordes of the following:

• Pelipper — the caveat being here they’re all male
• Wooloo — they’re his spoiled indoor babies
• Rufflet — this was inevitable since he’s from Unova and his starter was a Rufflet
• Delibird — in honor of Locke Jamison

(Maybe we can also turn this into a reference on-site of which character has multiples of what)

Aww, summer was coming to an end.

(At least he had one entire year to never see any more Pyukumuku ever again. Because they were gross, that’s what!)

Good thing, too, because his Mantyke and Mareanie looked to be great working together, so there was that.

“Aw, I know you both still want to go swimming… but the water’s going to get colder from now on, so… make this count!”

He watched and waited until the two returned from the deep, holding something between them.

Cyn the Wooloo could only gape at her fellow ovine—was she eating sugar?! Wasn’t that… unhealthy?!

“Cyn, shh, don’t ruin their fun,” he shushed his ovine, chuckling before realizing he needed to provide context. “See, she’s above eating human food and all that…”

Unable to hold in a fit of laughter, he then bought a funnel cake for himself and began eating it in small chunks.

“See,” he continued around the cake in his mouth, “…she’s the member of my herd who only prefers to eat—” and here he had to drop off and spell the word ‘berries’ by the letter because he knew that Cyn was smart enough to recognize the ‘b’ word when said by anyone nearby.

“So yeah. At least I don’t have to worry about losing my food around her!” he added with another laugh.

The find after the Mega Stone was rather… anticlimactic, for lack of a better term.

At least he had a steady supply of Pokéballs now, but the thing is, he was a picky, capricious creature who preferred certain Pokémon more than others!

“What’d you get this time?” he asked the Mantyke, who was riding the waves on the surface of the water, something held in her mouth.

“You have… no idea,” he wheezed. “All my Wooloo are disobedient… well, except one. Just one of them. All of them are extremely stubborn and my Yamper can’t herd them to save her life. Here’s to hoping my Shinx can help her learn,” he grumbled as he folded his arms over his chest.

He then realized that… he’d forgotten to eat the rest of the food he’d brought along during their search! Now would be a good time to retrieve… the squashed spam sandwich from his pocket.

“In all that excitement, I forgot to eat this, too,” he chuckled as he took a bite from the sandwich. “There’s a stand somewhere around the fair that sells Alolan snacks so I had to get some of those,” he chuckled.

Nodding at what the other’s show was about, he wondered…

“You know, I very well may check out your show later, if you’d have me,” he offered.

That was one helluva pretty rock. It even looked like there was power crackling off its edges, too, so there was that!

Thanks to him and his penchant for balance (it came with being a surfer) he was able to clear most of the obstacles easy—the ones that involved running and moving around frequently with his legs, at least!

Hilariously enough, though, he was already at the Wall Climb—see, being Alolan didn’t just mean being a surfer, it also meant climbing tall trees for coconuts as well—and he did an impossible leap from one lower climbing stud to a higher one, looking like he was flying.

Thanks to his lower body strength, of course!

In no time flat he’d scrambled over the top and had hit the buzzer, signifying he’d finished the course, waiting for her to show up.

Whew, that was a run for the ages.

He would scramble off the thunder cat’s back as fast as his legs would allow, before walking over to where the Wooloo was looking incredibly stunned at all the… all the everything that was going on around her.

Thankfully, though, he had the chewed-through yellow ribbon proving ownership—there were little bits and pieces of yellow ribbon that were stuck to one of her ears still dangling there. How they stayed on there, was a mystery.

“Lis!” he admonished the Wooloo once he was close enough, hands on his hips. “What did I tell you about running off?!”

All he got was an embarrassed bleat in answer. Oy.

Once he was done giving the Wooloo a good talking-to, he then recalled the ovine back into her Pokéball with a sigh. Geez. Why did this feel like a colossal game of tug-of-war between himself and his Wooloo herd?!

Anyway.

“What exactly are you going to be up to in your show?” he asked his companion.

Surely it wasn’t going to be as wild as the ear-banging show he’d witnessed previously, right?

That was a rather expensive-looking shiny shard they found yesterday. Putting it side by side with the other ones he’d found so far, this one looked… decidedly different from the other three.

“Huh. Wonder what this one’s used for,” he mused quietly as his Mareanie was the one who emerged from the surf this time, holding something in her… hair…

“Did you disturb any Pokémon underwater?” he asked the dual-type, giving her a stern look.

“No? Good.”
