He looked at the man across with him, he looked at him really for the first time; his eyes squinted, stopped in place and placed his arm by his side.

”No, the hell. I ain’t helping you out with a suicide, you ain’t even tryna protect yourself.” He said with a sigh, he rubbed the back of his head and looked down at the floor for a moment before he looked at the man again.

”Everything alright? I ain’t very reliable, but if you need to talk I’m here. Don’t need to hurt yourself in a fight.” He said as he waited up the time, he didn’t want to be part of some dudes self harm.

Also, he didn’t want to be killed for killing one of his bosses.

Kouji walked the other way, each step was slow, carefully picked, and sorted; his eyes didn’t shoot back, he didn’t know Alba, he didn’t know what the truck was about, he didn’t know if there was a mission.

He was simply a man on a mission right now, it had been a while since he could slide into this mindset.

He kept count under his breath as he turned on the spot the moment he found a corner and rounded back around towards the van, hands in his pocket; cap rolled down, breath kept even, he didn’t even look forward but at the ground. His head was in his mind, and his mind was in his head, thoughts carefully concerned.

Space was opening up in front of him, they were going inside, and the raid would occur in a second, he would have to roll into the back of that truck, take what was needed, and prepare for a fight just in case.

Kouji looked at the falling Combee, and sighed.

”You’ve really got no idea of blood pumping thrilling fights, huh?” He looked over to her from the corner of his eyes. They would need to capture some of these, sell them off, and then she could do whatever she wanted with that Queen.

”Tyranitar, watch out for any of them waking up, use Rock Slide if they do.” He said as he looked on at the core of the large nest that stood broken, shattered; the rubble and branches that seemed to lay all over this place.

”What do you want to do with the Queen to begin with?” He asked just as a heavy buzzing filled the air, Vespiqueen, the queen of this hive was coming out to greet them, it looked banged up.

But it didn’t seem to hold her back greatly, as she hovered menacingly above them. ”Roc-” Just as she released a bug buzz into the air, a vibration that hit his Tyranitar in the core, and caused him to reel backwards, and fell to a knee, but he used that moment to grip the ground with its claws, and threw it upwards into the air to fall down onto the Vespiqueen.

”I fucking hate bugs.”

Kouji shook his head as he looked at the display in front of him.

But he didn’t disagree.

That was what bothered him the most, a seed perhaps, but it had been planted there, ready to be seen. He looked on at the man in front of him, the man who spoke the truth, and then to his partner, he nodded.

Violence was his forte in this mission, and so he did, a slide forward, he charged into the man with his shoulder, and then pushed up, as if jumping to land it to his chin, a powerful strike concealed as a desperate shove. He used that to push his weight onto the man, to land on top of him, and then pin his arms down with his knees, his feet crossed over together behind him.

He felt spit hit the side of his face, which only made the smirk on his face grow just a little bit more as he began to drop his fists on the man’s face; it was rough, but aimed. One for his nose, another at the cheek, he made sure to avoid the bonier parts of the man’s face.

”Just tell me to stop whenever you want me to, pretty boy.”

Kouji looked at his Tyranitar, his now; and watched how she rode upon it; the pokemon seemed to look at him with barely concealed rage, it wasn’t one he had trained, but it was one he was ready to beat if it came down to it.

”Settle down boy, we ain’t got time for scuffles. I’ll be sure to give you as many blood pumping fights as you want.”

He spoke with a smirk, his eyes settled against his pokemon’s own, and then to Shalin as Tyranitar began to march forward step by step, before it charged forward with a head charge against a tree.

”Enjoying it?” He said with a cocky smirk as his Tyranitar turned and ran the other way, as if trying to shake her from his back, and feel the wind running through his spikes.

Kouji in the haze of unconsciousness that threatened to take over him still managed to feel the protective glow around him, the slowing of his descent. He could feel it, but he couldn’t move, exhaustion took over him, struggling to even turn his head to look at the voice that called out to him with concern.

He mustered all the power that existed within him, to put the words that sat in his mind. The only proper reply to someone showing this much concern for him, a person like himself. It would only be right for him to respond.
<p>
”Shut the fuck up….I’m tired.”

There was nothing there afterwards as he slumped out; his eyes had gone cold; the succour of being healed had managed to lull him to a proper sleep; the outside world no longer mattered to him.

In this mirror match of pokemon and men, Kouji found himself stuck; he’d lose, he could feel it approaching him. He felt it with the tightness in his throat, in the cold sweat that dripped down his back, in the dryness of his mouth. It was a certain defeat, but he wouldn’t, couldn’t call for help.

He was sick of being useless.

But…If they failed because of his pride, he’d be even more useless, so he took in a deep breath, and just as he was about to quash the last of that terrible ichor that was pointless pride, the wind whistled subtly, he had barely caught it, but just as he looked; Cygne had fallen onto his clone, and the Absol was attacked with a dragon breath.

And clobber Absol did, a close combat that was delivered onto that creature, forcing it backwards, and knocking it out until it was back into data. But the Unown weren’t done with them yet, Cygne was here, but where was Kaname?
[break][break]Just as he had time to think on that, the Unown danced around them, the world began to shift as they formed the surrounding materials into a large structure, a…Medieval siege weapon of some kind, he had never done well in school; so he had no idea.

But it launched some kind of large boulder, flinging it powerfully into the distance, as if gauging its own power. ”Hey hey hey, if we let that thing get us, we’re done for. Absol, use detect.” He said as he looked at the strange contraption, and then his last thought returned as they danced around again, this time forming a collection of Ice to surround them.

”Okay…Fuck, where is Kaname, and secondly, RUN.” He said as he leapt out of the way of a series of ice shards formed by Hidden Power, which filled the place he had been standing on.

”I’ll try to bring back Kaname..” He said as he tried to guess where they cou-, perhaps that large brick building? ”Looks like that large thing there is the place, Absol; use Psycho Cut.” And so it did, a large purple slicing wave that sought the Cylindrical brick…thingie.

The landscape was beginning to shift in front of Kouji; grass knots began to start. What was with that call?

It was strange, it was unexpected, it reminded him of Cillian’s clicks, a unique way to give orders that didn’t let someone else figure out what you were doing. Kouji had no such thing, either letting is pokemon attack on their own will, or giving direct orders. ”Meowscarada, avo-”

But it was struck by a terrifying look as it locked up, fear paralyzed its muscles, made it feel heavier as fear sunk into each and every one of her muscles. ”Oi, snap out of it…” He murmured, but that wouldn’t do it, he had lost his advantage.

”Meowscarada, use Flower Gift.” He said as his Pokemon threw out the bouquet of flowers across the field, a terrible flower gift right against the protection in an attempt to break through, a foolhardy one.

”Oi oi, don’t you think that’s a bit of a cheap trick?” Kouji tried to put some mirth in his voice yet it rang hollow, as if trying to retake control of the present situation.

Kouji cracked his neck as he considered that; he spun the knife in his hand, and then nodded slowly. ”You’re one of my bosses anyway, but sure. I’ll work for ya if I lose.” He wasn’t that ambitious; but he didn’t want to stay a grunt for the rest of his life.

Being someone’s personal underling was a stopgate; a man became chained…Wait, that was a thought train he didn’t want to delve down into too deeply. His charge stopped, he leapt back; it was strange, but there wasn’t the reaction he expected. ”Alright, prepare yourself.” He spoke once more.

Kouji kept the smirk on his face as he circled his opponent, he was confident in his fighting, he was confident when it came to hurting, but had he ever faced a true professional before? He was a brawler, a good fighter, but was he a trained killer?

His golden eyes shot from the man’s armpits, his groin, his neck, his chest, all of them were guarded, his eyes locked to the bow and arrow as he slid his foot forward attempting to slid it between Bryan’s own, before trying to flick it outwards in order to unbalance him, a bow was hard than a one’s fist, he didn’t want to be hit with it, and so he went slash at it with his knife.

It was a stopgap, a piece of tape holding himself together, but he could fill in the cracks whenever he had the chance, build his confidence through results, once more, once again.

He was assured of that, and so he looked to the bar; rumbled around in his pockets, food courtesy of Amor, that seemed just fine. ”Don’t go biting off too much though, wouldn’t want you to become a brow-beaten career gym leader.” He said as he put the money down on the table and turned to leave through the door.

Kouji nodded slowly, his head turned to the side to look at Isaac as the man gave his answer, the Rocket Grunt didn’t know how long that was in the great scale of things, in the present scale of the organisation. But, he knew it wasn’t long, yet it was far longer than he himself had been a part of it.

”Two months.” The battle within the ultra deep sea had been his first taste of this life, and it had gotten him hooked. The smuggling that he had done with his father held a distinct place in his mind, rooted deeply in his memories. But even those days, those long days spent at sea were solidly in the realm of petty criminal acts, where the thrill seldom soared. A flicker of a pair of memories flashed through his mind, memories he held fondly, but those were the exceptions, he wouldn’t return to that life. His time at rocket, his time in this organisation had already given him so many.

But the pokemon in front changed, and began to match Absol, it was a mirror copy, but then came the problem ahead of them, a strange sound, and the letter like pokemon began to swirl around them.

”We might be screwed here buddy.” He said with a difficult expression on his face.
