Lucas took a camera out from his bag and began photographing the slab. The moment he'd taken the final photo Kyle extracted the slab from the wall. Lucas cringed slightly as he watched the elite four member's ungloved hands wrap around the artifact.

"Just a moment," Lucas said when Kyle held the artifact out. Bending down he set down the padded carrying case and cracked it open. With gloved hands he'd then take the tablet and place it into the carrying case.

Still driven to delve deeper Lucas released a togepi. Mustering up all its infant strength it conjured up a water pulse that collided with the wall.

When the ground beneath them began to shake Lucas' hand flew to his fanny pack. With one hand he combed through the fanny packs contents. His eyes dart between the contents and his surroundings, ever vigilant of the falling debris.

Taking a page out of Kyle's book Lucas Lane released a donphan. Mimicking the elite four's arcanine the donphan also used a bulldoze in an attempt to counteract the shaking earth.

Lucas, like any good and responsible trainer, was walking his anoriths and favorite geodude. Each pulled on their geodude print leash and kept them taut near non-stop.

"Oh look there, a bunch of gigalith." Lucas pointed with his free hand. "Don't see those every-" he stopped abruptly when their rampage became apparent. "Oh no no no," Lucas pulled the leashes toward himself, which was in direct opposition of the pokemon who were pulling forward. Each eager to confront the swarm. "Let's just stop this walk here and turn back."

When Lucas turned around he found their path blocked by a pokemon that splintered off from the swarm. It showed little interest in them, instead sniffing at a half filled garbage can. Quietly, with one hand, Lucas unzipped his fanny pack and reached inside, hand rummaging for an empty pokeball. He shoved aside a small prepackaged bag of chocolate rocks to find the single empty pokeball he had. Pulling it out he'd gently toss it at the rock pokemon.

When the pokemon was consumed in a flash of light Lucas sprinted towards the pokeball. "Go go go!" He kicked the pokeball as far as he could so they could make a safe getaway.

When their strong $50 flashlights couldn't pierce the darkness Lucas resorted to his Lanturn. He released the pokemon who, true to their namesake, shone through the darkness and illuminated the way. Bending down Lucas picked up the light pokemon and held it under one arm. Every few seconds he ran a hand across its scales and looked down to check on its health.

Lucas sharply inhaled when Bailey punched him. Despite the punch being light the head scientist was in pain, because he was a massive pussy when it came to pain.

Lucas kneeled by the amaura and pointed toward the wall. "Ice beam." The amaura's frills went rigid and its crystals pulsed with a white light briefly before an ice beam shot out its maw. Ice snakes across the cavern wall, capturing a reflection of all the trainers.

When the rocks fell away Lucas returned his gyarados and snapped several pictures of what they'd unearthed. After sliding his phone away in his pocket he put on a pair of gloves from his fanny pack. Delicately Lucas began to extract the stones from the wall. After safely removing them he placed each gently within a padded carrying case.

"Bailey Bailey Bailey Bailey," Lucas called out at the mention of dragon tail. "Hit the wall gently," he put emphasis on the last word. "Just like a uh, a dragon tickle instead. Tails too much."

Lucas released his tyrantrum which he carefully positioned and directed. "Like so, dragon tickle." The tyrantrum's tail pulsed with a muddy brown energy as it gently caressed the wall.

The gyarados stretched its body upon release from Lucas' pokeball. Immediately Lucas locked eyes with the beast.

"Gently hit," Lucas rapped his knuckles against the cavern wall. "Gently."

Its tail gently bounced against a section of the wall. Chunks of stone fell away from the cavern wall at the initial beating, but quickly transitioned to mere flakes. The sight of a finding beneath the stone spurred the gyarados to practice restraint.
