Lucas' eyes rolled at Gavin's feigned ignorance moments before the Dusknoir's attack bypassed Aegislash and tore into his chest in clear view of the phone. He cried out in pain as the claw tore through him. Blood gushed from the wounds and soaked into his shirt, making it cling tightly to his chest. Lucas' free hand is clutched to his chest in a vain attempt to help with the bleeding. Eyes dart back to the dusknoir for a second to take in the dark shadow aura that emanated from its body.

When Lucas cried out in pain the Machamp would drop its hold on Lucario and rush to the man that'd once been his patient. Should it reach him it'd pick him up with two arms and apply pressure to the wounds with the remaining.

"No." Lucas barked a cert response at Gavin before gently patting Machamp with his bloodied hand. "Not you."

With the head scientist in its arms the Machamp sprinted for the stair case to find medical help. Aegislash, ditto-reuniclus, and shiftry attempt to provide protection from the Rocket duo and porygon should they attack. A King's Shield, Psychic, and Low Kick prepared respectively.

When the wormhole opened its hellish drew Lucas' attention. His head and phone poked above the Machamp's hulking figure to see porygon come through the portal.

-Machamp runs toward the stairs w/ Lucas
-Remaining pokemon attempt to follow and provide protection if Lucas is attacked. Aegislash with King's Shield, ditto-reuniclus with Psychic, and Shiftry with Low Kick.

Night had descended upon the region and severao people were still trapped within the tangrowth's clutches. Acquainted with the Tangrowth's desires Lucas released his Frosmoth.

Frosmoth painted the block with a mesmerizing aurora veil. Its shifting lights painted the surrounding buildings and set the stage for frost moth pokemon. Mustering a tailwind into existence with several strained flaps of its wings it launched itself up into the night sky in front of the tangrowth. Memorized by the performance the tangrowth looked toward Lucas' frosmoth and locked eyes with it. Frosmoth winked its eyes to attract the tangrowth and ease the bindings on the civilians.

Lucas Lane joined the councilman at his assigned door. In preparation for the raid he released a swampert who's skin glistened with an oily substance.

"Get your sylveon to hold still."

Cautiously Lucas' swampert approached Sylveon. When it was safe to draw close swampert would begin to run its hands over the near entirety of sylveon's body. Each wipe of its hands left behind oil that clung to the sylveon's skin, making it blast resistant.

Clad in safety equipment it took the head scientist a moment of fumbling to release his amaura. It stretched its legs and neck on release before looking up expectedly at Lucas Lane.

"Come on little fella," Lucas said as he bent down and picked up the Amaura. Holding it in one arm he pointed with his free hand toward a tree with cocoons dangling from its branches. "Freeze the branches." The amaura looked up at him and blinked. After a short sigh Lucas would point again at the tree and blow wind out his mouth. Mimicking an ice beam to the fossil pokemon. Wagging its stub-like tail happily mimicked its trainer. It released an ice beam and refrigerated the branches around the cocoons to cool them down.

When Mateo left the door ajar Lucas frowned for a split second. Intent on having a private conversation with Mateo he pushed his chair out and walked across the room. "Sort of," Lucas said as he quietly shut and locked the door to his office.

"Remember that stone we let you borrow?" Lucas sat back down in his office chair. "I think it's about time we heard about your findings. So, let's start with the light." It was a puzzling development, and one of the few things they could learn about the stone before signing off on its temporary release. "Where'd it lead you?"

The head scientist leaned forward in his chair, eager to hear about what'd became of the Soul Dew he was supposed to study.

Lucas sat at his computer typing away at the keyboard as he replied to emails. Save for a pencil holder, a monitor, and a keyboard the desk he sat at looked completely barren.

When Mateo would inevitably step into Lucas' office he would find a tastefully decorated office with a few personal touches of the head scientist here and there. The most notable being three masks that resemble yamask masks hanging on the wall directly opposite the door.

"Mateo, come take a seat." Lucas motioned to a pair of padded chairs in front of his desk. As Mateo would enter the room he would lock his computer and switch off the monitor to give the man his full attention.

After barking orders to his pokemon Lucas whipped out his phone. He ignored the text message and attached photo from , instead swiping once on his phone and tapping the appropriate buttons twice to start recording a video that'd be automatically saved to the cloud. As he pointed the camera toward 's dusknoir out of frame Lucas attempted to release Aegislash to protect himself with King's Shield.

Impeded by Lucario Machamp would begin to tussle with the aura pokemon instead. It'd attempt to lock hands with Lucario and push it to the ground with its immense strength.

"Shiftry pin her down!" Lucas barked as its body collided with the gym leader's body, sending her sprawling on the floor. The shiftry quick attacked onto the gym leader to pin her to the cold basement floor.

The ditto, who'd been clinging to Lucas Lane's body since they entered the wormhole, began to rapidly contort when the Dusknoir began its attack. Its body fell to the ground in front of the scientist, its once pink flesh now dirtied with streaks of blue as it attempted to become an impostor of Reuniclus. As its body bubbled and congealed it'd attempt to protect at the soonest opportunity.

"What? Same side? I saw you using Blacephelon, which attacked both Slateport and Littleroot! It's an ultra beast used by Megalopolans for god's sake. It's in tech we've never even seen!" Like a waterfall the words came surging from the head scientist's mouth. "If you're really on our side hand me over that blue pokeball." He'd seen it when the woman returned Blacephelon earlier. "That's all you need to do. If I'm right it's already fainted, so it shouldn't be an issue."

Every time someone entered the lobby Lucas would look up to see if it was Fernando. Almost immediately Lucas head would dip down again after seeing it wasn't Fernando. This continued for a frustratingly long time till Fernando finally showed.

"Fernando," Lucas locked his phone and slid it into his pocket as he stood. "Not long at all." He replied politely as he strode toward the Councilman.

"Haha, I hope so," Le chuckled at Fernando's joke. "Let's head to the lab and get started, shall we?" He turned his body toward a set of guards and outfitted security checkpoint. It was outfitted with metal detectors and a special machine to check the contents of pokeballs.

When Lucas' ninjask, adorned with a tracker, approached the nihilego it was with a small swarm of lookalikes summoned by double team. They buzzed through the air till they could see the Nihilego with full clarity.

Black ichor spouted out the arms of each Ninjask. Their arms and claws become coated in the semi transparent liquid which rippled constantly. In sync each Ninjask rose their arms and made a slashing motion that caused the black ichor to be flung towards the otherworldly pokemon.
