The detector remained silent in Lucas' hand as he traversed the cave. Winding through the cave he couldn't help but wonder. How did the meteors make land here? There was no opening in the top of the cave. No way an impact crater could be in the falls. But here they were, countless of them. All empty too. Another mystery. Ideas swirled around in Lucas' head, explanations for how the cave formed, how the meteors might have landed, where they went.

A wild jellicent crossed the head scientist's path. A deep gurgling sound emanates from the water type. It spurred the Glaceon and Aegislash to defend their trainer. The cave erupts with sound as the pokemon fight, ending as fast as it started. Lucas walked past the limp body left from the fight. A thought struck him as he looked towards its lifeless eyes. What if a pokemon were the source of the meteors landing here and their disappearance?

Lucas looked around the cave attentively. It was perfectly quiet save for the sound of his and glaceon's footsteps. The occasional droplet of water would break the cycle. Alongside the scientist floated an aegislash. It acted as his bodyguard, the pokemon's defensive capabilities world renown.

He unzipped the bag that hanged by his side. The sound echoed off the walls. Out of the bag the scientist pulled a device the size and shape of a phone. It hummed to life at the press of a button. It took several beats of navigating the menu before Lucas moved through the cave once again. He glanced at the screen occasionally.

Lucas made his way through the swirling staircases of the tower. Occasionally he'd stop for the briefest moment. Ancient art adorned the tower's walls. He yearned to take it all with him, to add each one to his collection. Each and every piece was priceless. Alas, the collector didn't have the time. Footsteps echoed through the many floors of the tower as he ran up and up. He felt as if there was no end in sight, till he heard it. The cries of battle, of pain.

The head scientist inched up the last steps that lead to the top floor. His head poked out, taking in what was happening on the top floor.

People were fighting. It was crazy.

Explosions startled the brunette momentarily. Falling back to the safety of the staircase Lucas went over his options. It'd take a few beats for him to plan out his next actions. "Rapid spin. On my command, we teleport," he said. The claydol hummed in understanding. Lucas and claydol rushed up the stairs and into the smokescreen. Claydol span, sending the smoke reeling off the edges of the tower floor. An eye caught sight of Boris and Jirachi. "Teleport, now!"

Lucas pulls down his scarf first as he begins to undo his layers. A hand runs through his mahogany hair, fluffing it up before unbuttoning his coat. As they walk in silence towards the recess of the center he turns over the name Amavi in his head. He knew that name. It felt so familiar.

"Artifacts, there's artifacts?" He couldn't believe he was hearing of this now. Lucas thought nothing made it out, that the rescuers were lucky to have gotten out alive. "I didn't think any made it out, honestly. I had plans to talk to FERNANDO SILPH about the event. Are the artifacts under League custody, or?" He meant to imply if there were any for sale, any he could get for himself.

"Oooh" the flickering red lights caught his eye. "That's uh" the flickering stops, the lights becoming solid red over numerous pieces of machinery. "That's not suppose to happen. Hey somebody, security! We've got a problem!" He calls out down a corridor, but there was no one besides Persephone in earshot. "This is not good, not not good." His ability of perception was truly extraordinary. Unfamiliar with the machinery he begins to walk around the room, eyes moving across everything in sight. All in search of maybe an emergency switch, instructions for what to do in the event of an emergency, anything to help the duo.

Lucas went to the shrine to both look around and offer his monetary support. Shrines these days didn't have as many members attending ceremonies. Which meant less money was brought it, threatening the continuation of shrines as maintenance costs rose. Knowing this the man came to make an offer. His monthly support in exchange for artifacts from the shrine. He knew how far back some of them went, and was intent on adding them to his collection. Some might think a shrine would never do that, but money was a powerful tool of persuasion.

As the collector leisurely made his way to the shrine he notices kids run past him from the its direction. Fear written over them. Worried he breaks into a sprint. As the shrine came into view he saw billowing smoke coming from it. The shrine is burning, but more importantly its artifacts are burning. Tossing a ball into the air Lucas releases his gyarados, crushing the nearby flora. "Ladon, rain dance!" Anger fills his voice. Running inside the holy ground he releases an Aegislash and Kabutops that flank him. Footsteps can be heard not far ahead. Whether they were ones of a person fleeing, or a person rushing forward he was wasn't sure.
