A Tera Test [Zachary & Josh Mission]

Prof's Yew was a little bothered by the Goat Pokemon and Josh's rather bored reaction over the explanation. Perhaps it was the teacher in her, but she did appreciate Zachary's attention. After all, he had only just learned about Terrastellization and to him, this was all vital things to learn. At Josh's request, she nodded. "Sure-- of course " [break][break] Zachary sighed with a weak smile at Josh's bored reaction like a trouble kid in class. Dizzy, far better mannered, just shook his head in silent judgement of Josh's behavior. [break][break] Back to the matter at hand, Prof. Yew cleared her throat and pointed to the chart she made. "Think of the crystalized state as a prism-- how it focuses and refracts light, bouncing it around. Through this the natural attributes of a Pokemon are amplified. Pokemon who have different tera attributes will have the moves of the same attributes enhanced. For example, let's say we have ... actually , your Delphox is a perfect example. " she drew a mock version of Dizzy on the board. [break][break] Dizzy gave a snort of rejection-- not liking the artist rendering. [break][break] "Let's say your pokemon knew a variety of moves, psychic, fire, AND-- for discussion's sake, ghost. " she explained, drawing the related trait symbols above the figure. "When Terastelized to the attribute of Ghost-- any ghost moves it would know, would be enhanced tremendously via the power of this effect. However, what you described what happened in Area Zero, it was fire. Correct?" she asked. [break][break] Zachary nodded to confirm. So did Dizzy. [break][break] "What happens when a Pokemon Terastellizes to the attribute its predisposed to-- the power skyrockets even further, being twice -- if not more so-- as strong as it would normally with any normal enhancement. It would be on par to the effects as one who experiences Mega Evolution might experience." she explained and finally put her marker away. [break][break] Zachary was very interested, and found value in her explanation. "So how can we use it outside of Area Zero? I mean it be great to have Dizzy or any of my other Pokemon have the same power." Zachary said, his excitement showing very plainly. [break][break]
Prof. Yew smiled and gave a glance to Josh. "Why don't we take this to the observation lab. There we should have a bit more room to explore these options..." she said. [break][break]
They all reconviened in a wider area-- a laboratory room. While still containing special equipment and machines, it had a wide skylight and plenty of space for larger pokemon and things. Effectively, it was ideal to do it. "In order to use Terastellization, you will need one of these..." Prof Yew said as she went to a nearby table and picked up a box. She returned to Zachary and opened it. [break][break] Inside was a violet orb, which oddly looked to be made of jade, or another kind of crystal. The symbol on the front was not a circle but a hexagon shape. Zachary blinked at it, finding it odd, it being shaped no different than a Pokeball. [break][break] "This is a Tera Orb. Its made of the same crystals found in Area Zero, and it allows the harness of that Trestellar energy that caused the transformation. " she explained as she offered it to Zachary. [break][break] Zachary carefully picked up the object, feeling heavy in his grasp for a moment. [break][break]

Dancing to the Tune of Battle!

Happy's Dazzling Gleam was a good effect, if nothing else adding a new 'dance stage' for the happy Mime. However, the battle got real right then and there. Zachary saw it as did Happy-- as the enemy soon used Phantom Force. It opened a portal of darkness and slipped right through. Zachary had seen this before-- when he fought Haunter (aka Greed) in Mt. Pyre! SO did Happy. As Happy continued to dance with Metronome , they had no choice but to wait. "Keep sharp, Happy. Remember like last time." Zachary urged. What happy lacked in evolution-- he made up for with experience. They both did. [break][break] At the exact same time that Phantom Force and Arron's Dhelmise began to appear, the Metronome also finished-- and Happy glowed with a burning red aura. [break][break] "Happy! Above yoU!" Out came the ghost pokemon, attempting to drop right on top of happy! The thing COMPLETELY BYPASSED HAPPY'S REFLECT! [break][break] However, Happy had moved with a blur of fire, just avoiding a critical hit from it. At most, the impact knocked Happy forward-- but that was to its advantage. In that instant, Happy used its temporary power-- Flame Charge! The little Mime Jr. volted right up against his own magical wall-- and using Flame Charge throttled itself right against the Dhelmgist! It not only dodged the majority of its attack-- but counter-attacked using the fiery boost. It also made Happy far faster too! [break][break] "I-Incredible! That little pip-squeak used Metronome and pulled out a powerful counter-attack with Flame Charge! In all my years as an announcer, I haven't seen anything like this!" the referee announced-- which had now drawn the attention of the majority of the battle arena. Half of the audience was cheering for Arron to crush the Mime Jr already, while the other half was completely stupefied to see the Mime Jr hold its own this long and do this much damage already! [break][break] Zachary smiled, relieved and thrilled Happy adapted well to Metronome. He had not known how it would work-- but it was times like this he was thrilled it could! But there was a bigger problem now. That Dhelmhist could just slip right through their protective barriers. It was then Zachary's eyes widened-- remember what ghosts were vulnerable to. If Dazzling Gleam couldn't do any good-- then another Ghost could. [break][break] "Happy quick-- Use Mimic!" Zachary instructed. Having witnessed the move first hand, Happy locked eyes on the Dhelmgist-- and soon Happy glowed, memorizing the move the ghost just did. [break][break] While it now had the moved memorized-- it had to wait for the right moment. Using it would be risky otherwise without the right timing. So happy had to hold on and wait. For now, they had to hope luck was on their side, and if need be Metronome could save their butts again. [break][break]

Getting their Feet wet [ Mission]

Some of the fondest memories Zachary had of Johto was the trips to the museum and aquariums when he was in school. Though the time for nostalgia was long gone, as his family now choose to move from there to Hoenn of all places-- Zachary still felt happy to learn there were such places of education and enjoyment like here. So for a well deserve break after Excursions, Wilds and Rocket encounters-- it was time for some R&R in the city. [break][break] Slateport was not his favorite place to go, but it was the central hub of all of Hoenn and now held a special aquarium for aquatic study and amusement. Zachary stood before the massive complex, by his side was his Delphox-- Dizzy, and his Mime Jr-- Happy. Both looked in awe-- Dizzy with caution with so much water, and Happy with overjubilant joy on his little face. [break][break] "Come on, let's go check it out. " Zachary said with encouragement as they entered the aquarium. [break][break] Fond memories of the old one rushed in his head, as he saw large tanks filled with all kinds of aquatic life, from small exotic colored fish, to large Dewgon and Sharpedos behind thick glass and in tunnels where the only light came from the tanks. [break][break] This place was no different. THough a bit empty as it was an weekday, there was still a healthy amount of people there. They entered via his league pass-- which allowed visits, but still, things seemed a bit slow. There was a lack of certain Pokemon. Perhaps it was a quiet day or they were moved for cleaning the observation tanks? Who knew...[break][break] Zachary took a moment to approach a nearby display map, showing the layout of the facility and attractions to see. Perhaps there was a place for even the aquatic Pokemon he had with him. [break][break]

New Places, New Faces (GC Excursion A: Explore)

While the place was indeed tense, Zachary had gotten used to Area Zero, and more so-- being prepared and why they had Kirlia with them. At her question, Zachary tried to be formal but also friendly. He didn't have any alterior motive, but was being a bit reckless being here alone. He couldn't put his finger on it, but he got the feeling she didn't trust him. After his run in with a Rocket down here-- he couldn't blame her for being on guard. [break][break] "Well, there have been odd pokemon running around. Especially one called Gourging Fire-- which is very dangerous. That Moron Ozni almost got killed by one if we didn't save him. " Zachary explained, "But yeah we learned a lot about the Tera crystals down here, along with the other worlds this place connects to. It's a shame we can't explore further... " [break][break] Zachary frowned a bit, knowing he shouldn't of been down here alone... again. "I really shouldn't be here, but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. How could I not go exploring the nexus of different worlds here? We already know that these Paradox Pokemon are crossing over here because of it." he said with a smile of excitement. [break][break] Dizzy gave a concerning bark, trying to keep his human partner's excitement tempered. It would be reassuring to Johanna that the Fox pokemon seemed to be the 'voice of reason' here. [break][break] Still, Zachary saw the clear signs of struggle around them. [break][break] To drive home the biggest discovery he had there personally-- was the Terrastellar Phenominon these crystals caused. "The biggest thing is this place is the source of Terrastellar Phanominon in Pokemon. It's so very cool!" Zachary said with enthusiasm, recalling how Dizzy went all 'prismatic foil super-rare' on him. [break][break]

As Prophet tried to explain, it was how Eris exacted the words made it-- made Zachary feel a little bad. "Well My Pokemon has never tried that. I mean, Dizzy here can use Mystical Fire to create images true -- but Prophet is... a bit unique, even for a psychic type."Zachary explained as best as he could. [break][break] Dizzy too gave a puzzled look at the prophetic bird. [break][break] It was then that the Xatu turned around, using its big wings as cover as it attempted to get something from its plumage and ducked his head. Oh no... here it comes... Zachary thought, soon seeing Prophet turn around. [break][break] Prophet the Xatu now stood before them, but now wearing a very odd attire-- his favorite 'detective hat' he gotten a while back from his hoarding days. Along with a small magnifying glass it held with its feathers. Zachary called this "Detective Prophet, Miracle Eye" mode, as his Pokemon seemed to love finding things gone missing. [break][break] As if to illustrate this, The Xatu once again got up close to Eris and her Luxray, the magnifying glass very close to their faces. [break][break]However, the fact the pokemon was acting like this, was a big hint. Something in the town was missing and probably overheard it from people or pokemon flying by. Ozni used his Porygon to at least defend himself but that wasn't going to stop the Gourging Fire. They had now really pissed it off as Oznai FINALLY got to where Zachary was. With rather odd word choice, he took a hold of Kirlia-- probably a bit too strong for the little Pokemon. There wasn't time to recall their pokemon and only hoped the jerk was touching his Porygon as well as him doing the same. [break][break] Zachary took a firm hold of Dizzy, and soon to Kirlia-- just as Goruging Fire began to inhale.[break][break] An Inferno Attack![break][break] "Kirlia! Get us out of here NOW!" Zachary cried with urgency as he took hold of the little Pokemon's small arm. Kirlia understood well and more so cared for his trainer and friends. With a squeak of urgency itself-- Kirlia focused, and glowed with a multi-colored aura. That same aura shined over all of them that touched it. [break][break] The Inferno soon erupted, waves of flames now rushing towards them. Just as it was a couple meters away, the party's form shimmered-- and then vanished as in a flash, they vanished. The blaze consumed the cave, followed by a vengeful roar from the Gouging Fire. [break][break]

[break][break] In the blink of an eye, their settings changed, and soon Zachary found himself back at the familiar grounds of the camp. Kirlia had teleported them all back to safety, the camp to their backs. Lucky for them, none of them was hit by the fire-- well, maybe Ozni's pants were a little on fire for being such an impulsive jerk. [break][break] A heavy sigh escaped Zachary as he looked around. "Is everyone alright?" Zachary asked, looking over to make sure everyone was there. Dizzy gave a positive bark, the Delphox more now just running a paw over its fur to 'clean himself'. The Kirlia however knelt down, tired. Teleporting multiple people always took a toll on a Psychic type. Zachary soon knelt down to it, easily patting to ease its exhaustion. "Thank you, Kirlia. I know that was a lot of work. I hope you know how much I appreciate it." he said. To which, Kirlia looked up and gave a reassuring smile and chirp. [break][break] Glad to see everyone was okay-- Zachary turned to Ozni, and glared daggers at him. If he was still filming over all this, Zachary might break his camera himself. His reckless showboating almost gotten them all killed! [break][break]

Between a Rocket and Hard Place [AZ Excursion A Exploration]

Things were getting out of hand quick! In another flash, a new Pokemon Zachary had never seen emerged. This one looking like a robotic poppet with working clockwork in it. "What are these things anyway?" Zachary murmured as he took out his Pokedex. [break][break]

" Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokemon. A mythical pokemon with sharp claws and lightning-fast speeds, capable of tearing its prey to shreds with electrified claws. "

"Magnearna, the Artifical Pokemon. A mythical pokemon, A pokemon constructed by man over 500 years ago. Its body is but an artificial vessel, its true form-- its heart-- contained within. "

[break][break] Zachary's eyes widened with overwhelmed shock. "MYTHICAL POKEMON?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Zachary gasped. [break][break] Happy's barrier was a smart move, as it always was with the little guy being a defensive support by nature. However, the robotic-doll Pokemon didn't waste time and hit Happy using the Lock on and mystical cannon. Happy gasped as the flash went off and it blew up in his face. Happy let out a squeak of a scream as he was sent flying through the air to Zachary! [break][break] He went so fast, he was like a ball-- to which Zachary jumped up immediately. He caught the poor Mime Jr mid-air, just in time before he fell somewhere in the cave floor. "Happy!" Zachary cried, seeing his Mime Jr. He was bruised badly from the canon flash, and completely incapacitated. Even for an unevolved Pokemon like him, he didn't stand a chance. Regretfully, Zachary got out his Pokeball and returned the Mime Jr to the ball for safety. [break][break] Anubis the Umbreon saw all this-- and was now pissed! No one hurt his trainer or his friends and not pay the price! Anubis saw the incoming Zeaora with Dragon Hammer-- to which thankfully, Happy's Reflect defensive field protected a margin of it. The Hammer gave a shake against Umbreon, but not the full impact-- which gave the little avenger an opening. [break][break] "Foul Play! Now, Anubis!" Zachary cried. Anubis made no objection as its body glowed with a pitch-black energy. In retaliation to the lightning cat's attack, the Umbreon lunged and struck with a dark-empowered ram of its body. The combined power and the dark energy-- focusing on the difference between their attack power, showed in the form of an ultimate counter-attack. [break][break] Anubis' rings glew brighter in his renewed hatred for hurting his friends, but that wouldn't be enough. [break][break] Could Zachary run, sure? Would he be allowed to-- if this Rocket Guy had true value to keep their location undiscovered, of course not! They would either capture or kill Zachary to keep him quiet. He had a way out-- if he could use it. But now, his only option was to fight, and he was not going to give up. One way or another, he had to endure this. [break][break]

Zachary smiled at her explanation, even if it was a bit self-deprecating. "I think that goes more to intuition than mind-reading, but I won't complain. Just means you know each other well," Zachary said, glad. [break][break] The Luxray pawing over the girl's face made Zachary want to laugh. It was adorable! He sure would want a Luxray someday, even if it wasn't psychic at all. They were adorable. [break][break] "I don't think you would have to worry. You two seem very close. It would miss you if away too long. " Zachary said. [break][break] At that time, Dizzy gave a soft bark as he soon saw Xatu fly back down from his lap around the sky of the city. Prophet landed beside Zachary, but what was odd was that Xatu energetically waved his wings, as if to communicate. It was also a bit worrisome. Zachary's Xatu was not a usual Xatu. While others were peaceful and almost introverted, Prophet was active and rather animated. But this felt a hint of 'urgency' in his movements. "Prophet, what's wrong?" Zachary asked, as the bird moved its arms in vain to communicate. Dizzy too felt the urgency, but even he was unsure what the bird was bothered by sometime. [break][break] In truth, despite his oddity, the Xatu's intuition was usually very exact, if not straight-on prophetic. [break][break]

It was the time for Zachary to face his greatest fears. Dizzy was trying hard to 'butter Zachary up' for this, to stoke his confidence. Zachary had many adventures and tough battles , including Area Zero and Mt. Pyre. However, what he feared most was not what most expected. [break][break] And there they came, the swarm of insects, specifically Dustox that crept Zachary out to no end. While he tolerated and even love Beautifly and how friendly they could be-- the nature of bugs still sent shivers up and down Zachary's spine. And he was now smack in the middle of a warm of them. [break][break] "BUUUUUUUUUUGGGGSSS!!" Zachary screamed, seeing the Dustox start to surround him. Why couldn't the Beautifly be more drawn to him ? But nope, the Dustox enjoyed causing Zachary chaos. [break][break] The poor blue-haired boy ran around like a Blaziken with its tail on fire-- leaving Dizzy the Delphox to look at his master and trainer. [break][break]A bleak sigh of embarrassment came from the fox, wishing his master wouldn't be so scared of something so small...[break][break]

Zachary could of sworn using Prophet's Ghost attack would put some dent into the Victini, but it only made things worse. Even worse-- Arron gave Zachary an annoyed glance as if to say 'are you kidding me?' He just answered back, "Hey, I'm working with what I have here!" he argued back. All the while the Xatu gave a neutral, blank stare at the two, unconcerned by their bickering. [break][break] Arron least gave some constructive criticism, which seemed out of place. "Not sure what you're going for but fine!" Zachary urged and looked for Dizzy! "Dizzy-- Magic Room!" Dizzy answered and quickly glowed. Suddenly the air around them took on a violet hue-- and several cubes of magical boxes appeared-- all of them floating in the air around them. That actually was a clever idea, providing cover, but also giving them a terrain to stand on as Tarot hovered down onto one of the boxes. Same did Dizzy. Zachary too landed on a box, while Prophet still hovered in the air. [break][break] Zachary looked up to Prophet overhead. "Prophet, Future Sight!" [break][break] The totem-pole bird spread his wings out wide, as orbs of psychic power took shape around him. Its eyes glowed, casting them into the future. With a small flash, the orbs vanished from sight. [break][break] Not about to wait around Tarot decided to take advantage, now not using Psychic to keep them airborne. [break][break] "Ka-daaabraa!!" Kadabra took action and aimed at Victini, now gathering fire. An orb of darkness formed before Tarot, becoming larger by the second. With his cry, he followed the ball forward--shooting a Shadow Ball at his target. [break][break]
