The Leafeon had now been out of sight, distracted by the Pincer and chaos from the fight. They were long gone-- so was Happy and Rabsca. Zachary looked in shock as he fell to his knees, disbelief by the bad fortune. Even worse it hit him, he couldn't stop the abduction because of his fear. [break][break] Josh was the one to ask if he was alright, but Zachary responded badly as he jumped up and yelled. "OF COUSE I AM NOT ALRIGHT!" Zachary shouted, startling even Dizzy in sympathy for his trainer, "That Leafeon just stole Happy and Rabsca. I should of been right on them but... but I'm too much of a freaking coward over some bugs! How can I be so USELESS!?" he shouted, his anger more at himself than Josh. [break][break] Dizzy gave a soft whimper of sympathy, his ears drooping. [break][break]

Happy was shaken like a rag doll as he clinged to the leafy fur of the Umbreon while the large creature lept and dashed through the forest. Rabsca was secure in is fur, but still Happy was tossed about. As was Swadloon, who Leafeon kept safe wrapped in its leaves. After a good running, things calmed down as Leafeon entered a sunlit grove of trees. A small stream ran through it, and the place completely circled by trees, leaving a perfect skylight for the sun to shine through. Leafeon soon walked to the center and laid down on it, letting go of the Pokemon it 'rescued'. [break][break] Happy tumbled to the grassy ground, dizzy and surprised. Rabsca soon joined it as did Swadloon. The little mime looked up at the now calmer gaze of the Leafeon. There was a sterness to her eyes, but also a compassion as it soon curled its leafy tail around the area and sat down like a big cat. Almost protective, like a mother protecting its cubs, Leafeon kept them safe near her. As she laid there, other pokemon in the area also gathered. Some were young, others seemingly injured-- and others just calling this grove home. They soon gathered and played around Leafeon as she rested and looked over them all diligently [break][break] Happy and Rabsca took in the scene, but they did want to get back to Zachary. The two glanced at one another-- well glance relatively from Rabsca being a floating beetle with a sac above its head. [break][break] Despite its once vicious demeanor, it had melted away to a tranquil protector as soon other Pokemon gathered around her, seeing her like a doting friend. Happy soon started to waddle away, perhaps to find the direction where Zachary was-- until Leafeon intervene. Much like a mother, the Leafeon reached over its mouth and picked up Happy by the nape of his neck, like a kitten. Happy sighed as the pokemon placed him back with the others there, Swadloon cheerful to see Happy brought back to it. [break][break]

[break][break] "HAPPY!! RABSCA!! WhERE ARE YOU?!" Zachary shouted, trying to find his lost friends. [break][break] Perhaps Josh could help track them, but they were so far away and Leafeon was far faster than Zachary thought. He was quickly getting exhausted as he grasped his knees. "Oh for crying out loud, they could be anywhere..." Zachary groaned, followed by Dizzy's barking at Zachary to keep it together. [break][break] However soon-- there was a rustling in a nearby bush. Zachary flinched, afraid it might be another bug. "Oh great... now what?!" Zachary gasped. [break][break] It was then that from the bush, casually stepped out was an odd creature. A green, leafy-looking cat, with big adorable eyes, a leafy main around its neck, and a cute appearance that would make one melt. It was a cat, made of greenery and leaves. "Mreeeoooww...." it mewed, soon discovering the two humans and the walking fox. [break][break] Zachary's gaze lit up with amazement, to find such a Pokemon. "N-no way... A spriggatito?" he said, drawing out his Pokedex. [break][break] [break][break] Dizzy looked at the cat, seeing as it soon looked back at them, equally surprised but not retreating. It reminded Zachary of a similar cat Pokemon he befriended when he was a kid. He gently knelt onto the grass and extended a hand. "Hey there, little guy. Nice to meet you," Zachary said, extending a hand. [break][break] At first Sprigatito flinched, cautioned by the extension of the hand, but Zachary didn't reach forward. After a bit, the cat sniffed the air around it, and glanced at the others. After a bit, the little cat gingerly stepped over and sniffed Zachary's hand, before he nudged his head against it. [break][break] Zachary answered by cupping his hand and petted the cat-- scratching it behind its ears, to which Sprigatito fell into a deep and appreciative purr. [break][break] "Wow... talk about lucky. Hey, do you think Sprigatito may now where Leafeon and the others ran off to?" Zachary asked Josh [break][break]

Zachary had done it! Or rather, they had done it. Zachary, Dizzy and Happy pulled through with combined effort to clinch a win. Even with a disadvantage, they overcame it with their very wits, and that made it all the more greater. But it was far from over. As Arron soon recalled his Aegislash, it soon came another Pokemon of problems. A Dhelmise! The ghostly ship wheel of a pokemon emerged, being both a ghost and grass type. It was an oddity alone, but its ghost type attributes would be a danger. Happy still had weaknesses to ghost, but something about this bugged Zachary. A detail about this Pokemon that eluded him for the moment. The sight of the giant wheel made Happy look up at it, almost a little intimidated. [break][break] "Happy, don't get scared! You got this! " Zachary cheered his Pokemon on. [break][break] It was then that the music changed, moving to a different track on the playlist-- and it then kicked in. [break][break] [break][break] The moment the new beat picked up, Happy's worry switched to glee! It was one of his favorites, fully of happiness, optimism and value of one's self. Happy again danced to the beat, his worry melting away along with his trainer's faith in him. [break][break]It was then that the Ghostly wheel glowed, and the lights of swords surrounded him, using Sword Dance. Luckily, Zachary felt confident in Reflect's defenses for now. It was a good sign to know this one was a physical attacker. But he couldn't let his guard down. [break][break] "Happy, start things off! Dazzling Gleam!" Zachary called out. [break][break] Happy continued to dance, making it look like a dance battle than a real battle-- and with the command, released a Dazzling blast of color and light. Not only did it do damage, but it just illuminated the battlefield with a flurry of neon, multi-colored lights, now flowing to the beat of the music. [break][break] While Zachary doubted the Dazzling gleam would do much damage, it was to at least get a small hit in, and Zachary soon took action, using it as a destruction. [break][break] "Okay, Happy! Time to roll the dice and show your true power! METRONOME!!" [break][break] Happy let out a happy cheer as he soon really got into the dance, waving his little arms left to right with the flow of the music. All the while, shaking his little body, the same motion was conjuring an unseen, unpredictable power! This was why Happy was given the Tarot designation of "The Fool", a person capable of becoming anything or anyone. His very soul held infinite potential, just like the unseen attack... and no one could predict what would happen. [break][break][break][break]

Zachary soon saw Josh Devlin flying in on a psychic mount! Zachary's eyes lit up on the psychic version of Braviary of all things. A ping of envy formed in Zachary's chest, wanting to have one of his own too. But he did know those birds were tough to tame. "Wow... I'm so jealous. That's an amazing bird!" Zachary commented as he greeted Josh. "And that's why I just teleport around. Anyway, lets get going." He said as he urged them to the lab. [break][break] The meeting with Prof. Yew was indeed a surprise, as her elegant appearance was indeed disarming to some. Zachary remained professional as he prioritized the reason why he was there. They soon broke away from the laboratory and observatory, to the smaller office nearby. They left down the hall to a comfy conference room, with a long table, comfy wheeling chairs, and a giant white board along the room, well lit and clean. Zachary sat down as Dizzy sat too on the seat-- his dropping down causing him to spin on the rotating chair. A happy 'wee' escaped the fox as he spun there. [break][break] As Josh joined in too, Professor Yew sat down too on the opposite end. "Thank you for your patience. Anyway, I was very interested to read the reports that came in from Area Zero. You must of had your hands full. But still, I'd like to hear it from your own words. Please, tell me what happened down there. You said your Pokemon underwent 'An unusual transformation'. " the professor asked, looking over a document she had on the table. [break][break] To also bring Josh up to speed, Zachary recapped the events of when he ran into Amor Rose at the mining refinery of the Area Zero caves. The attack, the near defeat-- and that rare, unpredictable moment when Dizzy was encased in crystal and suddenly emerged stronger than ever. Even then, he lost-- and had to be rescued by a very friendly ranger Leo Winters . The professor listened silently, her eyes attentive and ears peeled to hear every detail. [break][break] Then she spoke. "Terastallization," she said with a nod. [break][break] "Huh? What was that?" Zachary asked, surprised. [break][break] "It's what we called this phanominon. You described the transformation almost as if your Delphox crystalized, correct? Since the meteorite fell, the power to awaken it has cropped up in Pokemon, especially within Area Zero.
It seems now your Pokemon has become attuned to the same power, in the form of its Fire type." she explained. "Terastilizaton, or Terra Boost, as some trainers call it, give the ability to awaken the dorment 'tera type' a pokemon can have. It can be a part of their natural attributes, or something entirely different, depending on their predisposition. When this happens, it not only offers them a tremendous boost in strength, it can literally overwrite a Pokemon's attributes. A grass type can become a fire type. An insect type can become a fighting type, or a ground type can become a flying type. So on, and so forth." she explained. [break][break] Zachary sat back in his chair, as now Dizzy sat quietly and listened too. "So this power, Terastilzation, happens regularly in Area Zero? Was that why Dizzy transformed?" Zachary asked, looking to his partner. "I tried to ask him to do it again, but he can't seem to. Why was he able to then?" he asked. [break][break] "The energies in Area Zero for Tera types are extremely saturated in that environment, making it possible to adapt and gain those types. Think of it like a mutation or natural evolution in the genes of the Pokemon itself. While benine to them, it allows them to Terastellize if they have the right conditions." Prof. Yew explained. She glanced at Josh too, and soon rose up to the white board. [break][break] She took out a marker and soon drew the symbol of the Terastellar phenomenon. "I think it is more clearer to say not the Pokemon evolves, but the attribute itself evolves within the Pokemon, or changes to allow more than one. While several pokemon has no more than two attributes, this passive Tera Type allows the use of Terrastellization to be achieved. " she explained, showing a diagram of the fire type, lined up with the symbol to a water type. [break][break] Zachary glanced at Josh, wondering if he had any questions or concerns about the process. [break][break]

THe incoming Toxic ball of guk clearly wasn't to Tarot's liking. Zachary didn't even get out an order-- as his Kadabra wasn't just very independent. He also was one of the Pokemon who 'wouldn't' obey its trainer. It was very gifted and strong, but rarely did what Zachary told him to do. However, this case while Tarot was the definition of 'problem with authority', he did care for his friend and trainer. He would not let him come to harm. [break][break] Kadabra soon had his spoon bend, casting Kinesis. In that moment, the toxic ball stopped mid air, and splattered to bits away from Kadabra. A simple move, meant to disarmt he accuracy of attacks by telekinetically controlling its trajectory. [break][break] However, the speed of the PLasma fists came far faster to Kadabra. Wide eyes showed as Kadabra was face to face with the electric cat! Kadabra took the hit, unable to react in time -- and was sent sprawling on the ground. A groan escaped Tarot as he laid there, knocked out. [break][break] A drop of sweat showed on Zachary as he turned to his Delphox. "Please tell me he didn't just knock out our big bun in three seconds flat?!" Zachary gasped, to which his Delphox let out a surprised bark of his own. [break][break] Now they were unguareded by the big Zeraora, intending to act on the Rocket's next violent act. Zachary recalled his Kadabra, returning him back to the Pokeball. Not about to play fair against such a superior opponent, this was now a fight for survival. He took out two Pokeballs, drawn on the surface of them a "0" and a "XVIII" on it, symbolizing something important. "I call upon the Fool and the Moon. Happy! Anubis!" He tossed both balls into the air, and the two snapped open with a burst of light. [break][break] From the Pokeballs, out appeared two odd choices. A cheerful little Mime Jr. and an upright Umbreon. As the two made their little appearances, Umbreon was right to work glaring at the Zeraora, feeling the need to protect his trainer and his friends. [break][break] "Happy, use Reflect! Anubis-- Dark Pulse!" Zachary cried, issuing the orders to them. [break][break] Realizing this was no time to joke around, Happy was the first to act and raised his little arms with a 'happy cry'. A magical wall of light erected itself like a sheet of glass. The resolute barrier of Reflect never failed when it came from Mime Jr. [break][break] From the safety behind the magical wall, Anubis didn't hesitate and took action. With a growl, its rings on its body glowed bright, illuminating the darkness. It roared, and out from its mouth appeared a series of spiraling, dark energy. The streams flew forward, attempting to strike the enemy![break][break] "You will have to forgive me for the lying, but I have no intention of dying here by the hand of Team Rocket. So do your worst, cause we ain't backing down!" Zachary said, showing his resolve to get out of this in one piece. . [break][break]

Zachary shrugged at the concept of a Psychic type's advantages. "It's not just about that. it's about... developing a connection," Zachary tried to explain, though not exactly sure how to put it into words. "As amazing as they are alone, A psychic trainer's biggest goal is to develop a strong bond with their Pokemon. The kind that... even lets their trainer able to hear their thoughts and vise versa." [break][break] Zachary felt like he was talking crazy, sharing that with a stranger. He ran his hand through his hair to clear his thoughts as Dizzy just looked back and forth between them. "Anyway... they are quite amazing. " [break][break] At her mention of exploring, searching for ruins and mysterious things-- magic and mystism, Zachary smiled. "Same for me too. I got goals but I can't help but want to explore more about things around us." [break][break]

Zachary hoped his lie would give some pause... but that turned out to be a mistake! The Rocket didn't hesitate and clearly wasn't phased. A frown formed on Zachary's face his pocket face shot to hell. "Well, clearly THAT LIE didn't get me anywhere..." Zachary responded with a sigh, realizing he couldn't fib his way out of it. Dizzy the Delphox gave an annoyed glare at Zachary, knowing it wouldn't of worked. [break][break][break][break] Kadabra was well aware and never dropped its guard, as it focused on the enemy Zeraora! At that very moment the pokemon attacked-- Kadabra used his own power. Psychic. Without order or direction, the Kadabra, Tarot, acted on his own and telekinetically grasped hold of his target. The Plasma fist would stop mid-way as Zeraora would find itself in mid-air. In that instant, Kadabra's spoon bent back forward. As a result Zeraora went flying in the opposite direction, repelling the attack and in hope, doing some damage. [break][break] Sweat showed on Zachary as he lowered his arms, having kept up his guard. "That was close. Thanks, Tarot," So in the spirit of his Delphox companion, he would try to 'out-fox' his foe. He kept calm and looked up above to the voice around him. " Well, looks can be deceiving. Or are you so willing to attack a member of the Dark Triad of all people. Even you should know what hell that would bring upon you." Zachary said. [break][break] It was obvious now that Zachary was just another League kid, a civilian at best. He was now up to his neck in trouble. " I guess your not as much of a showoff as your other rocket thugs. I figured as flashy as you guys are wouldn't hide your face like this!" he mocked, trying to understand what was going on and why this Rocket was here. Without seeing the trainer, he didn't know where to really look or what danger would come from next. He offered, trying to sound both unthreatened and cool. [break][break] Kadabra still stared daggers at the Zeraora, trying to be ready for its counter attack. [break][break]

DragonSadly the Leafeon was having none of it and pissed at the two rough-housing pokemon, especially the one capable of setting fire to the forest. It let out a high roar-like cry, causing a gale of leaves around it. The shock was enough to put Zachary into a defensive guard with his arms, as did Dizzy. It was threatened by them and wanted them gone. [break][break] In that instant, Leafeon struck. It pounced right over Zachary and got to the pokemon nearby-- Happy, Rabsca-- and Swadloon! [break][break] Leafeon with them either clung to its leafy fur or holding them by her mouth-- lept away! It quickly began to retreat with them, taking them further into the forest! [break][break] "Oh no! Happy! Rabsca-----AHHHHHH!!![break][break] It was then that a Pincer and another grass type showed up, further adding to Zachary's fear. While the danger of the fact this massive Pokemon took off with his friends, he couldn't get passed the fear of facing THAT SCARY of a Pincer of all things. The Leafeon quickly went out of sight-- and that left Dizzy there, just as alarmed. Dizzy barked, warning the other Pokemont to step aside and let them passed. He was just as urgent. [break][break]

Mossdeep City was indeed something unexpected. The name didn't give it justice cause it was one of the most impressive scientific research areas in Hoenn. Even more so Zachary had come there after his time in the Grand Chasm and Area Zero. He didn't run into Josh there, but the two had kept close ties since Mt. Pyre. A Gym leader of all things-- and something Zachary wanted to aspire to. But more than that, Zachary walked away from his time in the Chasm with far more knowedge than he knew. He learned about the Dark Triad, the Paradox Pokemon coming through-- and most of all the Tera crystals and how potent they were down there. Furthermore, he saw how they affected Dizzy when he fought against Amor Rose and barely made it out alive. Dizzy had gone through a powerful transformation and unleased incredible power. He wanted to know how that was possible.  [break][break] They were soon outside of the Space Center-- which also featured a Pokemon Research Center.  Zachary and Josh were there to meet a Professor Yew, a professor who was studying the unique properties of the Tera crystals brought back from Area Zero, and the paradox phanomina. Along with other things, or so he was told. Zachary approached the building and Josh was with him, keeping him company to welcome him back from Area Zero.[break][break] "I can't believe what happened..." Zachary explained to Josh when he got back. All Dizzy did was touch one of those big crystals-- next thing I knew he was cocooned in it and then it erupted and he was all..." He paused, unsure how to describe it. Dizzy too was there, so was Happy-- his Mime Jr for company as they walked down the laboratory halls. Dizzy had of course no opinion to express of it all, having experienced it himself, but Zachary was abuzz about what he witnessed. "They became like super-rare prism-foil trading card or something! " [break][break] Dizzy frowned at the rather cheezy example-- but accurate considering how prismatic his fur looked when he transformed. [break][break] They soon reached the end of the hall, reaching one of the observatories that overlooked an open skylight with a telescope. A blonde woman in a white and black dress directed a few lab assistance around as they approached. "And be sure to run a system check before you start the tests. I don't want another false positive on our systems again!" she called out. [break][break] "Excuse me" Zachary asked, raising a hand shyly, "Sorry to interrupt but I have an appointment with a Professor... Yew," he asked. [break][break] The woman turned to reveal she was rather fine and well groomed, with her hair tied in the front in a braid. "Oh, good to meet you. Yes, I'm Professory Yew. You must be the visitors who just came back from the Grand Chasm. I was told you experienced some unusual phenomenon. I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain about it" she said with a sly smile. Zachary looked at one of the tracks. He knelt down and Dizzy sniffed the air. He suddenly became very alert as the fox's fur stood up on end. Happy had not been out there long, and for good reason. Being so small and so carefree, it was dangerous for him to be around, but reliable if things went wrong and they needed defense. He didn't know why Dizzy was so jumpy all of a sudden--[break][break] -- until he saw one of the prints. [break][break] Those prints he saw before as his eyes went wide and looked around. "Oh I recognize THESE..." Zachary said as he stood up. He was reminded about his HORRIBLE trip into Area Zero with Ozni Adebayo that jerk who humiliated him on social media before the rich idiot woke up a Gourging Fire. It was a disaster and if Kirlia had not teleported them out in time, they would of all been barbequed and a snack for the big lion-like creature. [break][break] "We are not alone down here and this one is particularly temperamental. " he explained as they walked gingerly through the cave. Happy kept near him now, sensing the dread. [break][break] They didn't venture long before the crystals of the cavern suddenly glowed brighter. A series of loud roars echoed through the cavern-- and not just the one Zachary remembered from the Gourging Fire. There were others. Happy quickly clutched Zachary's leg, startled. Marching out from the dark-- and the temperature went up. Gourging Fire had returned! and along came another. Electricity crackled, the crystals giving off more energy. With it, came another Pokemon and this one was different. A yellow pokemon, with black stripes, and an incredibly long neck like a giraffarig's. However its body radiated energy and power. Raging Bolt. [break][break]And they were marching straight for them! [break][break]"Um... League HQ , we have a problem!" Zachary gasped. "What's going on . I thought they wouldn't leave Area Zero!" [break][break]

Zachary wasn't fully paying attention, taking in the sights and smells around him. As was Dizzy, soaking up the far warmer sunlight that felt like a boost to his body. The fox was in a great mood in the sunlight. They didn't know others were there, and the one about to bump into them. [break][break] The small bonk to his knees made Zachary pause, unsure what he hit till he looked down. He saw the adorable red-colored monkey. He wasn't bothered in the least as he soon saw the little guy look up. He gave a smile and waved. [break][break] Dizzy was a bit more perplexed, as he acknowledged the fellow fire type. [break][break] As the Pansear retreated, Zachary looked to find it belonged to a trainer, a young woman nearby. She was very pretty as he waved to her. "Hey there. No worries. Your Pansear is pretty cute," he said happy to meet them. Dizzy gave a friendly bark to her as well, his tail wagging a bit in his good mood. [break][break] Dizzy approached the Pansear with a friendly sniff and bark hoping to get the little guy to open up. As he did, Zachary looked to the lady. "I'm Zachary. It's nice to meet you. Are you a trainer too? " he asked. [break][break]
