Until he spoke.

"Yeah." What a lame answer. She cleared her throat, offering a strained smile.

"After I graduated, I wanted to travel some more. Kalos was promising, but I just felt like I needed to come here."

She wondered if there was some sort of string of fate tying her to him. Because how in arceus's name had she managed to land in the same exact place as Wyatt after nine, ten years without him.

Oh, her chest ached.

"You? When did you get here? What about..." "What about Kanto?"

[attr="class","selene"]Selene didn't expect to run into many people in hoenn. She surely didn't expect to run into here. She thought he was still back in kanto with the rocket gang he'd been apart of when she left.

Fleeting memories passed through her mind.

Teasing a young boy while he chased her around the yard with a wriggling wurmple in his hand. Exchanging quick looks at with him in the hallway at school. Dancing the night away and having her first kiss. The feeling of his warm embrace, taking her sweetly and slowly.

"It's either me or them."

And then, she left.

Selene had only thought of Wyatt in the beginning of her move to kalos. But the more she studied, the more he became a spec in the annals of her time back home. Now, a flood of emotion overcame her.

Joy. Hope. Anger. Sadness. She couldn't place just one feeling she had, looking at him. His black outfit was nice, but he'd changed since they'd last seen each other. He was more mature. Muscular.

"What the fuck?"

"Wyatt. I, um..." What did she say? "Thank you. New dress," she blurted out, trying to ignore the fact that he was looking at her way too intensely.

"Order? Right, order. Give me a second..." Selene turned, urging her pounding heart to calm down as she bent over to scour the packages set aside. She snagged one, holding it up.

"For a Miss Linda?"

[attr="class","selene"]"Have a fantastic day, ma'am! Let me know what your husband thinks about the scent," Selene called, a knowing smirk across her lips.

The door jingled as the customer left, leaving her alone in the shop. She glanced at the clock. Thirty minutes until close.

She gave the door a moment to threaten to open, and while it was silent, she snuck to the back to scavenge for a food. She was starving.

There wasn't much in the store, though. A half-eaten granola bar she'd had for breakfast and a small bag of chips. Selene sighed, taking the bar in her hand-

"Ooh!" Ume chimed from the counter.

Selene shoveled the food into her mouth as the door jingled, announcing another customer. Swallowing quickly and gulping down water, she returned to the front, trying to not appear disshelved.

"Welcome to Sweet Scentery! How can I help-"

The man entering looked all too familiar. She stuttered. "You?"

i have arrived to hoenn safely. the ride over had a few bumps in it, but i managed to not get seasick (this time)! even though it's fall, the air is still a bit warmer than i'm used to.[break][break]
