FIRST PROMPT
AN ENDLESS FOREST FEASTS on the unexpecting. as the rangers delve deeper down this path of breadcrumbs, they start to lose their sense of direction. electronic devices fail without explanation, compasses unwind in careless spirals. their only guide is the residue of their suspects.
which is how they find themselves in a place still undiscovered.
the trimmed tree line reveals a dark clearing in fortree’s jungle. while the leaves above blot out the sun, their space is illuminated by the brilliance of a purple energy field. it covers the inner workings of a temple decayed with age.
the BARRIER expands over the entire temple. it radiates with a constant hum, solid but translucent enough to discern what lies on the other side. however, what the rangers will find does not bode well for them.
vegetation stops where the BARRIER begins. all foliage: grass, underbrush, vines and more, are withered, lifeless. a small buffer zone between inside and just outside the BARRIER is littered with bones. splotches of dried red-black liquid stain eroded stone.
before any of them can react, much less voice their concern or curiosity, a high pitch shrill draws their attention. they will find their culprits battling, exchanging blows as they’re caught in the crossfire of a naganadel’s ACID.
 on the other end, a kartana, shuriken spins through the air, deftly avoiding each spurt of ACID. with no regard for the rangers or their pokemon, it releases a flurry of RAZOR LEAVES. each one shines with an edge that will cut flesh like butter, evidently strong enough to clear trunks that have lived well beyond anyone present.
OBJECTIVES
- engage as you see fit while naganadel and kartana battle!
- as someone stationed in fortree, have Pace Mahmoud notice that they’ve never explored this area. use this to reference how far remote and unexplored the clearing is.
- at least 2 rangers must be injured during the battle*.
- at least 4 pokemon must faint against the ULTRA BEASTS*.
- at least 1 pokemon must die while fighting the ULTRA BEASTS*.
- at least 1 trainer or pokemon must be POISONED*.
- at least 1 trainer or pokemon must suffer a cut like injury*.
- have Kaida Adachi recognize, through her understanding of beasts and their behavior, that these pokemon are hostile toward one another but do not intend to kill each other.
- at least 1 participant should attempt to catch either ULTRA BEAST. the pokeball will bounce off due to still being registered under BAILEY COOPER.
- optional: have a pokemon get pushed into the BARRIER. roll a dice in the post that this happens in.
- naganadel and kartana must unwillingly get pushed into the BARRIER. this can be due to the battle.
* these prompts do not have to be finished in order to move on. any progress made will be carried over after the next mod post.

Since these threads will often feature combat, please be reasonable with your battling. Discuss with your group if you'd like one move per post, how many Pokemon are allowed to be brought, etc.
Try to keep posts short for clarity and speed.
A TL;DR (too long; didn't read) with your posts is not mandatory, but helpful.
This thread has no length requirement. Pace yourself accordingly and submit it when the group is done! I would recommend trying to touch on every aspect you find interesting in order to maximize enjoyment.

SPARSE SUPERVISION makes infiltrating the closed off areas easy. behind the ropes of velvet barriers are exhibits filled with cardboard boxes and brown tarps. they cover unlabeled paintings still waiting on matching plaques. overall, the exhibit appears just as described: unfinished.
