"Well... My bad Isra, Orion. I think you guys were right after all." As they had appeared in this new area, the eerie silence was the first thing that struck Balder. So much for gathering information or items to help them on their adventure. There was nothing at all waiting for them. It's only fair to tell these two that they were possibly right and this place was actually more dangerous.[break][break]

The structures were different, but those barricades and the lack of individuals... It's like the team had stepped into the aftermath of a revolt. As if the individuals living in this district had rioted and those barricades were put up to guide their advances. And those lights... Search lights. That looks like something Rocket would've used back in Kanto to ransack the region and capture people of interest.[break][break]

The alolan man turned around, looking at Leo. "Sorry Buddy, you'll have to lay low for a while. I'll call you out once we're sure that everything's safe or we need you." Balder called Leo back into his pokeball. Since the lion was relatively massive in size, and white, leaving him out would only attract attention to the group as they try to hide. Now they had to play it safe, to go into the shadows and prepare for what's to come.[break][break]

Instead of the solar lion, Balder called onto a new friend onto the field: Marnie the Obstagoon. While unable to move in the shadows like the ghost types that were deployed, or the quick ones, she could serve as their defensive wall. As the others began to move towards a building, Balder looked at Orion. "Are you able to describe what you saw? Is it like one of the creatures we faced so far? We still gotta hide in the shadow of that building though..."[break][break]

And thus, Balder proceeded to follow Pokkenger and Isra. As they slowly came to a stop, hiding behind the building, Balder decided to put one of his hand on the ground, hoping to identify the materials used in this world. Yet... this felt different. Unlike any of the materials they have in their world. This truly was another world... Ignoring her master's weird behavior, the Obstagoon proceeded to stand near Pokkenger, ready to be the shield of the group.

The girl understood what he meant at least. Whisper needed to be guided and trained properly, so that she serves not only as a protector but as the greatest force for this lady. And also to stop her from acting all gung-ho on anyone that dares to approach the kid with weird intentions. But the fact these two shared a bond for a while was a good sign of a future powerful trainer.[break][break]

As she placed Whisper back in her pokeball, Balder deemed it was safe to approach the girl. While he knew his body could take a hit from the psychic creature, he didn't want to traumatize everyone further. As he got close to Ruby, he dropped a gentle hand on her head and ruffled her hair a bit. "Believe in your bond with your pokemon, and you'll be able to reach greatness."[break][break]

After saying those words, he removed his hand and stepped back. At the same time, his Braviary arrived, ready to take the man back to his gym. However, before he could embark upon the bird's back, Ruby proceeded to ask who he was. The Sun's Avatar turned towards her, showing a kind smile. "Me? I'm Balder Schwartz, Gym Leader of Sootopolis and partner of the Prideful Sun Lion, Solgaleo. Hope I'll see you someday, young lady." And thus, the gym leader embarked upon his mount and flew back to the silver spire, to prepare for other challengers ~~(That are still waiting for me to do something)~~.

"I see you're able to read the flow of battle well, challenger." Using the move Silver Wind when visibility was low and predicting the actions of the enemy? That's a good idea. But the move lacked in power, and effectivity. While the Hippowdon hadn't moved, it took the impact without any sound, as if it had been just a scratch.[break][break]

As for the Crobat, seeing movement in the smoke, it noticed the approached of the Weavile and avoided in consequence, still getting lightly grazed. As the smoke slowly dissipated, revealing all fighters, it was finally time to start the second phase of the plan. Balder extended his arm, looking at Annie, before closing his hand into a fist.[break][break]

Both pokemons nodded. Koga rose into the sky, where he could get a clear view of his opponents. Unleashing all of his powers, his eyes glew a bright red and seemed to emit a ghastly reproduction of his eyes in a bigger format in front of him. The move Mean Look, meant to stop any opponents from escaping. Now any plans of switching from the challenger would be stopped short.[break][break]

As for Sandy, a strong flow of sand started to emerge from her back, rising up into the sky into a small slowly expanding to surround the fighters and blocking the view of the challengers and fighters alike. Except for Koga who was somewhat used to these conditions already, having trained in different environments to still be able to see his surrounding.

The councilman, whom he met for the first time ever, now wanted to join him on an adventure where death awaited at every corners? "Are you actually the craziest of the council? After Abbiati obviously. No one in their right fucking mind would want to go to their death alongside a man they first met, especially one who's avoiding the league currently!"[break][break]

Kishi approached his master, dropping a peaceful hand upon his shoulder. The "exiled" gym leader looked at his pokemon. The Gallade shook his head and moved his hand. While the pokemon couldn't communicate his thoughts like a Gardevoir, Balder understood quite well what he meant by those actions. The Alolan Man took a deep sigh and looked at Orion.[break][break]

"Look, I don't even know your name, but I need to warn you: It's highly possible we won't come back. We're heading into the unknown, filled with uncertainties. If you're really as crazy as you're sounding and truly want to assist me, I won't stop you anymore, even though I'd prefer leaving you behind so you can ensure the region stays safe instead. That he couldn't even consider someone's opinion without turning it down so quickly? Balder sighed again. "Sorry, I really lost all trusts in her after all of this..."[break][break]

Suddenly, the man proceeded to do something that the Alolan Warrior never expected: Gift something to him. A Silph Scope, he called. Balder extended his hand to grab the object, looking at it to analyze it correctly. Such a small device could record and... Even analyse those beasts? "Wait so you mean it's actually loaded up with one of those AIs that would help me understand those beasts as I observe them? As well as record and replay everything?"[break][break]

But then, the councilman asked the rogue gym leader if he had done something worthy of being arrested. "Nothing to make me a globally wanted man, although you never know what lies could be sent out, but... I did steal some food from the supermarket in order to survive in the wilderness. Some cup noodles to be exact. Luckily I can cook them using my Charizard's tail flame to reach the temperature I want..."
