with shopping bags in hand. dawn was on his way to return with groceries for cait's gym. little did he know, he'd come to meet the man he hadn't seen since the beach festival. "mr. silph!" the bubbly male interjected. it was then that, in front of fernando, he saw a brunette haired female. "ohhh, is this your girlfriend?!" the energetic male would come to pass the councilman by. with both hands full of bagged groceries, a simple bow was all he could give. dawn, then, said, "hello, i'm---" wait, her face was familiar. "oh! aren't you pokenger's girlfriend?!" that's right, he recently saw her in the hnn news!

"everyone's got something artistic to them." he'd seen a lot of unique individuals perform at contest. some with a hard exterior, others who lacked any sense of style, and those who were completely blind even had a hand in performing. "you meet a lot of unique contestants in pokemon coordinating." a hand was brought to rest underneath his chin. "i think contests are what taught me to never judge a book by their cover, if anything you may just surprise yourself, eva. if i were you i'd try my hand at pokemon contests, you may just wow yourself."

"it helps inspire me." a finger lightly tapped the table they sat at. "are you not enjoying this?" the couple on stage sounded horrible. their singing had been just terrible, and yet it was music to cadis's ears. "for some reason i can't find it displeasing, i don't know why..." he thought aloud, leaning in closer to listen. "but i do enjoy a good song every now and then, you may just witness something never before seen before!"

"well, it seems someone will be getting fired." permanently. turning his back on the group, he'd begin to make a call for their ride. "let's head out, eva. i'll allow you to dish out the punishment, would that make you feel better?" he'd ask the infuriated scientist.

"none that i can exactly pinpoint." they were all so young. "that thomas benoit character is interest--" ah, and then he remembered cait. which reminded him he needed to make a phone call. "some interesting things are coming for rocket, Eva Dumont. you should prepare yourself, we'll be moving soon." taking out his device, he'd leave his companions side to make a quick call.

"the alakazam, that's right." to have gotten his hand on such a creature. priam's potential was shining through and through. though, priam would have to wait for something would come to flash across the screen. "wait, that was..." he'd pause only to continue, "...get a closer look." the pokemon wasn't far, but it was neither the close. but from what they could tell the machine would show a multitude of life signs in one pokemon. "either that pokemon has a plethora of hearts or..." it was a school of fish, thus indicating one thing. "that pokemon, is that a..."

"all it took was a bit of encouragement and belief, nice." a hand was placed atop of her shoulder. "i'm proud of you, eva." cadis forwardly stated. "i'm sure the league has changed since your departure. have you had a chance to meet some of the new faces of the league? such as the gym leaders for instance. they're all quite fresh." due to being victorious in popping three balloons successfully, eva was allowed to choose her prize. "a lot of them don't show much promise, i'll have to be honest. the power structure of gym leaders sure has gone down since silas's fall..." arms folded with disappointment, "but they've got initiative."

"let's send them off, shall we?" and thus they were in. venturing to uncover what resided deep within the blue, but while on top of the surface cadis would ask, "the ultra beasts have been helpful in producing shadow pokemon. have you had a chance to try shadowifying a pokemon of your choosing yet?"

"on the contrary," cadis stated with a chuckle upon taking the lead. grabbing a dart and focusing his aim, he'd come to chuck the first: success, "i think i've found several capable of answering my question within league." it all simply depended on their response. could they help cadis figure out what he'd long for? another dart was taken into his hand and thrown once more, this time? it was another success.

"you should try to meet some of these league individuals yourself, eva. they're a fun bunch, if only silas were able to see that. i'm sure there was only one man who captured his attention..." a deadpan expression was worn as he thought about the man known as fernando silph. the councilman who was revered for his prowess and loyalty to his work. he'd come to hold the next dart within his hand only to turn and allow for eva to give it a try, his expression returning to a jovial nature. "why don't you give it a try?" cadis insisted.

"alright, and i'll send my alolan corsola and starmie down there with the machine." they'll need to fend off anything that may attempt to harm their equipment. "though, a water-type ultra beast would be a first..." perhaps another nihilego was on the loose? this time maybe a small one even. "it's possible that we may end up facing another squid." calling out his pokemon, he'd continue as they would dive in, "let's just hope this version of it is a smaller one." he'd heard that each ultra beast can come in different shapes and sizes. so there was a chance this beast could be a smaller version of their last encounter with an ultra beast?

there was a reason he asked eva out specifically. cadis was hard to figure out when it came to understanding his reasoning for doing things. sometimes he couldn't exactly explain why he did what he did for himself. "i wish to do the most human thing as possible." he stated with a jovial smile. "it's been awhile since i've done something as normal as this. with being in charge, undercover and such, you don't find much time for self-care." of course he wasn't complaining. he enjoyed being able to see league up close and learn about every individual there.

"in truth, i'm just here to have a simple question answered." he'd come to walk forward, casually taking a bite out of the cotton once more. "what does it mean to be human? maybe i'll find out if we play a game of balloon darts."

standing upon the surface shore of their targeted area. cadis had heard that there was a great creature that caused a school of luvdisc to become stuck. cadis wasn't exactly interested in saving the creatures, but he was fascinated with the creature. he heard it was large and beastly, just his type. his curiosity had been poked and thus he brought the expert scientist, Eva Dumont, with him. "so we're here to hunt the creature we've heard rumors of being a possible ultra beast. if it turns out to be one, we should prepare to call for back up." and if not then he'd be in quite the sour mood for whomever fed rocket such a foolish intel. "i could careless about the pokemon trapped, let's just hope there's an ultra beast underneath this waterbed. by chance did you bring the machinery?" he spoke of the technology that would allow them to see what laid hidden underwater.
