[M] Why Do Folks Kermit To Poaching, Anyway?

The whole ordeal at Rangers HQ in Lilycove had been, well... An ordeal? To say the least. It certainly wasn't one that Josh was looking forward to experiencing again anytime soon. He had just shown up to hear the briefing and show off the new toys he had been working with Lars to prepare for the Rangers, sheesh. And everyone was in such a foul mood when he finally got to bring them out, it sucked the mood out of the whole thing! He'd worked on these! But there was nothing to it now. At least there was a chance some of them might actually use them.
[break][break]
Of course, Josh had already tested them a fair few times himself before the presentation, with Lars presiding. He couldn't exactly present them if they weren't at least guaranteed to be usable. That would be impractical. But it was one thing for him to test it, and for others to do so. Josh had his own way of using tech: Carefully. Not everyone was careful. Which was exactly why he had let his six year old try one of the non-Ranger connected ones. Because odds were that some would treat them as children would. But not even child-proofing the things could prepare for potential issues of varying use, so hopefully this would be a good beta test.
[break][break]
For this mission meanwhile, Josh intended on testing his own. Whether his partner would or not, he didn't know. It was a good place to use them, however. A group of Pokemon poachers had been at work in the Rustboro area, where his partner for this mission was stated. Josh had been tapped to help out, so he had flown out from Lavaridge to assist. Apparently the group of poachers had taken their haul into the Rusturf Tunnel, thinking they could evade the Rangers and get out of sight through the shortcut to Verdanturf.
[break][break]
As Josh entered the cave, he would hit the button on his earpiece and the HoloVision (working title) glasses would pull out over his face. Once he had secured them, he would turn on the heat-seeking functions and look to see if he could find either Elinor, or the poachers...

"You gotta be shitting me."
[break][break]
This game was crazy. While he wasn't in pain or anything, the sensation still disturbed him. And they expected kids to be able to play this stuff? He took a deep breath, bade himself to stay calm and focus on the task at hand. The best thing to do, he decided, was handle this like any other Ranger mission. Even if this was just VR, his senses, his instincts, they would still serve him well here.
[break][break]
It didn't take long for the Ranger to figure out the source of their strife, a pair of Turtonator who appeared to be guarding something. Normally he would say it was a nest or something, but this was a video game with no guarantees that the makers had any level of detailed knowledge when it came to the behavioral patterns of specific Pokemon. Turtonator were imposing, so they used them. That was likely all there was to it and he had to remind himself of that fact.
[break][break]
He sure hoped Zack was enjoying himself watching daddy try to dodge death, he thought as he bade Fawkes to charge forward towards the Turtonator. The mages and Little Josh were speedy and were able to overwhelm the twin ground-dragons enough that once Fawkes would drop him from above, Josh would pull out the large sword and bring it down, slashing at their sides as he still had no mind for lethal blows against Pokemon. While he didn't shout any catchphrases like his younger counterpart, his blade would be coated in a water-like substance just before the blows came about, dealing extra damage in the process. He spun the blade around to ensure he was able to hit them both in succession, effortlessly swinging around the blade like he was born for it.
[break][break]
Of course, he still had to figure out how to get away from them if he didn't fell them right away.

As nothing was going on except for more arguing, screaming and yelling, Josh had decided to sneak out amongst the crowds to take a tactical leak. When he came back, there was cream pie everywhere and Big Boss had just finished laying down the law.

Once the suspensions were handed out, the floor was opened. After a few choice words by his younger half, where Josh listened with renewed interest as he told his story, it seemed that was his cue. Josh had to wonder why he wasn’t called up by name considering his boss had summoned him here and requested he bring the goods with him, but he supposed it could be worse. Imagine if his name had been called while he was taking a whizz? Talk about embarrassing. And the Rangers had seen enough embarrassment for one day.

But he had one thing to note before he got started.

“Kid. I want you to listen well, and listen good. The future isn’t just capable of changing — it already has. You SAW the future, yeah? That’s knowledge that most likely you wouldn’t have if that future was still coming to pass. The future’s already changed. It can and will continue to change. Remember that and don’t let go of that possibility. Ever. Am I clear?” Josh called to Little Josh, in his best attempt to cheer him up. “Don’t you dare lose hope. Not now. Not ever.”

With that, he knew it was his time to go up and try to bring something less grim. Still, it was difficult to wipe the frown from his features as he was stuck thinking about what had said about the Avatar Hunters. The Lavaridge Ranger knew one of those names well… And with that, his thoughts continued to dwell on what had gone through. And he was sure the idea that people were trying to hurt his co-workers would weigh on the heart of young Devlin even more than it had already.

“Just as I was. Far too young to have to go through that…” the Senior Ranger whispered to himself. It had to end…

He would protect Hoenn and its people. These things he’d been forced to endure when he was Devlin’s age. The things the kid now had to endure…

“May I have everyone’s attention a moment?”

His tone was calm, but firm and booming. For a moment, his voice trembled, struggling with his thoughts… But he soon found his confidence. Because he had made his decision. He would NOT suffer a world where his own children would be forced to go through that level of hardship at a young age. That was his solemn vow. It shouldn’t have happened then… It shouldn’t have happened now. He would end this cycle one way or another.

“Ahem… Ladies, gentlefolks, non-binary friends, and Pokemon pals alike. Hi, my name is Josh Dragomir, not to be mistaken or in relation to the other Josh D in the room. Alongside my duties as a Senior Ranger, don’t let my boyish charms and youthful good looks fool you on that — and my long career as part of the world military in some fashion or another… I’m an executive vice president of tech company RaiCorp” he spoke up, perhaps a touch more deadpan than one would expect a company representative to be, but what did you expect after all the shit he’d had to deal with today?

“My original intention was to come up here all excited, raising my voice like, ‘HERE WE GO! WAHOO! PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER FOR THIS THINGY! RA RA GO RANGERS!’ but that doesn’t seem to match the vibe anymore and you clearly all got your excitement out of your system when the pies started to fly. So I’m just gonna skip the theatrics and tell you what the hell I’m doing here.”

With that, Josh would reach behind his ear and tap it. The earpiece hidden behind his long hair would extend to reveal a pair of sunglasses that would reach to his other ear. He would reach into the air then, tapping invisible buttons before hitting one that would reveal a holographic interface for all to see. With a swish of two fingers, the interface would grow in size to be better seen by even those lurking in the back, nursing their pie wounds.

“May I present to you… Well, the name’s still a WIP, Head Ranger man was asking about it before I could file a name patent, so I’ll just describe it” Josh began his introduction, a small smile crossing his features as he began to slowly inject bits and pieces of humor into a conversation that desperately needed that calming balm if they were to get anything done.

He was thinking “HoloVision”. Would that be too on the nose?

“These sunglasses are a prototype of a RaiCorp product that I have been personally overseeing development on. They have been verified as being ready for the field, but obviously there’s the potential for bugs. Head Ranger Anderson and RaiCorp have reached an agreement that in exchange for field testing and providing feedback, I would supply Hoenn’s Rangers with variants of this prototype that have been modified for the purposes of the Rangers. While not perfect just yet by any means, they should serve you well in the coming months. And we need all the help we can get.”

He would hit a holographic button then, and the interface would disappear. “By default, this holographic interface can only be seen by the wearer. You can interact with it via touch or voice commands, similarly to our HoloWatch if anyone here has used one before. Like the HoloWatch, it has access to the internet, phone services, messaging…”

He would bring up the interface again, bringing up a map of the city.

“… It can access local maps, and yes, if I wasn't clear, you can choose to project it for others to see if you need it to” he conveyed as he would tap a building on a map. It would flash and text would appear stating “Lilycove Contest Hall”, just to serve as an example. “And then pop it back into purely your own personal sight at will, all in the perfect disguise of a simple pair of sunglasses. Where you can continue to pull up information on relevant Pokemon, and information on wherever you are. But…”

Swiping it to the side, he would bring up a new set of information on Lilycove. Some might recognize it as being part of the Rangers’ files.

“These glasses in particular are connected to the Rangers’ network and satellites. It can send and receive information to and from any Ranger base in Hoenn, including headquarters, giving you access to our files as is necessary. It can also transmit information to the devices of other Rangers, including sending a GPS signal to the nearest Ranger devices if you’re in danger.”

His expression turned somber for a moment. “Considering all that’s happened recently, I think everyone can agree that backup is the best thing that any of us could ask for in these situations. It may not look it right now. But we’re a unit. We need to depend on one another if we’re going to see this through. And that’s why I’ve done all I can to think up how to best ensure efficiency when help does arrive.”

He would hit a button and look around at the group. They would be able to see on the screen what Josh was seeing — all of them, highlighted in orange.

“For search and rescue operations. Whether for a civilian, or your fellow Ranger. This sensor detects heat signatures and shows enough of a figure for you to guess what and who it might be, and the level of heat allows the device to guess whether it be a person or Pokemon, or how well their life signs are faring. If they have a ranger’s version of the device, of course, it will identify them with it. Course, we’ve also implemented security measures and failsafes so that this doesn’t fall into enemy hands. The glasses are designed to be registered to a user, memorizing your face and voice. If someone tries to hack it, it’ll recognize it, send a report to the nearest base and promptly cut off its connection to the Ranger information network until maintenance can be done at base to restore functions.”

With that, Josh took a deep breath as he turned the device off, and the glasses would gently retract back into the earpiece. He would then pull out the box he had been hiding.

“All interested parties are free to come forward and take one to try out for their missions. They’re not perfected yet, it's meant to be very adjustable to fit different sets of heads and eyes, but some might take some getting used to. At the least, I can guarantee that they’re not gonna crush your melon if you adjust them right. Hopefully when they’re complete, if they work out, I would like to be able to give the option for custom orders to perfectly fit the wearer’s melon measurements.”

So with that, he’d set the box on the table. “So don’t be shy. Feel free to take one. Just one, please, you don’t need two and I shouldn’t need to have to smack your hand like a child caught sneaking one outta the cookie jar.”

- Josh reveals a set of super spy sunglasses with holo tech, modified for the Rangers’ use.

- You can all take one. There should be enough for everyone.

Well, he had tried. It seemed they were going to just have to wait out this storm. So the Senior Ranger just sat back down with his wife and turned on his HoloWatch, looking to see what text messages he had received during this whole ordeal. Hopefully would show back up eventually and they would be able to continue on. Though @matt showing up would only make it worse, and Josh shot him a look that would make the stinkeye he'd given Josh earlier look like child's play.

made a good point though, and Josh nodded towards her.

"Give it time. A meteor that could wipe us out is stressful. I wish they would approach this practically, but it is what it is" he brought up. "But I do agree. Unfortunately, this is for the Head Ranger to get under control."

Josh leaned over then to whisper to

"Speaking of, when we get home we should take the kids for ice cream. I've suddenly been reminded how well-behaved they've been."

With that, he had to turn to his Raichu. Lightning was clearly getting irritated the more tense that this was getting, and he couldn't blame the poor thing. Lightning just wanted food, but now he was out of food, and people were losing their shit. And now the Raichu's cheeks were sparking.

"Don't you dare."

"Raaaiiii-"

"Nooooo."

"Raiiiiiiiii-!"

"I'll put you back in your Pokeball."

Lightning turned to stare at him, looking quite hurt at the idea that he would do that. Josh sighed and would sneak through the droves of arguing Rangers to grab more food.

Within two minutes, the Raichu was placated.

- Sigh.

At first, it seemed like this was going fine. He'd done his best to level the tempo of the room, get everyone calm and trying to focus on the practical side again. And it was working, a few actually began to focus on doing that. But then the guy that had stared Josh down earlier had now decided to nope out, a few speeches, some of which were better, some of which were unnecessarily harsh, later... And then Little Josh was actually yelling.

"Kid," Josh spoke towards after listening to this go on patiently. He was as calm as could be, a patience derived from years of raising two small children. "It was a good speech, but you really didn't have to yell. That just makes it worse."

With a long sigh, it seemed he was going to have to try again. So he would clasp his hands together loudly before taking a deep breath to settle himself.

"The next person to make a snide remark or take a shot at someone here doesn't get to try out the new piece of equipment" he began with, his voice far too calm given the escalating tension, and considering it was a threat, albeit not a very serious one. "We have our purpose here. Let's mosey and get it done. First of all, we need more information on why Fortree and others' specific areas were picked, which I would like to hope can provide for us before we continue to jump down the man's throat. Then we can discuss strategy. That is why we're here, after all."

- Dad Mode is disappointed.

Things were getting hectic fairly quickly. While Izumi tried to help him calm down, none could easily calm down the escalating tensions throughout the room. Capped off by saying that the objections were unprofessional, and then snapping at him. Then stepping in, and well... Finally, the Senior Ranger stood to his feet.

"If I may."

It was spoken calmly, but firmly. Just loud enough to ring through the crowds. Josh was generally soft-spoken, so this would likely come as a surprise to and perhaps even his wife at his decision to actually speak up, much less speak in a way that would catch attention.

"Nobody here has a lack of care for civilians or Pokemon. And if any of you secretly do, you're in the wrong business and I recommend you quietly excuse yourselves" he made bluntly clear as he gazed around at the Rangers scattered around him. "There is a reason that this is a meeting, and not simply a briefing. We were all called here for a reason, and that reason is because you are all considered to be the brightest and most diligent protectors of Hoenn, its people and its Pokemon. The concerns of all here, I have no doubt, hold merit."

He took a deep breath. Okay, it had been a little while since he'd had to do this. But if there was a time to shake off his nerves and find his confidence... It was now.

"What I will NOT have in this meeting is us fighting amongst ourselves, slinging accusations and undermining one another. The purpose for this meeting is for us to convene, put our heads together and find the BEST solution for this issue. Because if Head Ranger Anderson didn't expect to hear your concerns and opinions, and if he didn't expect to have to amend his plan in order to account for issues he hadn't thought of, then it would have been a lot easier to just send us a video instead of calling us all here. And I have confidence that he was chosen for his position BECAUSE of that willingness to hear people out and adapt to find the best way to protect ALL who reside in Hoenn."

He shot a look to then. A blank one, but strong in his gaze. If he proved Josh wrong here, there would be hell to pay.

"I have a family of my own. A family I love and cherish greatly. I have Pokemon that have been with me for upwards to a decade. I understand the importance of these bonds of family, of friendship. And how they need to be protected. And I would not put my faith behind the Head Ranger if I did not think him capable of protecting them. So let's do just that. Let's keep this -shit- civil, and let's find the best way to go that keeps our people safe. And that means putting ideas together, coordinating and making this happen."

With that, he cleared his throat. "Once we're all ready, I have also brought equipment I hope may be useful to the Rangers in this mission. Though that presentation can come when that time is allotted."

- Dad Mode.

Just when Josh was settling in, Small Josh would pop up out of nowhere and speak up without warning. Josh nearly jumped out of his seat, but would manage to save his food.

And save Small Josh from being zapped to oblivion by Lightning who was very much about to for scaring him. Seriously, the meeting had already started, didn't he see people sitting down?

"Likewise" Josh remarked bluntly when Devlin would advise him to "be careful" when people had food in their hands. He knew how terrifying Izumi was from the stories Josh had told, what the hell was the kid thinking? If he scared the Gengar out of her, he wasn't going to be conscious to hear what the boss had to say. "I heard about your promotion. Congrats. Go get a seat, it seems our business has begun."

And what a business it was. As grim as anything. So the rumors about the meteor were true, then. That was already grim as it was, but the fact their countermeasure involved disturbing so many Pokemon habitats... It didn't sit right with him. But if it was necessary in order to save both people and Pokemon, then it was necessary.

Josh reached over to squeeze Izumi's hand tightly.

Wait, was he planning to drop this and THEN put him on the spot? Seriously? After all that?

Shit.

- Tells to go sit his ass down.
- Squeezes the hand of out of stress
- Realizes he has to follow this act.

PRODUCE PRODUCE (Poké Job)

Josh Dragomir's Venusaur, Gustave, had been sent on yet another PokeJob. It swore, this was all it was good for lately. Josh really did need to take it out on more missions. These jobs were the only times it got any sort of exercise outside of the ranch. But if its task was to help with getting these plants to grow? Well, who better than to send a Venusaur, right?

So with that, the Venusaur's vines would dig into the ground as Gustave would rest down. Sure, this wasn't exactly exercise, but at least it was doing something, right? With that, it would begin to exercise the natural abilities that its species was capable of, trying to increase the speed and quality of the yield from these fields...

Ensuring that the area was safe for civilians was part of his training early on, and it was a priority that he had always taken in these scenarios. Simulation or not, this was the way that he did things. And for the time being, it seemed to be working out at least. Some would escape, others would bring out Water Types themselves to help. "Focus on anything preventing escape or that serves an immediate danger! Hit surplus only if it looks like it could spread to a vital spot, or if you've cleared out the vital ones!" Josh called to the supporting Trainers. He was unsure if they would register his commands, considering this was a simulation. But he knew the best thing to do was to handle this like a real life scenario to the best of his abilities.

Which then left him able to pursue the creature. Climbing aboard Dunamus, the Swampert would run across the ground, its bulk ensuring that anyone in its path got out of the way compared to if Josh had tried to navigate on foot. But he would be stopped by even more fire. And then...

"Oh, you have got to be shitting me."

He knew that form as soon as it appeared. It was the same as the creature that had attacked not too long ago. Josh had hoped to save it, but they had been unable to keep it from dying, and all of its little Meltan inside with it. Though for one reason or another, it had spawned eggs... Many of them, in fact, and Josh now had a Meltan of his own to care for. But he wasn't looking forward to fighting a Melmetal again by any means. He just had to remind himself that this was a simulation. The best thing to do was relax and think logically on how to handle this.

Of course, the main threat was still at large too, but he couldn't leave these people to die. "Dunamus, use Mud Bomb and have it explode above the vehicles, rain down mud and dirt on them to smother the fires" Josh instructed first, before calling for people to get out of the way of both the fires and the large rampaging Pokemon. To fully take out a fire this big, he was going to need Muddy Water. And he couldn't do that with people in the way.

Dunamus meanwhile, would shoot an array of Mud Bombs into the air, watching as they exploded and the contents rained down upon the fires. While it wouldn't put them all out at once, the cooling would weaken them severely and anywhere that wasn't on fire when mudded on would be a spot that the fire could no longer spread due to the insulating capabilities of dirt and mud.

And some of it happened to rain down upon Melmetal. Hoping that it would be distracted, Josh would put his Raichu on offense.

"Thunder!" Josh called to Lightning, as the Raichu would unleash a Thunder straight at the Melmetal in order to halt its assault.

- "Focus on anything preventing escape or that serves an immediate danger! Hit surplus only if it looks like it could spread to a vital spot, or if you've cleared out the vital ones!" is directed to those using Water Types for support.

- Quietly swears at the sight of Melmetal.

- Starts trying to get people to move their ass so he can deal with the fires and Melmetal with a heavier hand.

- Swampert uses a barrage of Mud Bomb that explodes above the vehicles and Melmetal, with the mud coming down smothering and cooling the fires, while reducing spread. Josh hopes that some of the mud will impede Melmetal too.

- Raichu uses Thunder on Melmetal.

Being used to navigating these sorts of mountains aboard Fawkes, Josh knew how to scale it quickly through pure efficiency. He knew what turns would reduce Fawkes' speed and when the right time to change direction was if he was to keep the Charizard at a consistent pace. He didn't speak throughout, focusing on what was ahead of him. That was just how he was these days, calm, collected and effective. It made for better morale for his Pokemon as well if he made it clear that he knew what he was doing. If he wasn't panicking, it was safe to assume that he had the matter in hand.

Devlin had a fairly fast mount too though, who knew an AI could generate something that fast? Of course, his lack of knowledge of this game made it so he didn't know that Devlin was actually riding a Manectric with a Raikou "skin", even if the "Raikou" was rather suspicious in its movements and the sounds that it was making.

But then a popup would come into his field of view. He didn't know this game well, but he could take a guess at what the words meant. Josh placed a hand on Fawkes' neck to indicate that they had company, and the Charizard would slow down in response. Then it came -- meteors. Fawkes ducked and weaved without the Trainer's instruction, and it was clear right away why Josh had chosen one of his oldest Pokemon for this. As he didn't know what to expect in this game, Fawkes was the best choice for handling unforeseen occurrences and adjusting on the fly.

But then Josh saw that the kid had been hit. Not knowing how taking damage might impact the kid, Josh would motion for Fawkes to go to him, but they were hit in the side by a meteor in the process.

No pain.

But he felt something for sure, and that told his brain something was wrong enough.

"Oi, kid, you ok?"

"Heh. You'll probably change your mind when you're older" he remarked with an amused smile. "She's got a temper, but she's good to me, and the kids" he added offhand. Oh right, he'd never mentioned he was a dad, did he? Well, now the kid knows. Either way, Josh noticed pretty quickly that his HoloWatch wasn't working with the amount of signal as it should. Weird, these were designed to be fairly long reaching even in bad signal areas. How badly in the middle of nowhere were they? Luckily the Thunderbolt had done the trick as a backup plan, and Devlin would find his way there shortly after. As they weren't to harm the Floatzel, their focus was to be on the stranded survivors. And that meant playing defense.

But the Floatzel kept coming, continuing with Hydro Pump directed at the pair. Meanwhile, he had noticed Devlin preparing an escape craft for the survivors in the form of their Dragonair. Josh smirked slightly at that, as that meant he would be on defensive duty. Fair enough, he supposed. Let the kid practice his customer service face.

The man and his son were clearly nervous about climbing aboard a Pokemon that was still trying to dodge attacks, but they would eventually climb aboard. Meanwhile, the Floatzel had all turned their attacks towards Josh at once. He knew he needed to buy a bit more time, but after Fawkes took a hit from one and was sent right into another Hydro Pump, he knew he needed to find a way to fortify a better defensive barrier.

"Lightning" Josh spoke up to the Raichu as he would activate his left gauntlet, this time holding a Z-Crystal. "Don't aim for them, or for the water. Shoot up above us at an arc so it can act as a shield."

Lightning would let out a cry in affirmative as the Raichu would begin to glow, its cheeks sparking wildly as the Raichu's entire body was soon engulfed in electricity.

"DO IT! LIGHTNING CRASH!"

An extremely powerful Thunder was launched through the air, larger in size than any of the Hydro Pumps as it shot into the distance, protecting the pair from the attacks. The absolute force of the attack would eventually scare most of the Floatzel into fleeing back into the sea.

This whole thing was an embarrassing mess and quite frankly, he was ready to just go and chill somewhere alone, and listen to the briefing from afar if at all possible. But it wasn't good form, he knew, so he'd try and stomach being around so many strangers best he could. Even after he had accidentally infuriated one by scaring the kid. Josh took a deep breath and did his best to put a brave face on.

His HoloWatch would vibrate, and Josh looked to see a text from his boss. was asking if he had brought what they had agreed on, and Josh would send a quick "Yes, sir. I have it with me" in response before returning to this makeshift little party just in time to find a seat alongside and get a bit more food before finding a seat for the actual meeting portion.

First stepped up a man who looked vaguely like someone he'd met before, but he was pretty sure it wasn't them. Their hair made them look the part of a bit of a schemer though... Regardless, with Pikachu in tow would begin his announcement. The sight of the Pikachu seemed to spark the already-impatient behavior of Josh's Raichu, Lightning, who promptly let itself out of its ball and settled down next to Josh and Izumi. Josh could only sigh and smile a bit at that. Expecting Lightning to stay in its ball for too long was, after all, far too much to ask. "I was going to let you out when it was our turn" he whispered amusedly to the Raichu, but Lightning wasn't listening. "Oh well, I expected this. Here you go" Josh brought up then, revealing a second plate of food that he had stocked up for Lightning. It seemed that Josh had been fully prepared for this to happen, though he didn't know when exactly the Raichu would lose patience. It was still a work in progress to get it to go into its ball in the first place.

Promotions, aye? Josh shot a smile in congratulations towards and who were now Ranger Captains. Should he be envious? Probably a tad, but considering his wife was Lavaridge's Ranger Captain, he wasn't all that fussed. The two of them practically ran Lavaridge's branch together anyway and he wasn't one to get hung up on titles. Still, it was good to see these two working their way up and continuing to be of service to the Rangers.

- Answers the text of in affirmative.
- Finds more food and a seat with for the meeting.
- Raichu lets itself out of its Pokeball, but Josh expected this and had already prepared a plate.
- Congratulates the two new Ranger Captains.

"Oh! Sorry" Josh perked back up when Izumi pointed out that in his daze, he had forgotten to help her with hauling in the food. "Of course, let me just..." he trailed off as he would take a set of the sandwiches so that Izumi wasn't hauling the whole thing herself. Sure, with her build, she didn't really need the help. was a real beefa, according to their neighbors. But it was about the principal.

would compliment the food, though Josh simply smiled back. Izumi was the one worth the compliments here. But his attempt to harmlessly greet was met with catastrophe. "Oh geez" Josh muttered with a long sigh as he would send out his Slowking, which would use psychokinesis to quickly dispose of the dropped food. "Sorry, kid" was all he managed out before he was gone, cleaning himself up and then going to greet the others like nothing had happened. Josh simply shrugged, well at least he didn't dwell on it for too long. Though it didn't stop from staring a hole through him. Unsure of what to do -- he couldn't really apologize to someone that wasn't the actual victim, after all -- so he just stared back at him with a blank expression until he moved on.

Moving on, Josh couldn't help but look around at all the busywork going around them. "Wow, I-really don't know anyone here" Josh admitted softly to as he cleared his throat. It was funny, all that practice in public speaking and he still found himself wanting to find a quiet corner somewhere.

- Helps with her sandviches
- Helps with the cleanup using a Psychic Type Pokemon. Tries to apologize to the kid, but he's already up and gone.
- Stares a hole through because he isn't sure what else to do with him staring at him.
- Quietly admits to that he knows almost nobody here and quietly wants to find somewhere to not be socially anxious. Big gatherings were never his thing when he doesn't have a mission to focus on.
