Mason threw out his Poke Ball, and out come with it is a Larvesta. Despite being shy, Mason did what his other opponent did earlier. ”Uhh... Let’s have fun shall we? Goodluck!” he said towards his opponent with a bright smile and waves of a hand.

    Mason had a bad feeling when his opponent used a move to speed up his Pokemon. It was as if he had a gut feeling that he was up against an experienced Pokemon trainer, just like the trainers he battled before.

     But he could not abandon all hope then, he should at least try, ”Vesty use Ember!”. The Larvesta’s horn tips glowed a bright red before flames escaped its mouth and travelled towards the Accelgor.

    Mason was surprised when the opposing Pokemon intentionally took the hit. Mason was then even more confused when it used a Bug-Type move next. He wondered what his opponent was actually up to. Vesty didn’t take that much from the Bug Buzz, ”Vesty retaliate with flame charge!”. It was the Larvesta’s favourite move. Flames cloaked the Pokemon as it began to charge towards the Accelgor.

    It took a while for Mason to register what the other trainer said to him. ‘Come with everything they’ve got?’. Something then clicked in him. Though he couldn’t help but to laugh a little when the Accelgor gave a face at his own trainer. Tell me how that is not amusing. 

     ”Good job Vesty!” Mason exclaimed as the Flame Charge hit. 

     The boy and his Pokemon were in luck because the opposing trainer warned him of it first. Without thinking much about it, Mason shouted, ”Vesty use String Shot on yourself!”. Mason didn’t know where he got the idea, probably from watching those countless Pokemon battles on TV when he was a kid and that sudden memory just came to him in that tense moment. 

     The Larvesta encased itself in a cocoon of silk, protecting itself from the oncoming Water Shuriken. Mason let out a breath of relief he didn’t know he was holding. If that Water Shuriken had hit Vesty it would have been over for them.

    Mason was on his toes when the Accelgor had used Water Shuriken. So when the Accelgor released the acid from its insides, Mason shouted, ”Flame Charge away!”. It was the only way to escape from both the silky threads and the oncoming acid. 

     The Larvesta’s body bursted into flames. incinerating the strings from earlier. The Torch Pokemon instantaneously ran aside from the direction of the Acid Spray, missing it by a few inches, and began charging at the Accelgor.

tldr; Vesty uses Flame Charge to get out of the cocoon and avoid the Acid Spray. Then it charges at the Accelgor.

    There was no avoiding the Bug Buzz. But both Mason and Vesty know that there was a bright opportunity for them. They just had to push through a little more. 

     Vesty took the Bug Buzz attack head first, but he didn’t stop running. He and his trainer had the same idea of what needed to be done. ”Flare Blitz!”. The already flaming Torch Pokemon surrounded itself with much more intense fire. An inferno circled around Vesty, as he ran, red flames trailed behind him. 

     The Larvesta focused on one thing only at that moment. To hit the Accelgor with all it got.

tldr; Vesty took the Bug Buzz damage. But it kept running and used Flare Blitz.
