POKEMON CONTESTS ARE ON HOENN! Strive to become one of the region's top coordinators by performing stunning choreography with your Pokemon. The region is well known for its contest circuit— and in times of despair, Hoennians flock to these performances to feel inspired and hopeful.

HOW TO & MECHANICS

HOW TO START?

POKEMON CONTESTS WILL NOT BE MODERATED, save for the end where rewards are distributed. In other words, Pokemon Contests are entirely self-directed by the participating players and their characters![break][break]

To start a Pokemon Contest, select one of the following categories: cool, beauty, clever, tough, cute. However, feel free to theme your contests in different manners. For example, consider a battle of the bands instead or perhaps, a competition of floral design using grass-type pokemon like the reality show, The Big Flower Fight.[break][break]

You must find a minimum of 4 CHARACTERS to participate. Furthermore, feel free to elect a character to play the role of announcer, but that is not a necessary prerequisite.[break][break]

After, designate someone to create the Pokemon Contest thread and include the tag [bc] in the title. If you have an announcer, it is recommended that they start the thread using one the Pokemon Contest templates found here. Feel free to have a non-announcer character use these templates too, if you would like to someone to moderate the thread. These templates are not necessary for you to use.[break][break]

To complete a Pokemon Contest thread, everyone must post at least THREE TIMES, which can be flavored as THREE ROUNDS. Please note, your character can only participate in a Pokemon Contest a maximum of three times a month, however, this is subject to change.

HOW DO I WIN?

TO WIN A POKEMON CONTEST, you must decide amongst the participating players who the winner is. You can decide who the runner up is, etc. However, ICly, the Pokemon Contest will have ties broken by a coin flip or a roll of the dice.[break][break]

However, you can also play with a simple ROLL COMMAND SYSTEM where the character who rolls the highest wins. Feel free to make up your own systems, for the Pokemon Contest templates also feature an area to edit "APPEAL" which is a system in the games.[break][break]

AFTER THE CONTEST IS OVER, please submit the thread into mod reqs and identify who the winner is. The winner will then be added to the Contest Hall Gallery below. As a note, the "MISC. CONTEST WINNER" category is reserved for winners who have won contests with custom themes.[break][break]

Furthermore, if your character is in the CONTEST HALL GALLERY, they can redeem prizes or rewards on the last day of the month via a site shop post! For every category they are able to achieve a standing in, they can redeem 10 POKEDOLLARS & 1 RAINBOW SHARD. For example, if your character has won a pokemon contest in all six categories, they can redeem 60 POKEDOLLARS TOTAL & 6 RAINBOW SHARDS at the end of every month![break][break]
