her Toxapex and Primarina were posed for combat. Siobhan placed the breathing tube in her mouth as she readied the other parts of her Scuba Gear. she gave a thumbs up to her opponent before sloshing her way into the depths. hopefully he'd follow.

she agreed to the underwater battle because it was an experience. but that did not mean she would be a pushover; Tyrant was easily nasty in his natural habitat, the Shiny Toxapex eager to begin.

At least with underwater battles, he didn’t mind so much—he was borne from the City in the Crater after all.

And to think he had the two Water-types that could help him out—while one of them was newer, the other had a recent overhaul and was out here for the actual test run.

What, sometimes an actual battle was the better teacher than just having to hit practice dummies all the time! Quickly sending out the Starmie and the Greninja ahead, he took his time strapping on the tank breathing device before diving underwater and following his Pokémon.

The good thing here was that it wasn’t his jackass Mareanie facing off against the other Water-types… oh dear.

her Pokémon knew what to do. Tyrant would unleash Toxic, a seeping purple mass from it's body trying to inflict Poison on the nearest Pokémon it could get to.

meanwhile, Selkie would use Moonblast on the Greninja, having an actual target. Tyrant didn't seem to give a shit what he could poison first, as long as he could have a hearty meal afterward for a job well done.

he was eyeballing the sushi bar from here.

No sooner had he gotten close enough to join the Starmie and Greninja did the other two Pokémon on the opposite side of the ‘arena’ began opening fire!

The Starmie ‘flew’ ahead through the water, and the Greninja knew to close her eyes before a sinister beam of light erupted from the jewel in its center, a Confuse Ray headed toward the two opponents ahead of them.

However, there was the little problem of the incoming purple poison—and in moments it had overtaken the Starmie.

There was a few moments before the Greninja saw the incoming Moonblast of energy, before concentrating for a bit—and then suddenly, there were more of her.

A Double Team tactic; as the incoming burst of lunar energy hit one of the Greninja—only for the ‘decoy’ to vanish.

Starmie used Confuse Ray on the Toxapex; while Greninja used Double Team to evade the Moonblast attack!

Starmie is hit by Toxic! Starmie is poisoned!

endeavor complete: inflict confusion!

it was next to impossible to speak to the other human from underwater. Siobhan drifted near the surface but also did not surface. just enough for her breathing tube to suck in much needed air before she hovered over the field of battle.

Tyrant had succeeded in poisoning but not before a foe would Confuse him. his attempt at a Venom Drench missed and he hit himself in the process. steering into a little coral reef, he hit his head.

Primarina would react to her friend's condition over her own. a Life Dew shot out, restoring some health to the Toxapex and herself.

Even if the Starmie looked like it was struggling, the aquatic Pokémon pushed on. Seeing that the Primarina was the one who was busy now, the dual-type then spun around, before loosing a Power Gem attack at the fairy-seal.

While the advantage was on his side, the Greninja didn’t follow up the Rock-type attack as it hurtled through the water. Although she wanted to drop some Toxic Spikes around the place, fact of the matter was that there was a Toxapex on the opposite side of the field, and they could easily negate what she was thinking of firing off.

So instead…

The Greninja takes aim at the Toxapex and lets loose with an Ice Beam attack.

Starmie used Power Gem on Primarina; while Greninja used Ice Beam on the Toxapex.

Starmie is poisoned! Starmie takes some damage.

t'was a good thing the Life Dew was used when it was. with nearly full health now, Lars' Pokémon's' attacks didn't damage them as badly. both attacks hit where they wanted, but Toxapex snapped out of confusion long enough for it to use Venoshock on the Starmie.

Selkie retaliated by using Hydro Pump on the ninja, her attack not as effective but it was something. the Primarina was freshly caught, so she didn't have a wide arsenal like Tyrant.

The Starmie spun around and saw that there was something purple incoming—before releasing a blast of rainbow-colored Psychic energy in an attempt to deflect the incoming Venoshock attack.

Hissing behind the breathing apparatus, Lars saw the Greninja turn to face him, before he nodded in the amphibian’s direction.

Taking the Water-type attack, the Greninja isn’t bothered by it (mostly) before sending out a sudden bust of Extrasensory energy at the Primarina.

Looks like someone had to do some of the lifting around here, considering that his original plan was to have the Starmie attack up front—but that wasn’t going to be the case today it seemed.

Starmie used Psychic to block the incoming Venoshock and divert it away; while Greninja took the Hydro Pump and retaliated with Extrasensory on the Primarina.

Starmie is poisoned! Starmie takes some damage.

Tyrant would shrilly coo, his attack not reaching the Starmie at all. this sent him into a near frenzied state, his need to poison itching closer to obsession. he sent a Venom Drench next, hoping to cut down at least something from the Starmie.

it would be a show of stats. Selkie was hit dead-on with Extrasensory, causing her to Growl lowly at the ninja frog. her eyes narrowed, focusing entirely on him as she shot forward into the water.

normally a ranged attacker, she tried to get closer.

The Greninja buckled a bit at the Primarina’s attempt to be cute—before it rushed forward.

The Starmie, on the other hand, was still on the defensive—however this was looking to be a bad time for the purple Pokémon. In order to make some purchase against the Toxapex, the Starmie took the incoming attack, before finally getting a chance to blast at the Toxapex with a powerful burst of Psychic energy.

The amphibian Pokémon then lashed out with a Night Slash attack, attempting to find purchase on the approaching Primarina.

Starmie took the Venom Drench attack before attempting to blast the Toxapex with Psychic; while the Greninja attempts to shake off the Primarina and lashed out with Night Slash.

Starmie is poisoned! Starmie takes more damage.

the Toxapex was hit with the Psychic, causing him and Siobhan to flinch. she watched as the poison time shuddered in pain, before light engulfed his body. he Recovered from some of the damage.

Selkie would dodge the incoming Night Slashes by using several Hydro Pump to push her quickly in the water. now Siobhan's team was on the defensive. interesting.

Shit!

The Starmie’s spinning was slowing down—which was bad. Thankfully there was a move in its arsenal they could use—hopefully to stave off the poison that was seeping through its system.

The Starmie then used Recover in an attempt to regain some health.

Another burst of Extrasensory followed the retreating Primarina—the incoming Water-type attacks weren’t of much concern to the Greninja who was now giving chase to the other.

Starmie used Recover as well; while the Greninja attempts to chase after the Primarina and attacked with Extrasensory.

Starmie is poisoned! Starmie takes more damage.

screeching under the depths, Tyrant used Venoshock again. the Starmie's slowing down was enough for him to take the offensive, trying to hit the spinning star successfully.

the Primarina would rush away in a flurry, keeping a short distance between herself and the Greninja. she turns on the spot suddenly, shooting a Moonblast. hopefully it would hit this time.

Oh double shit.

While the Starmie had done her best to regain some health, fact of the matter was that there was another attack coming in—staining the water purple in the process.

Unfortunately the Greninja was too busy trying to defend herself from the Primarina as well—however there was no way he was going to throw in the towel just yet!

The Starmie took the attack aimed at her head-on, before retaliating with another burst of Psychic energy at the Toxapex, while the Greninja swam right into the Fairy-type attack, being forced backwards—shit, indeed.

A last-minute ditch attempt at another Night Slash was thrown through the water towards the Primarina.

Starmie takes the Venoshock attack before attempting to retaliate with a Psychic attack on Toxapex; while the Greninja tanks the Moonblast before attempting to retaliate with another Night Slash attack.

Starmie is poisoned! Starmie takes even more damage from Venoshock + poisoned status.
