Alexei's words had Leslie letting out a nervous sort of laugh. That sort of, 'oh man I called his Pokémon the wrong gender and he's still hitting on me' sort of laugh... if there was a nervous laugh for that sort of thing, Leslie made it.
After silencing himself Leslie tried to cover his blush and clear his throat. This was normal, it really was, but he couldn't help how his cheeks heated. He hadn't had a boyfriend in a while, and those were barely considered boyfriends. And Alexei... well, he was just, he was different. Different in the best ways.
"Sorry I called her a he."
Best to begin with an apology, right? Leslie moved over to the couch and held out his hand to take Alexei's bowl, though it did halfway look like he was asking for Alexei's hand too.
"Here, I'll wash it."
Yes, he was going to ignore their innuendos and the like. Why? Because Leslie wasn't really sure he wanted to take the injured man...
