it's the nickname that gets priam to smile. he only went over because he wanted to see whatever was in theo's basement and then maybe go back home, but now his plans have changed.

"you know it's not that hard to win me over, bestie."

whatever it was, priam most likely already appreciates it. the threshold for priam's excitement was very low and getting him hyped up was almost a guarantee. making it seem like a surprise already gets him close to it.

without regard to being kidnapped again by another rocket, priam follows theo to whichever room he brings him to.

inside the tank is a pyukumuku, a gift from Chu-e Choi. its suctioned to the side of the tank but it's moving, albeit slowly. he offers it a small wave.

"say hi, bestie."

like an excited kid, priam can't help but get urged to tap the glass of the aquarium. he has experience with aquarium fish and should know it's a bad idea, but it's like a primal instinct to tap.

"hello pyuku!" he greets.

he watches the pokemon to see if it reacts to him, but before it can even do so, another though invades priam's head. he turns to theo quickly to voice it out.

"i have one of them too! they're really cool when you squeeze them and things start to leak out of it. have you tried it?"

"ooh..." he turns from theo to the pyukumuku in the glass. "hello rabbit."

he stares at the pyukumuku near the glass of the tank. it looks identical to the one he has in his pc, but he somehow feels like his is cuter. probably because the eyes of his own pyukumuku has more life than theo's, but he's not saying that.

"okay, i'll take her out of the aquarium now."

priam dips his hand in the water, which he expected to be slimy since fish are slimy, and picks the pyukumuku out of its container. he then turns to theo, points the water-type at him, and squeezes the pyukumuku until it reacts.

[attr="class","beck"]if rabbit could speak she'd say hello, too. instead, she simply blows bubbles with her tiny mouth.

"okay."

the water is pretty slimy; the surface is coated with rabbit's slime. rabbit's soon pointed at theo, and as priam squeezes, rabbit lets out a giggle of sorts before her INNARDS slide OUT of her body.

some even fall to the ground, though still connected.

"very funny, rabbit."

priam smiles.

the way its guts spew out of itself was amusing to say at least. priam tries to push it back to rabbit's body before a though crosses his mind and drops the pyukummuku's guts from his hands again.

"do you wanna touch the white parts?"

the way it protrudes out of the pyukumuku was disgusting, but not outright vile. even so, rockets most likely had already steeled their stomachs to be immune to these kinds of reactions.

like a kid, he hesitates, but soon allows excitement and curiosity to take over. he grabs pyukumuku's guts and gives them a playful squeeze.

"it's soft. squishy. almost like jelly."

he returns the pyukumuku back to its tank after they finished playing with its guts. it drops like a stone when it goes back into the water.

"did you know pyukumuku can also neutralize poison?"

it's like common knowledge for people who use pyukumuku in the field, but he's not sure if hobbyists know it too. either way, priam feels smart by telling a fact so he does it for himself.

"like if you get stung by a tentacool at the beach, you won't need to pee on it anymore if you have rabbit! have you peed on a tentacool sting before?"

he looked old and experienced. priam guesses yes.

he shakes his head, lying as he says:

"no, i didn't know."

at the second qustion, he nods.

"i have peed on a sting before, yes. it was not a fun time for anyone."

an idea pops into his head, one he decides to voice.

"we should go fishing sometime."

"ooh! i like fishing!"

it's a surprising hobby for someone that's always on the go like priam. contrary to popular belief, he can actually sit still for more than five seconds.

"did you know i'm a vermillion boy? of course i'd love fishing! when are you free? there's a spot i usually go to at lilycove, but you might know more, i think!"

it's a coincidence, maybe, but he won't say no to the invitation.

"that's a date then!" he takes out his phone and saves the date on his calendar that he barely even checks. "fishing date with bestie theo..." he dictates as he types it.

priam starts to daydream about what they're going to do during the date. a boat would be nice, as well as a lapras ride, but doing it at th docks is fine too. and then he wonders what kind of fisher theo is. instead of mulling over it, he asks him directly.

"are you the type to fish a fish and cook it or do you let them go afterwards?"
