Soleil was brimming with excitement, it hadn't been that long since she'd set herself up a spot at the beach to keep herself from overheating—a towel, parasol & a cooler full of drinks—when she'd cheerily challenged her brother to a pokémon battle for the H✩T![break][break]

"Hey Bryan, how about we battle for this?! It'd be my first actual pokémon battle!"[break][break]

Her suggestion echoed in her own mind, rocking back and forth on her heels with excited fervor, poké balls at the ready, though Poffin was already up front and ready for a fun time!

He worried about a million things, would she over-heat? Huge cooler with drinks, a parasol and a fan for her to solve that. What if she starts to feel ill? Audino was on deck to sustain her until she got back to the hospital. [break][break]

What about if someone tried to hurt her? He had quite a few vicious Pokémon ready to tear someone up if they'd even lay a hand on her. Bryan in unison with gogoat carried all the things they'd need for the perfect beachh day and watch the battles. [break][break]

However what he was NOT ready for was Soleil wanting to battle. "You sure?" he asked hesitantly but was glad at least Soleil seemed full of life and eagerness. "Alright then. Don't expect me to go easy on you. It's time for you to learn how to battle." he told her as it seemed like she was going to go with Poffin. [break][break]

Bryan gripped a pokeball and tossed out one of his 2 audinos. The one Soleil would not be familiar with. "Alright are you ready? You can go with the first move."

She'd stuck her tongue out in mischievous protest, "I'd be mad if you held back!" She'd retorted with a cheery smile. Nonetheless, the battle was on, and Bryan was giving Soleil the first move! Mustering up some vague idea of a strategy, Soleil had declared aloud, "Cotton Guard, Poffin! Let's keep ourselves nice and strong!" The pastel trainer's Altaria, receiving the command had bunched its cotton-like feathers together, creating a tougher network to protect itself from any potential physical attacks! Soleil was focused on getting herself a good defense, she wanted to at least try and give her brother a run for his money!

A defensive opener was not a bad option at all, giving yourself an immediate edge over your opponent in any sense was always valid. Let's start off simple and see how she reacts to it "Use thunderbolt" [break][break]

He calls out as Audino's fur fluffed up as electricity crackled around it's body and then shot out towards altaria in a couple of arcs.

Soleil wasn't quite experienced with battles—if her declaration of this being her first one wasn't clear—she'd hesitated and panicked for just a second too long, "Poff--" by the time she'd called to dodge, the Altaria had been struck by the bolt of lightning—yet he remained steady, turning back for a moment to reassure his trainer before focusing once more on the Audino.[break][break]

"Are you alright?! Alright, let's fire off a Dragon Pulse!" Shaking away loose thoughts, she'd quickly decided that if her brother was going to push the offensive, she'd shored up her defenses plenty to deal with it and would have to fight back!

[attr="class","bryanbody"]She still had plenty of nerves, it was only natural to be upset at your pokemon getting hurt. But these creatures were much more resilient than humans and she'd have to keep that in mind. [break][break]

God he was gonna be bad at this teaching thing wasn't he? He already wanted to step in and take over for her but if he did that she'd never learn and get used to it. As bryan was lost in his thoughts Soleil was already recovering by firing back a dragon pulse at his audino who took the hit head on. "Oh crap, you caught me off guard." he told her as he just had to fight naturally. [break][break]

"Alright Audino! Let's return that favor! Get in close and use zen headbutt!" Audino started to run straight towards Alteria as a blue spot on the top of audino's head began to glow and crackle with a blue colored energy as she charged head on to try and inflict a flinch on alteria.

"You better not be going easy on me!" She'd called out with a pouty huff in response to Bryan's apparent lapse in concentration, though thankfully this time, she'd gotten a bit more time to react, "Poffin, dodge and fire off a Moonblast!" She'd quickly made her plan apparent, the flying pokémon taking to the sky as quick as he could before firing off a fairy-type move this time around at the Audino, hoping to hit it while it recovered!

But one key factor in this battle that would make all the difference was, for once Bryan wasn't drunk battling. [break][break]

"Audino, iron tail it back." he commands as Audino's little puff tail turned into metal as she spun around to smack the Moon blast, due to typing match up the Moon blast bounced right off the iron tail back towards Poffin. "Let's see how you handle your own moves turning on you."

"Wait-- hey, no!" Soleil had flashed through a variety of expressions as her older brother's plan had dawned on her, panic stirring in her as Bryan's Audino had struck back Poffin's own Moon Blast! Soleil and Poffin's inexperience showing clearly when neither had figured out what to do to deal with it until the Altaria had indeed ended up getting hit by its own attack![break][break]

Puffing her cheek up in a frowning pout, "If a Moon Blast won't work, how about we go for a Round, Poffin?!" she'd exclaimed, the Altaria chirping loudly, a melodic tune weaponized as the song seemed to be loud and powerful enough to have some windforce to it, clearly kicking up sand as it barreled towards the Audino!

[attr="class","bryanbody"]The round was a good choice, the move was sound based in nature so unless Bryan had protect he was going to get hit. Which unfortunately, he did not have protect so the round collided with audino's sensitive ears and managed to do a decent chunk of damage to the pink and beige blob. [break][break]

"Audino, drain punch and get your health back." the move was resistent to the dragon flying type but it wouldn't matter if Audino was able to heal itself a bit and deal damage at the same time.

Having taken the Drain Punch, the Altaria had stumbled back a bit, before using the momentum to flutter back to make distance. "Er... things aren't looking good, Poffin, how about a Sing while we try and recuperate?" she'd shouted out in encouragement, the songbird pokémon doing just so and trying to chirp a tune to hopefully put the Audino to sleep, more of a desperation attempt than anything else considering the likelihood of sing usually working.[break][break]

Soleil's brow was somewhat furrowed with worry, she wasn't quite comfortable seeing her pokémon get hurt this much for battle, but she'd tried her best to trudge forward without worrying her brother too much.

[attr="class","bryanbody"]The audino was slowly lulled off to sleep as the sing was quite effective on the pokemon as it was slowly growing tired from these moves. It tried to resist at first but the sweet words poffin was whispering in Audino's ear were too tempting to NOT sleep. [break][break]

Audino dozes off, leaving Soleil a little bit of room to breath. Yet Bryan would sit there trying to wake up audino by calling out to it "Audino! Wake up! Cmon!" he shouts at the pokemon over and over.

Breathing a sigh of relief as she'd managed to buy herself some time to think, "While we can, let's pile on some damage, Dragon Pulse, Poffin!" Soleil called out while her brother had tried to rouse his Audino awake, the Altaria unleashing a brilliant blue blast of draconic energy at the slumbering pastel jellybean with legs.[break][break]

The heat was starting to get to Soleil in the meanwhile though, even under the shade—she'd been a little too focused on the battle though, not really noticing the intense sunlight bearing down on her delicate body. She'd felt a little shaky on her feet for a fleeting moment, yet otherwise hadn't thought much of it, continuing to watch the battle.

[attr="class","bryanbody"]Audino woke up almost immediately as the dragon pulse collided with her body. She was sent flying into the air from the attack, giving her optimal positioning for an attack. They'd worry about the landing strategy later. [break][break]
"Audino! Ice beam!" he called out as an intense beam of frost and ice fired out towards the Alteria as he tried to freeze it solid in retalation for that sing putting her off to sleep. Bryan was so swept up in the battle that he failed to realize that signs of soleil suffering in the heat.
