”Hell yeah! Way to go, Pez!” Easily distracted as Vic was prone to be, watching the Dragonite punch his way through an airborne tree was enough to – if only for a second – make him forget about how dire this situation could turn out to be.

The answer to this question became clear the moment Zac pulled him to cover, Vic being able to do no more than let out a confused ”Wha–HUH?!” as his eyes went wide at the sight of the sheer magnitude of Tapu Bulu’s Nature Madness. It was, as the name so fitting implied, madness – the whole arena was suddenly bursting with deadly flora that seemed to exist with the sole intention of teaching the Dragonite a lesson.

That lesson may have gone something like this: Karma’s a bitch, bitch.

And the dragon ignored it, obviously.

Stubborn and outraged as he was, Pez tried to fight his way through the storm of thorns, but flying was impossible when the air was filled with sharp briars that threatened to tear through the membrane of his wings, and withstanding the Fairy energy-infused winds was a whole different challenge on its own. He fell, and he fell fast, the beach not doing much to cushion his fall while a Dragonite-shape hole was left in the sand.

”Pez!” Vic ran, in part because he was worried about his pokémon, and in part because he knew all too well that if the Dragonite wasn't unconscious, he was probably going to try to attack Tapu Bulu again the moment he managed to stand. The last thing he wanted was for his stupid dragon to end up getting seriously injured by a legendary pokémon.

So, he did the wise thing and called the Dragonite back to his pokéball, a sigh of relief escaping him the moment Pez was gone from the arena.

”Ah, I’m really sorry about your trees, Tapu Bulu,” he said to the legendary, as if this would fix anything.

Though, to be fair, he was probably going to go plant some trees later.
