Great, another happily married person


One of these men had the stench of a happily married man.

How enviable. Sad and blank faced as always, Gwyar stood around awkwardly in silence as the battle tent ceiling opened up to reveal a beautiful sky he was not apt to properly appreciate.

The announcer quickly went through the challengers- himself, one , and two other no name NPCs.

"I wish you all a good match." He said after a moment, truly meaning it but unable to convey much emotion into his words at the moment.

Besides him, Raki sighed for a moment before stepping forth to his opponents. On one side, a Stoutland. On the other, a Crobat. And lastly...

They needed better names for these things.

What was this? A 'three on three match with three trainers on each side'.

You'd call that a triple battle right? But instinctively wouldn't you think a triple battle was 'three trainers with one pokémon each' but that fell under the category of Battle Royale.

He didn't quite get it but that's what this tournament was for.

Seviper emerged from her pokéball ready to impress and proud to be back with her original trainer.

"Let's all just do our best." He didn't weigh down his team with the expectation of winning. Nor throw stones at the other team.

He considered this a trial run for this battle type, he was here to learn something new.

Great, another happily married person


The referee signaled the battle to begin, and just about everyone launched into motion. The trainers for the Stoutland and Crobat issued their orders, which their pokemon followed promptly.

Gwyar said nothing but Raki acted all the same, rushing forth to meet the charging Stoutland in a sound, booming clash that sent both flying back.

The Crobat flew over them while twirling erratically, venomous spikes spreading all over the field's floors as Raki leapt back to his feet with a growl just a step too slow.

The Stoutland was upon him without warning, jaw blazing jaw biting down on his shoulder and drawing yelp and whine of pain out of the puppy, before a supercharge of aura surrounded him and he countered, effectively throwing the other dog across the field with a furious bark.

The Crobat ignored the canine duo for the moment, its gaze settling upon the other poison type on the field instead- before it flapped its wings wildly at it, releasing twin scythes of wind its way!

Raki used Quick Attack!
Stoutland used Take Down!
Crobat used Toxic Spikes!
Stoutland used Fire Fang!
Raki is burned! Raki flinched! Raki's inner focus triggered! Raki used Counter!
Crobat used Air Cutter on Seviper!

With the two hound pokémon going head to head the two poison types took up suit. However. seviper knew better than to waste precious time on another poison type.

A creature that skillfully weaponized poisons would come to understand over time that time was their ally. The earlier on in an encounter that the opponent was poisoned, the better.

Other things that poisoned things didn't suffer from poison as much.

The crobat wasn't its kind of prey.

It took the Air Cutter attack just to get close enough.

With a yellow flash of her eyes seviper sought to paralyze the winged attacker with a death stare.

Seviper used GLARE!
Crobat was paralyzed!

Raki and the Stoutland were locked in a glaring contest now that the counter had finally separated them.

Mostly because a field of toxic spikes stood between them.

Neither wanted to be dumbass who got poisoned for making the wrong move.

Unfortunately for the Stoutland however, it had no ranged moves; a critical oversight of its trainer. Even worse- Raki could make do.

Eyeing the poison type confrontation, Raki smirked, before turning his gaze back to the Stoutland...

And narrowing his gaze, eyes flashing. Almost immediately, the Stoutland's own eyes widened in return, its body freezing in place as if under the gaze of a predator!

The same had ocurred with the Crobat, its body freezing in place for a moment as its eyes widened, a chill moving through its spine as it fell to the floor.

Crobat was paralyzed!
Raki used Copycat! Raki used Glare!
Stoutland was paralyzed!

As the Seviper and Riolu closed in on each other having put their previous opponents into paralysis.

Seviper went for the cheaper tactic; paralyze everything and take her time wearing them down.

When the riolu was close enough the Seviper welled back on its belly showing the unsettling colors of its bands as this time its teeth flashed purple and dripped burning poisons.

Seviper used GLARE!

Raki momentarily froze as the viper glared him down, feeling a chill travel down the length of his spine as he looked down its gaping maw and saw the venom dripping off its fangs.

For a moment, he seemed completely at its mercy- until his body budged ever so slightly, his teeth grit, and he released a frightened bark, reeling back before swinging his paw wildly at the pokemon!

In the back, the other two slowly began twitching back to life!

Raki is paralyzed! He managed to attack with Rock Smash, though! Maybe next round?
Stoutland is paralyzed!
Crobat is paralyzed!

When Seviper had the chance to turn the battle to her side she wasted no time.

She had been traded away once before.

For a cold-blooded thing she didn't like being sent away with a new human.

She didn't understand what she had done to get her human back, but she wasn't going to make any mistakes.

Seviper used BELCH!

Quickly she blasted the Riolu with the putrid stench of her belch accompanied by a small misting of her stomach bile, which smelled worse actually.

Not stopping there with the other pokémon still trying to get back to their feet she slithered over to her Crobat 'friend' to use the same BELCH attack, which was the strongest she had, even if the crobat had a resistance.

Seviper used BELCH!
It's not very effective...

Raki was understandably unamused by this- Crobat, also did not much enjoy having another pokemon's vile dumped on it so unceremoniously.

Covered in sizzling, painful acid, Raki panted but stomped hard on the floor before launching forward to try and punt the Seviper across the face with its foot.

For its part, the screeching Crobat's cries reached levels that were blatantly painful to listen to, disorienting anyone unlucky enough to be on the receiving end.

Stoutland twitched. Poor guy.

Raki is used quick attack.
Stoutland is paralyzed!

It was really Sénon's bad for forgetting how fast and determined Riolu could be.
Debate-ably, Jūken was his most disciplined fighter. ()

Seviper had guts and she tried hard but she lacked a Riolu/Lucario's battle awareness.



She never saw the kick coming.

One minute she's trying to keep her team together, the next minute she's flying and confused on how it happened.

Seviper is confused!

She wasn't knocked out but she couldn't fight while being shot through the air either. With any luck, the paralysis wasn't done ravaging their nerves just yet.

Raki's vindictiveness was something Gwyar needed to work out of his system, but for now, it served a purpose well enough, allowing his stubbornness to come through for them.

Unfortunately, his paralysis decided to act up immediately after.

As he landed, his entire body seemed to freeze up, sending the Riolu face planting to the floor.

Right onto the many venomous spikes the Crobat had spread around earlier.

For its part, Crobat flew higher in the air now that it, trying to put some distance between itself and its enemies to recoup.

Stoutland was paralyzed. His trainer was wailing.

Raki is paralyzed! Raki is poisoned!
Stoutland is paralyzed!
Crobat used fly! (Can it use fly?)

She landed in the distance the force of the fall rattling her senses.

She didn't know where she was, she couldn't smell anything familiar.

Her orientation was still wrong, and she didn't know why but her head hurt too. It made her tense her body, straining herself unnecessarily.

Seviper is confused!
it hurt itself in its confusion!

None of this made sense. She couldn't figure it out and it was driving her mad.

The Crobat's flapping ceased not a few moments later, its body falling back to the floor with a wet thud right besides Raki's own, the spikes digging into its flesh; it couldn't be poisoned by its own venom, but it still hurt.

Raki remained paralyzed, body twitching with the pain of poison.

Stoutland continued to be paralyzed, his trainer curling up in a ball in the corner and being broody.

All in all, the battle had become a competition to see who could stand up first, leaving the spectators and trainers to look on in tense silence.

Seviper finally caught hold of something that felt familiar.

Something that pulled at her most basic instincts; warmth.

She wrapped around its body, basking in the heat that rolled off it.

She could remember now and she was pissed.

Bursting through the spikes tore through her snakeskin but it fueled her madness even if it slightly weakened the attack.

Seviper is confused no more!
