Gwyar certainly looked like he could lift a car but with Raki following him around, he wasn't sure how the young man had gotten the impression he was that strong.

Maybe he was just looking for an easy way.

Either way, the blonde wasn't one to turn down a fight; any fight was a chance to grow for Raki.

"Certainly am, young man! Though I'm afraid if you are looking for a tough challenge, you may be disappointed." He told the youth outright, his Riolu stepping forth and crossing his arms over his tiny chest, smiling up at the youth. "If you are still fine with us however, then by all means... You may have the first move."

A grimmsnarl... Now that was a pokemon he was well acquainted with. A favorite in the Galarian circuit.

As the large imp flexed at Raki, the Riolu replied in kind, posing dramatically whole showing off his tiny back muscles before leaping forward to meet the Grimmsnarl's fist with its own!

A booming shockwave rocked the sandy dunes of the beach, whipping up a dust cloud around the duo as their fists cracked together!

it surprises grimmsnarl as well. his muscles tense, growing in size after the first POWER-UP PUNCH, and though the usual plan is to keep throwing more, he's suddenly wary of letting the riolu copy him.

so through the cloud, grimmsnarl swings his other first in an attempt to SPIRIT BREAK.

Raki grinned with an air of cockiness as his arm struggled against the Grimmsnarl's, a rush of confidence and ego going through him at Danny's words.

The Grimmsnarl's next move was good for ego popping, the point blank spirit break sending the little Riolu hurtling back across beach, his body rolling over the floor before he managed to right himself and grind to a halt.

He fell to a knee a moment later, face scrunched up. Super effective moves... He hated those... And he felt like crap for some reason...

"Don't be disheartened just yet." Gwyar cut in simply. "It's an opportunity, is it not?"

... Yes it was! The Riolu gathered his paws together tiredly, fae link light crackling around his arms and gathering together into a sphere before he reeled back and launched it at his opponent with a howl!

[attr="class","danny"]watching the riolu fly back like that makes him feel a little guilty, but this is the nature of battling. pokemon get hurt. the important thing is that they learn and grow from it.

"you're doing great, riolu!"

grimmsnarl turns back as if to ask for approval as well.

"you too grimster!"

it's from that distraction that allows the SPIRIT BREAK to connect. it slams against grimmsnarl but it's not enough to send him off his feet.

grimmsnarl turns, roars, then returns a POWER-UP PUNCH after closing in.

If Raki was anything, it was competitive. He was gonna get more kudos from DANNY HALL than the big guy! HE WOULD.

His gaze snapped over his shoulders expectantly, were Gwyar stood with a blank look on his face. He blinked, before scratching at the back of his head.

"Ah, Oh... You are doing wonderfully, Raki." The man assured the puppy.

RIGHT!

He leapt forth to meet the imp's fist with his own once again, though his earlier injuries made him flinch slightly as their fists connected and the shock traveled the length of his arm!

[attr="class","danny"]POWER-UP PUNCH meets POWER-UP PUNCH once again. grimmsnarl flinches slightly as well, pain rushing through his arm. but his size plays a natural advantage here and he holds on, pushing through the pain only to drop down low before swinging his HAMMER ARM across riolu's body.

Hello young man.

Raki reeled back as their fists finally snapped back from one another, waving his wrist around to try and walk off the pain on his paws.

He knew he shouldn't try to get into contests of strength with opponents so much larger than him, but he hated nothing more than retreating.

Still, alarm filled his face as the Grimmsnarl lifted its arm and threatened to swing it down upon his shoulder.

His stance broadened as his legs spread under him, his teeth gritting as he was hammered down into the floor, heels cratering the earth as he was forced into a near ass to the floor squat.

The Riolu almost felt something crack on his shoulder, but his arms snaked around the other's all the same.

Aura surged around the Riolu as he yanked onto it suddenly, attempting to bring the imp closer before bringing his fist crashing into his solar plexus!

at that, grimmsnarl sighs, then bows his head down.

too bad it's a FALSE SURRENDER.

Raki yelped as razor sharp hairs suddenly attacked him, scrambling back as they swiped across his frame, leaving lacerations all over before he fell onto his bum.

The puppy narrowed his eyes angrily, but struggled to stand back up, huffing and puffing. Regardless, he attempted to swing at the other!

He's picked up by Gwyar a moment later, the man craddling the puppy in the crook of his elbow before nodding at Danny, smiling.

"Thank you for the battle. We learned quite a lot from it."

He needed to work on Raki's temper and ego, he had learned.

"I wish you fortune on your future bouts, young man."
