Rocket administrators contacted her and one other person to help move ‘special’ cargo from point a to point b. And it seemed no matter how hard Genesis pressed for them to tell her what it was, they would not tell her. Said its wasn’t for a ‘Grunt’ to know. Pffff. Whatever. If it wasn’t for a grunt to know, they why have her do it? They could have one of their ‘higher ups’ do it. Oh, wait? They can’t. Everyone would recognized them.

The raven haired woman let out a long over exaggerated sigh, bored out of her mind waiting for her rocket partner. Her green orbs flickered from passerby from passerby unsure of who was her helper today, leaning casually against the side of the building in hopes to not draw attention to her. She continued to silently argue with herself, waiting with her pocket full of pokemon.

There was no way she would pass up the opportunity to mess with someone. It was easy enough to identify the one in question as she approached, still mingled with the crowd. Yet, that woman was standing there, all cool-like leaning against the door. She was evidently waiting for someone, so Vio decided to not disappoint her. Just not in the way that the other might have expected.

Violet herself did not look much like a Rocket in her teal dress with white blazer, her Pokeballs all stored within a generously big sky-blue purse on her shoulder. But that was the point here, wasn’t it? To blend in properly of course. However, she would slightly shift course so that instead of passing the other by, her steps would carry her towards this woman. “Excuse me, Miss,” she started, describing a brief bow. “You seem like a local. Could you help me briefly? I am looking for a certain address, but I think I may have gotten myself slightly lost here…”

The dark haired woman leaned back casually against the building, one foot rose planted on the wall while her arms eventually crossed over her chest. Her gaze flickered from one human to the next, wondering when her rocket team mate would show up. And when the woman was able to say ‘fuck it’ and do it herself, a young light haired woman wearing a girly dress addressed her.

“Ahhh-“ was the first words to escape her, one brow rose in suspicion. Although the trainer would admit that her attire didn’t look like she was up to trouble, she didn’t think she looked like a local. Playing along in hopes to not later cause trouble during her mission, Genesis pushed herself off the way and shoulders shrugged casually. “Yeah. Sure.” Her expression shifted to a more friendly output, soft and a fake grin spread across her lips. “What is the address?”

“Ah, wonderful,” she replied, cheer in her voice and clapping her hands once, briefly. Naturally, she meant that both in character and out of it, since at least at face value, her ploy seemed to work rather well. Now she only needed to bring that home.

Which, admittedly, was a bit more different. She had not actually expected the other to either play along or fall for this, so she did not have too much of an actual plan. But playing it by ear was always more fun, anyway. “Clover Street thirteen,” she replied, blatantly lying. In fact, Violet had absolutely no idea if that street even existed in this town. But that was what made it good. Naming their mutual target destination would have been too obvious, and neither was it good to use anything either too easily found or Rocket related. Just some random address was probably nice. But with this – and a very expectant, almost puppy-dog-eyed gaze, she was doing her best to get that person to at least think about it and try.

All for…no real reason. Though one could argue that she was testing the girl’s skill of deception. Yes, that was a good excuse. She would go with that.

There was something off about this woman. Genesis wasn’t no detective, but she could feel it in the jells. “Clover Street?” She query, her expression twisted into confusion, “Uhhhhhh-“ Hand rose to scratch the top of her head, trying to remember of this street. Honestly, she had no idea. She wasn’t too familiar with the streets. “I think- I think its over that way.” Her hand that was scratching pointed in some random direction away from there. “Not sure to be honest.”

One brow rose in skepticism but offered a fake smile, feeling as though she might be messing with her. “I would offer to take you there, but I’m waiting for a friend.” This lady didn’t need to know much more. The rocket grunt could only hope she would leave her alone and go do whatever she needed to do. What she was doing was none of her business? Speaking of that, where the hell is her rocket partner? They were going to be late if they didn’t hurry the hell up.

Yeah, that girl was a terrible actress, she decided. Granted, that was obviously coloured by her already knowing exactly who this person was and that she was not the local she pretended to be. But still, that wasn’t really convincing otherwise, really.

But, well, she was not being paid for that. And neither was Violet. In fact, she was probably wasting their time. But then again, she was just testing how well this person could blend in, which was at least somewhat useful.

In turn, she pretended to believe that, nodding. “Thank you. It isn’t much, but it might help me find my way. And to make up for it, hmm….what does your friend look like? Maybe I ran into them a bit back. There was this one spot where a few people were arguing, maybe they got caught up in that?”

It seemed that this lost woman was going to be stuck on her like glue. Despite Genesis giving the woman what she wanted (kind of), she continued to pester and drill her with more questions she wasn’t prepared for. Crap. The rocket member had no idea what her supposed friend looked like. As far as Genny knew, the pair have never met before. “Oh,” she painfully grinned, trying to come up with an appearance that was very generic but believable, “She’s- about my height. Brown hair. Brown eyes. A little pale.” Think. Think. Think. “Probably wearing a dress of some sorts.”

To keep the story going, she pretended to be concerned about people arguing. “I hope that isn’t her,” she added at the end, a very unconvincing frown of worry on her face, “She isn’t that type to start a fight.” Genesis stood on her tippy toes, peering over this stranger like she could see these people. But despite the ‘concern’, the rocket grunt didn’t move from her spot. She was hoping that maybe this random woman would just go away.

“That sounds quite average,” she replied in a somewhat bubbly and positive. After all, that was probably the most generic person one could come up with. Which, in her opinion, would be a bad thing. The more exotic one got in a situation like this, the easier it was to brush the other off as not having seen them. As was, Violet had an exceedingly easy time using this to her advantage.

One point subtracted from the other’s evaluation. “But I do think it was a brunette. Just a few blocks down!” Immediately, she would reach out for the other’s hand, trying to pull her with. “I will show you. One hand washing the other, you know? Plus, it’s not far at all!” With that, she would at least try to pull this woman away from her waiting spot – just to see how she would react to this. After all, this was her designated meeting spot out of persona, but in persona she really had no reason not to come with.

That, naturally, was the final test for this. Violet would stop with the games after this. Maybe. Probably.

Genesis wasn’t expecting this woman to be so persistent. Her hand was snatched by this woman, a tug pulling her away her the meet up spot with her team rocket partner. At first, she blushed. Why? She wasn’t even sure. “Ummm…” She mumbled mix with chuckle, other hand reached to scratch the back of her neck. Her mind was a blank, nothing came up. She couldn’t think of an excuse not to go. “Thanks.” Genesis grumbled awkwardly, gaze flickered back to the meet up spot as if the person was suddenly going to appear. She wasn’t expecting this. Where was this partner?

With that, Genesis let this woman drag her to were ever she thought this imaginary friend would be. Of course, there was no friend so Genesis had to think of an excuse when they inevitable not find her. Her expression shifted to a mild concern, not wanting to play this stupid game anymore. Why won’t she just go away?

This was almost too easy. No resistance whatsoever. If she truly was just a passerby, she would have accidentally hindered a Rocket operation by now. And if she was an enemy of Rocket, she would have carde blanche to just drag this girl wherever to do whatever to her. That was almost sad, so she sighed slightly as she slowed down just a little. Not enough to give up on the pull altogether, but rather to smoothly transition from just dragging someone somewhere towards to walking while holding hands.

But she did change direction slightly, no longer heading aimlessly for whatever direction, but instead moving towards point B all the same. After all, she had picked up the item beforehand. That was kind of still her job after all, even though she wasn’t just a delivery girl. Though she wondered if the other had picked up on this by now. “Well, at least you were right about the paleness. But, really, brown hair and brown eyes? I would die looking that generic.”

Her mind was at a blank for reasons not to go with her. After all, she was to be inconspicuous in this mission. A soft sigh escaped her, expression of defeat. But before Genesis could finally fight back and tell his woman to get lost, the raven haired woman noticed something strange in the direction the woman was pulling her. Her gaze flickered to this woman, brows scrunched into confusion. It was when the woman spoke, she realized she was the one that was being played.

Her expression grew soar, ripping her hand from the woman grasp. “Really?” She growled, still moving with her but on her own accord instead of being dragged, “Is that what this whole thing is to you? A game?” Her gaze then lifted away, still salty. “Who are you anyway?” Her questions were purposely indirect, seeing if this woman is really that person or someone who is trying to trick her. Genesis wasn’t a known rocket personal outside the organization, but that doesn’t mean someone could suspected her to be one. “Where were you going?”

“I was about to buy some Pumpkin Spice,” she replied, chuckling. Of course she wasn’t really. But it was the most random thing she could think of in that moment. Teasing this woman was kind of fun, especially since she was kind of just taking it, but without actually liking it from the looks of it.

Hence, she gave a bright little chuckle, but otherwise continued on walking. “But to be real for a moment, I was looking for you, since I was a bit early and already picked up the merchandise. Though of course I could not exactly be sure that you are who you are.” A shrug followed her lackadaisical explanation. And it was yet another way to box in that woman. Yes, Vio had simply done this for her own entertainment. But there had also been actual, proper reasons for this kind of seemingly odd behaviour.

“Plus, I had to see if you could be a reasonably good partner for more…delicate endeavours. You know, not giving the game away, even if something very odd happened. Which might happen if a competitor or adversary tries to probe you for what and who you are. Don’t think you really passed, though.”

Genesis didn’t find any of this amusing even the slightest. At this point, she was just annoyed. Though she would admit, it would have been fun to be on the other side of this. Not out loud of course. So instead, the woman was grumpy. Her green orbs glared at the woman bitterly, finding it harder and harder to want to even be around her. She let out a scoff, rolling her eyes and arms crossed over her chest.

“Says you,” she growled darkly at her about her not passing her stupid little made up test, “If I would’ve known it was you for sure, I might have told you to go fuck off.” A sigh escaped her, another roll of her eyes. “But I figured that would be too obvious that I was up to something, so I played your stupid little game.” Honestly, they could be done with this mission if she didn’t goof around like a child. It didn’t matter anyway. This girl already got the stuff so they needed to head out anyway.

With that whole thing done and over with, Genesis attempted to calm herself down and get this thing done. “Look, are we ready then or not?” Her arms fell from their crossed position, one hand on her hip while the other one palm up. “Where is the stuff anyway?” The team rocket grunt eyed her suspiciously, wondering what little game she was playing now. “Do you even have it?”

The other might have tried to conceal her annoyance, but for someone with as much experience in these sorts of things as Violet, it was fairly obvious that the girl was irked. Or maybe that was just what she wanted to see and she projected that onto the other. Then again, that would be indistinguishable from her being right, so she figured that she could just as well go with her preferred interpretation. Not like the other had any say to her thoughts, after all.

“Thus says I, indeed,” she replied, jovially, clearly either not caring about the other’s gruffness, or actively playing against it. Or off of it? She liked being at least a bit enigmatic about these sorts of things, in the end. “I found the game most enjoyable, even if you consider it stupid. Or maybe because of that. These sorts of things sometimes do go hand in hand, don’t they?” Vio just continued walking without much of a care, simply heading towards what ultimately would be their destination. It wasn’t all that much further to begin with.

“As for our readiness, you may think that I was merely messing with you, but I have guided us towards our destination all along. We will arrive soon enough. Or do you wish to have an address for the final stretch that will be of no use to you without your phone?”
