Sometimes, a woman had to make her own entertainment. Especially at night and doubly so when she wanted to entertain her Pokemon, too. Fortunately though, the bright gleam of a Ponyta rider not too far from where she had been resting was an indicator that tonight, the stars would indeed align under the full moon. An unsuspecting victim was always welcome, especially since Violet was not just someone who harassed others or played pranks on them. No, no, that was far too simplistic. Sure, sometimes she still did it anyway. But ultimately she preferred something more elaborate. Ploys that no one else would ever understand, yet gave her immense pleasure.

In short: to mess with someone, while simultaneously engineering the situation so she’d appear guilt free. Having already been near the top of the hill, yet half-hidden from sight by some foliage, she was rather certain to not have been detected. People going up mountains had a tendency to only look ahead, not check the sides or even watch what was diagonally present. That meant she had a window of opportunity. One that she was going to use by unleashing her whole armada at once, in a sense. Dreepy, Pumpkaboo, Poipole and a duo of Spiritombs were often at her beck and call. And the little poison type in the middle really liked to try and live up to the ghastliness of the others. “Go wild,” she quietly told them, pointing at the stranger.

And then, she simply let her Pokemon do their thing. Since she’d not called for attacks, she figured the five of them would not actively assault whoever this was, meaning that she could later come in, recall them and apologize for losing track. The Rattatta on her shoulder got a scratch, idly, while she hid herself away to watch.
It was bound to be a show, for the three floating ghosts prepared to jump the woman directly, once she got to the top, while the Spiritombs got into flanking position.

It was rather daunting in prospect that their greatest surprise came from the shadows rather than the light. Brynn, and not even Bell, had realised they were no longer alone upon this final slope until they'd quite literally jumped out in front of them. The Ponyta pranced backwards, surprisingly nimble despite the rocky terrain while the violet-haired woman actually startled rather badly, enough to lose her footing and smack into the ground with a sharp yelp; she'd end up clinging to a nearby rock to not slide down any further. Even with the full moon out like this she had a hard time identifying the pokémon before her, and only stared at them in shock, like a deer would when looking into the headlights of an oncoming car. Not seeing any kind of trainer present in the vicinity made her suspect the worst, prompting her to quickly jump back onto her feet.

As far as quickly went without making it look like a rather clumsy endeavor. The Galarian Ponyta helped her owner stay upright, but did not seem to share her dread in the slightest, tilting its head curiously towards the threesome of small critters before them. In almost perfect unison the Spiritomb suddenly chimed in when the climber's focus was fully on the three smaller ones. Bell hopped away with a startled neigh, and with it Brynnhildr's balance too disappeared, the woman valiantly trying to stay upright; seemingly much to the delight of the three smaller pokémon before her, who seemed ready to jump her and her partner once more. For real, this time. "No! Don't you even dare-!" Brynn warned them, not quite expecting it to work. But attempts were made.

“Poi.” The little floating Poison Pokemon said, clearly fashioning itself the leader of this little gaggle of Pokemon. Though it was probably better to call them a ‘Haunt’. Yes, that was a fairly decent name for a group of ghosts in Vio’s opinion. As for the woman herself? She would remain hidden, deeply enjoying the show. Especially since she could tell by now that their ‘victim’ was a grown woman who still seemed a bit green behind the ears somehow. Yet, at the same time…well, she was clearly a businesswoman who had been gifted much more in terms of assets, which meant that Vio had no problems at all making her suffer a little more.

Which was also what Poipole had in mind. After all, “Poi” basically meant ‘I dare’ in Pokespeak. At least when it was said with this exact same inflection and volume. However, it then did something that anyone, even a human could understand: it laughed, maliciously, eyes narrowing as it started to nasty plot with a slightly deranged chuckle. In the meantime, one of the Spiritombs used Confuse Ray while the other started a hypnosis – aiming at both trainer and Pokemon in the moment. They knew well enough not to hurt a human, but no one ever said anything about statuses.

Too bad for her, but it seemed like the purple tyke had taken it upon himself to actually dare do it. Not that Brynn realised from his pokéspeech, but the way it suddenly started laughing maliciously while its narrowing its eyes made her all but comfortable. Was she really about to get bullied by a bunch of pokémon? That honestly was a new all-time low, even for her. The only good thing about this was the fact that the Unovan had found her footing again, now turning around to check out the two Spiritomb at each side of her.

Too late however did she react to the Confuse Ray and hypnosis, getting the full burnt from both moves before she could get out of their way. Bell too, still too curious for his own good, got the full burnt from it, and almost immediately started wobbling on its hooves, shaking its head to try and shake it off. Brynn found herself fostering a massive headache, eyes growing blurry as her mind started taking spins, unwilling to focus on anything. This might've been the first time that she truly regretted having passed on battle practice all these years. She knew how to use her pokémon and their skills for practical uses, but actual battle moves or even battle experience was completely foreign to the woman. Maybe if she had diverted some of her attention towards Pokémon battles and invested time in it she might've gotten herself out of this situation right now. But alas, she hadn't, leaving her with little options. "Damn you little shit-" she growled softly.

Little? That just made Poipole laugh even harder. The big human really thought it had anything to say, even though they’d clearly had lost already. Sure, the Haunt had the advantage in numbers, but they weren’t even using it at all. Only the Spiritombs were doing anything and both the opposing trainer and Pokemon were already losing it.

Pathetic. Another laugh followed. Then it blasted a nasty plot powered Venoshoc right at the Ponyta, because why not? They weren’t supposed to use their (damaging) moves on humans, but the Pokemon certainly were fair game. Hence, it simply unloaded on the poor confused thing, like the little extradimensional pocket monster it was.

In the meantime, the Dreepy and Pumpkaboo, chuckling to themselves as well, darted towards the woman, as if to hit her in the head, only to deviate from that course at the last second. However, that didn’t mean that they were done with her, no no. Instead, the two of them, still laughing hauntingly, started to circle the human, slightly apart from one another, but one went clockwise, the other counter-clockwise. They might not have known confuse ray themselves, but they were certainly working hard in order to get this stranger dizzy, that much was for sure.

A shrill neigh echoed through the pass as the Ponyta got hit by the empowered venoshock, slamming the small equine into the floor. Much to her dismay the Unovan had to watch as her childhood partner got the brunt of most damaging attacks, as if they weren't willing to turn their attacks on her. Brynn tried to get up to help Bell, even wanting to shield him from any incoming moves when her path -and sight- was cut off by the Dreepy and Pumpkaboo propelling themselves at her face, only to deviate their course and miss her by a hair's width.

It made things all the more hard for the Unovan, who was now desperately trying to focus her vision and stability to get to her little friend. Bell by itself had gotten back up and steadied itself, legs outstretched and sturdy as it bristled and snorted, annoyed and borderline angered that it was being beaten this easily while his trainer was having such a hard time. It wanted to fight back this time around. Bell glared at the Poipole, letting out another neigh as its horn started to glow, sending a small blast of telekinetic force at it as it used Confusion. It almost immediately followed up with a tackle, making the small equine tackle through its own attack in its confusion.

Brynn's consistent harassment had in the meantime brought her to her knees, the dizziness and cheer headache having won out on her balance. All she could do was curse softly as she tried to keep her fading eye-sight from losing focus on her little friend. No matter what the stars had aligned for, it was far from positive for the both of them.

So that horse had some fight in it. Poipole all but allowed itself to be hit, wincing lightly but just taking the challenge as presented. The useless human was going down, certainly. But the horse was still fun to play with. Poipole met its eyes with a glint in their own, clearly appreciating the attack – because that allowed it to make a show and further assert its dominance. As the tackle came in, Poipole dodged to the side. And even though it was completely unnecessary, it then used its stubby arms to swing around the Ponyta’s neck and get on its back.

Certainly, for one who could float, it was pointless to ride an enemy Pokemon. But by sending out smaller Venoshocks it nonetheless tried to drive that mon forward until it ran out of steam, trying to win that way while laughing maniacally.

It didn't take long before the ground had closed in on her, nausea and dizziness overtaking the Unovan at such a pace that she could feel her consciousness slipping ever so rapidly. "Bell…" she tried, her voice but a whisper before her vision darkened completely.

The Galarian Ponyta didn't even have the time to realise his trainer had passed out, the Poipole it had declared its enemy having decided to mount its back and ride along with it as it tried to throw the poison-type off. A rather brave horse-riding scene, Bell unwilling to submit to the Poipole. Yet the small venoshocks it kept blasting into its back to spur the Ponyta on eventually took their toll on him. Bell had stopped moving, its tiny legs shaking in complete effort to remain standing. It took another few moments before the equine too collapsed, exhausted and unable to fight or ride on; its consciousness too swallowed by the darkness as well.
