Bryan had finally been cleared to go home, it had been a day or two since he came back to the apartment. He was finally cleared by the rocket scientists to go home, back to priam conrad. Bryan and him also had a bit to talk about, he had noticed during the soiree that Priam had reacted weirdly to something and then acted like it didn't happen. [break][break]

Did he not understand what he meant? The thought had been consuming him those entire days. How would Priam react to all of this? Well, there was only one way to find out honestly. He opened the door and walked in "Priam? I'm home." he said outloud wondering if he was in the living room.

hoenn news blared from the television when bryan announces his return to the apartment. the voice was distinct enough that priam can pick it out form the noise of the television.

"bryan?"

priam turns from the couch to the door where he sees bryan. the espeon that had been laying on his lap was quickly tossed in the air in joy as priam drops from a sitting position to his back on the seat. "bryan d. is back!" he yells as he catches his espeon.

as he composes himself, he drops the espeon back to the floor, wherein it curls itself to a more comfortable position, before he goes back to sitting with his front facing the newly experimented rocket.

"honestly thought you went mia like everyone else, y'know?" he tells him in a humoring manner. "can't even leave a text message? i was about to be worried about you, just so you know!"

too many names had already been gone, though adding another one to the list still never felt easier for priam.

A small grin spreads across his face, from cheek to cheek. He was glad he had someone to come home to, it felt different now, it felt good. [break][break]

"I made a promise didn't I? I keep my promises." he tells him as the grin turned into a happy smile as he goes over to embrace Priam and gives him a kiss on his cheek since he couldn't reach the taller man's head. "Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Things happened and I couldn't text you, I've been in the sub for the last few days as they studied me." he explains as he starts to rapidly blink from the irritation. "Damn, stupid fuckin contact." he say poking a the contact lens a bit and he decides to just take it out. [break][break]

Priam would see that Bryan's eye was different, his right eye was green now instead of it's usual red.

since when did bryan become a subject of interest? priam seldom saw him at the rocket labs, if at all. it all comes to a surprise for him that he drops everything to focus on bryan, noticing his eye color in the process.

there was shock, but priam didn't seem shaken up. he's seen worse after all.

"oh no, what did you do...?" at this point, priam seems more curious than ever. "bryan? what contract? this isn't blackwell rocket anymore that you can't just say no to those, y'know?"

he's glad for that since he couldn't before.

"they got me drinking weird things before for cash too! did you do one of those things? you should just ask me for money if you don't have 'em! i'll let ya borrow some!"

priorities were all over the place with how confused priam is to handle this situation. he's not used to being on the other end of this interaction.

"Greatness is measured in sacrifice." he says knowing most likely priam would be thrown off by Bryan even speaking like that. He heard it from some rocket playing a video game but it fit. He did laugh though when priam misheard him " I said contact, you dork. My eye changed color, im wearing contacts so people who don't know im part of you know what don't freak out." he told him, damn thing was kind of irritating though as he wasnt used to having to wear contacts.[break][break]

He saw priam shift from worry to super curious. "I wasn't forced, don't worry. I signed up for this with Chu-e Choi , he's trying to help me out with something I want. I'm fine." he said putting his contact in it's case as he tried to assure him that Bryan would be ok. [break][break]

"Don't worry, I'll always come back to you. I'm too greedy to let you go." he said planting a kiss on Priam's lips and smiling at him. "I did miss you though, it was too quiet in the infirmary." He let go of priam and moved towards the kitchen "Are you hungry? We could talk more over some food if you are." he said looking in the kitchen to see what he could find. They're probably gonna end up ordering something.

maybe he was starting to get paranoid. it was easier when it was him being worried about instead of the other way around. consciously, he makes a note that he probably should get it out of his system before it becomes a liability.

"i'm always down for more food," he tells bryan despite already having eaten. "you can check the fridge if anything you want's there. don't finish it all though."

on bryan's absence, priam has filled it with food he's more aligned to, namely sweets such as cake slices he stole from league's head scientist research lab's break room.

"you sure you can get your end of that bargain though?" priam asks bryan. "what ridiculous thing did you ask for that either of us can't possibly get?"

He opened the fridge and grinned, of course he filled it up with sweets while Bryan was gone. Well, it was fitting as he wanted to celebrate the success. He had been asked what exactly it was that he signed up for that they couldn't do together? [break][break]

He turned around and handed him one of the slices of cake for priam. "Well I at least took the first steps towards getting it." he said handing him the slice of cake. "But are you SUREEE you wanna know? It's a super top secret secret" he said teasing Priam making sure if he REALLLY wanted to know. [break][break]

Regardless of what Priam said bryan was going to move over towards the light switch and flick the lights off, letting the darkness of the room encapsulate them both. Bryan would then lift up a finger as it slowly began to glow and illuminated the room slightly. "We used my share of the blue mulch from the excursion expeditions for an experiment." he told him [break][break]

"Blue mulch, the same serum they used on chu-e that was completed and some infinity energy and Balder Schwartz 's blood anddd tada...glowy fingers." he says as the rest of his fingers light up in comparison. " I managed to make a ton of light when it happened but right now this is all I can manage for some reason."

he nods excitedly, taking the bait. the explanation was much more understandable than the ones he hears from labs from both factions, so he was able to follow at least.

"this is beyond cool!"

he leans forward, studying the finger with awe. he pokes it with his own, trying to figure out how it works, but nothing definite and obvious gets revealed from just touching it.

"this is gonna save us from our electricity bill! or, or... you can finally go join me in exploring caves and shit like that! and-"

priam stops.

"that's a lot of things you got from rocket though. is there a catch? a-and, are you still gonna be able to return to normal after this?"

his thoughts all lead back to the old rocket mentality. he fears bryan's involvement was going to pull him deeper into the organization, slowly diminishing his chances of getting back to a normal life once his need for the organization was over.

He raised an eyebrow and chuckled at Priam poking his finger. "I don't know if I can really keep it up that long to really keep it up the entire night." he tells priam as he scratches the back of his head and eats a slice of the cake with his glowing hand pinching off a piece. [break][break]

Priam expressed some concerns to Bryan, he was confused, return to normal? There...there was no normal, this WAS his normal. "What do you mean normal?" he asked curiously wondering what Priam meant. He sat down, placing the plates methodically side by side his side with the piece missing in front of him and the untouched one besides it. "This is my normal, before rocket I was a depressed angry teen with nothing. Now im an angry adult with the world's cutest boyfriend, a nice home, and I'm a personal flash light." he says nonchalantly giving Priam a little wink. "How come you're so worried love?" he says putting a hand on the couch and inviting him to sit with him. [break][break]

This was very out of character for Bryan but he was willing to try to be more caring for him, he deserved it.

the crook on his smile was as awkward as it can ever be as he tries to explain.

"y-you know, like...!"

he asks himself if he knows what it was, and realizing that he has no concept of it, runs out of words. with no other reference, he realizes that what he considers normal might just be an idealized version of it taken from stories and shows.

normal was relative anyways.

"y-yeah. you're right. this is normal!"

it's only then that he disregards the previous topic, shoving it back at the recesses of his mind, to be forgotten until something triggers it back to the surface again. problems only slow things down anyways. priam stops, and then explodes again

"wait, did we even settle on that label?! when? what?"

He stares at priam, confused as to what he thought he meant at the soiree. "Wait but-" he said as his face started to turn a slight pink at his embarrassment. [break][break]

"At the- The soir-" he said realizing how things got lost in translation and he wanted to avoid talking about that nightmare. "Priam when I said I wanted to make you mine..I.. I mean-" he said fumbling on his words, he never had a real boyfriend before, he didn't know how it'd work. Of course the ego centric rocket realized what went wrong "I- I may have used the wrong wording at that...event.." he says as Priam only ever saw his face this red during the sauna they first had their rendezvous [break][break]

"Priam-I-" he says looking like an idiot the entire time like a fish out of water, a rare sight. "Do..Do you.." he says trying to spit out the words but getting lost.

priam remains frozen.

words in his head are able to fill in the blanks, but the subconscious prevents him from reaching a conclusion. ideologies mix up with reality as bryan fumbling his words gives enough time for priam to convince himself of anything but the obvious.

eventually, he comes back to reality. priam smiles after being shocked as he comes to a conclusion that fits the narrative of his broken ideals.

"wait!"

without wasting a moment, priam's arms move to his waist, fingers hooking the shirt from underneath and taking it out in one swift motion. he holds the shirt on one hand afterwards, twirling it around on his side.

shameless and shirtless, his lips move to a smirk as he raises a brow, as if challenging the other. he attempts to remain carefree, disillusioned with values he finds hard to shake off from staying at rocket for long.

"just tell me you miss me this much. can't say no to this, ya kno?"

Bryan stared at Priam, surprised by the sudden initiation of nappy time. His face is still super red but a smug grin spreads across his lips.[break][break]

Bryan couldn't resist his vices though and simply nodded his head to Priam as his words were failing he'd let his actions speak and he gestured for Priam to come over to him. Bryan was still flustered by the previous situation and wondered if this meant yes. He couldn't be sure anymore because of the previous confusion. "Does..does this mean yes?" he asked

tilting his head, he asks bryan to clarify.

"yes to what?"

he pauses, having moved on from the original implications bryan might have and to a vaguer one he has replaced in his head. instead, he gives a chuckle as he settles back. the shirt is crumpled to a ball, being too brutish to simply fold it neatly.

"i'm a yes man. i always say yes! well, unless it's something bad, then probably i'd be forced to say no, but that's, like, the extreme cases."

turning towards the door of his room, he shoots his balled up shirt towards it. it lands just outside the door and into the floors, wherein priam curses under his breath. "shit." he stands up, walks towards it, and picks it back up.

"you coming?"
