Poor paxton concordas .
It hasn't been long since Soleil joined Lilycove department's payroll, and since then, she's already been slugged over to Slateport more than a handful of times.

"We need some extra hands tonight," They'd say. It was a bunch of shit, she thought, but there was no weaseling out of it.

Sighing, she leaned back into the beat car's passenger seat, eyes peering down through the front window. Stake outs were the worst, especially when you're working with a total stranger.

"They should be coming out soon." Her voice was stern, tight. Reinforced by a false sense of confidence.

"No thanks."

She turned her head towards her window, waited a second, then turned back.

"I'll take one, actually."

Quick and deadly, her index and thumb sniped up a red gummy from the bag and immediately plopped it into her mouth.

She begrudgingly accepted the handful of orange bears.

Plopping them into her mouth, she gave them a few chews before swallowing.

They tasted good...

"It's alright," she shrugged, her gaze returning to the dull window beside her. Part of her wanted another try, but another barked at her to remain still -- why? She didn't know. It was like her natural reaction was to act prickly whenever possible.

uri is especially good at breaking through to people, he's found. whether it be in an interrogation, in a conversation, or even on a stakeout like this, his jolly (dumb) personality usually wins.[break][break]

If Uriah was a sunflower, then Soleil was a prickly Venus fly trap. Angry, violent, and closed off -- the woman was far from the most popular officer in her department.
Catching the fumbling bag in one hand, the woman growled as a few bears had escaped onto her lap.

"I prefer Lilycove," She answered, curt and rude. Leaning back into her chair, arms crossed, her eyes surveyed their surroundings. "But they keep forcing me out here, so I dunno, ask me again in a week. Maybe I'll have something good to say then."

"Doubtful," She rolled her eyes.

These types were the hardest to deal with. Not only were they stubborn with their optimism, but they always reminded Soleil of the worst person she'd ever met: her old self.

Back before rocket, and back before everything became so dark and frightening.

Back when there was hope to be found.

that's not entirely true. they have local events and festivals often along with a small mall, but it's certainly nothing to write home about, especially with lilycove so close by.[break][break]

His answer came with a sigh of relief. For the most part, mentions of her time served in Kanto were fine, but when details became explicit, well, it became harder to stomach the memories that followed.

"Yeah. I was stationed back over in Kanto."

She hadn't felt the need to explain when, or what she did -- her grim expression would surely be enough.

Normally, she'd say no. But, for some reason, his sunflower persona had won her over just enough.

"Sure," She shrugged.

There was little doubt in her mind that this 'tour' wouldn't change much of her opinion, however, drinks were drinks. You could never go wrong with those.
