Kyrenai sauntered into Mauville City's park with Mythras following her like a shadow, nearly glued to her leg. The growlithe had never been savvy about crowded places or strangers, which the Black figured was due to the way it had been treated in the past. She counted herself lucky the park was fairly deserted, which made her reason for coming here-- or rather, her target, a lot easier to pinpoint.

The flyer had been brief but to the point, and the fact it mentioned poached growlithe pups had been a trigger to her interest. Mythras was in fact that; one of many a pokémon saved from a poaching organisation, whom Kyrenai had taken under her wing to help rehabilitate. Although she'd let the other pokémon be handled by professionals, she'd taken the young growlithe pup as her own, and slowly but steadily taught it to trust again, even if it was only herself it would trust. Mimi still acted jumpy around others, even though it had been quite some time since then. But it had been obvious that the poor thing had been taken from its mother far too early by the poachers.

So when a flyer appears with too coincidental a prompt to meet up...? Well, even she becomes curious about it. If it's a hit then a family reunion would just be the cherry on top, but if it were a miss, she hoped it might help process her partner's trauma a bit more by being with pokémon of its own species that had gone through similar ordeals.

It wasn't long till she came across a young man and his arcanine, and she called out to them to get their attention. "Excuse me, might you be the one who put those flyers up all around town?"

Bingo.

So he was the one she was looking for. Not that she was expecting to come across many people out and about with their mama Arcanines today, but still. "Rather than information, I actually have a rescuee with me right here." she smiled gently at both him and Nana, then motioned at the Growlithe peeking out behind her leg. Although it seemed hesistant at the unfamiliar face, it was sniffing the air rather vigorously, as if it was trying to recognise a scent it hadn't come across in ages, while eyeing Nana expectantly.

Kyrenai knelt down to pet Mythras in an act of comfort, but she felt how tensed the small canine was. "Mimi is a rescue from a group of poachers I came across at the border with Kanto, actually. Helped arrest them, before you get the wrong idea," she added quickly, knowing things might pan out differently if misunderstandings were made. "According to the police they were being chased for quite some time, so I can only imagine what he had to go through to during that time." She continued, whispering sweet nothingness into Mimi's ear to get it to relax a bit more.

"I felt that your flyer was too much of a coincidence to pass up on, so here we are." she gave the man a slightly sheepish smile. "Would it be okay for him to get closer to Nana?"

"No ranger alas, but they made the mistake of messing with the Black family, so I felt compelled to educate them otherwise." Kyrenai smiled innocently, as if it were the most casual thing in the world. She didn't think much of it, and instead focused back on Nana, who had now lowered herself and was all but army-crawling forward. Mimi had copied her stance, inching forward before looking up at his trainer for permission. The redhead nodded softly, whispering her go-ahead, and waited for the pup to take its leave before getting up again.

As it got closer its tail started wagging more furiously, as if any doubt it had had got expelled the closer it got to the Arcanine. When there was but a few arm-lengths worth of distance between them Mimi started whining as well, violently sniffing Nana the moment he reached her, paws tippatapping on the ground in pure joy before he rolled over and exposed his belly to his lost mother.

"I think we can be quite sure of their relation now, that, or your Arcanine is a very doting sweetheart." she smiled, her expression having grown soft at the sight of her growlithe reunited with his mother. Although the chances had always been slim to none of finding anyone of Mythras' litter, let alone his mother, fate seemed to have a different idea on how things would turn out. Yet the ties she'd forge today would become precious ones, one day.



So when Nana nodded at her, as if she'd concluded this was in fact her child and that she'd taken good care of it, Kyrenai couldn't help but chuckle. Especially when Mimi started thrashing when his mother started to groom him, making sure the pup couldn't escape the wrath of her cleaning tongue. Which did result in a few comical flabs of hair standing upright. Mythras seemed to have given up its fight for freedom and now looked at Matt as if it was telling him to save him from this embarrassment. And that only amused the assassin more.



"Ah yes, perhaps introductions are in order as well! The name's Kyrenai Black, and that one over there's Mythras, or Mimi, if you please. It's nice to meet you and your lovely Arcanine."
