"putting the finishing touches on this report." she replies matter-of-factly but still offers a brief smile. [break][break] "c'mon, the case was a success. come celebrate with us." he whined while another coworker popped her head up, "yeah! it's no fun without you." she snickered, "besides, who else would keep john in check?"[break][break] "oi, what does that mean?" the man in question huffed as he glared at the woman. [break][break] "you know how you get when you get drunk." the woman defiantly stood her ground as she crossed her arms. "it's also poker night~" she added as her gaze landed on her boss.[break][break] "tempting..." she responded before the buzzing of her pager silenced her thoughts. "...but i'll have to pass this time." both of her coworkers whined and pouted but she just waved a hand to silence them. [break][break] "she must have a date," the voice of her second in command spoke up. [break][break] "jealous?" the woman behind the computer responded. a few more taps on her keyboard and clicks from her mouse later and she rises from her seat with her things. "don't worry, no one can take your place dear." the woman teased as she gently pat his face. "behave yourselves at the casino." she called out to her coworkers before heading out of the station. [break][break] once she was safely in her car she put a bluetooth piece in her ear and answered the call. "there's an assignment for you nemesis." a dull voice rang out in her ear. "an encrypted file has been sent to your phone with the mission debriefings. keep this channel open for the duration of the assignment."[break][break] there was a slight pause before the voice continued. "happy hunting." the woman's lips curled into a wicked smile as the engine of her car roared to life. what a thrilling date night this would be.
