It was close to two years since I have joined hands with the researchers of the League. Some, simple buffoons harboring an empty title and trying to amass the awards and the other, cowards unwilling to pursue their ideals and researches no matter the cost. Due to these clashing ideologies, we were losing funds rapidly over any trifles that the leaders could think of, and that was starting to hinder my own research on pokemon genetics...[break][break]

Slateport had been conquered by Team Rocket, and now it was a haven for illegal activities... Which made it the perfect location to acquire the funds and material that I require. But where to start? There were so many illegal actions going on, it was hard to determine where to start. I better start looking instead of writing everything down.[break][break]

Tsubasa closed the book he was writing his observations of the day and proceeded to store it in his coat. He then moved his scarf to cover his face better as well as readjust the glasses over his eyes. He had heard of something akin to a casino, but he had yet to see anything of the sort as he walked through the city. Maybe a "kind" rocket member would be able to come out and guide him where he needed to go so he can start rolling in the money?

The hardest part of her day was keeping up with appearances, despite the nice little country side abode she had managed to buy and restore the little pinkette had made acquaintances with some very high people and that had ruined any chance of her getting out without being noticed. Natsuki had decided to spend her weekends washing away the stress of the week by staying at her new homestead while spending the weeks cramped up in some small apartment in this downcast city that used to be slate port. To make money while staying she had struck a deal with one of the casino owner’s in town, if she could bring in rich looking people regardless of there status he would split the profit they made off them. It was easy money when she thought about, bringing in someone who wanted to gamble there life away and leave taking half of it without having to actually get her hands dirty. Or well that was how she rationalized the ordeal in her head anyway, Natsuki never lead anyone here who didn’t already want to try to win it big. It was her only way of pretending like she wasn’t stooping to there level after all.

Perched upon what used to be a decorative wall separating the housing from the park, it was a great place to people watch and to spot out new players for the casino games. It was also a very relaxing spot in a town full of danger and to close for call encounters with nasty people. Natsuki would sit upon the wall for hours sometimes watching as the right sort of person walked into her view. She had become very good at telling the signs for people who just seemed to want to risk it all. Her current allotted time was two hours and thirty six minutes since she had come down to the park area, there were less people then usual for today but well some days just seemed to draw less appeal to people. She had spotted him my pure chance, his movements were some what held back as if he was trying to not stand out even thought he already did. Out of the number of people she had saw come through he was definitely something new and by the way he walked he was man looking for something. Hoping down from her position Natsuki casually made her way over to his direction, following for a bit to gauge his reaction. Would he notice her or ?

A bunch of options were available to the scientist. Poker, pokemon racing gambling and the likes were available to play with, to acquire new funds. But Tsubasa had something else in mind. With the slot machines, there were ways to rig the rolls, to acquire the biggest amount possible without suffering much loss. He simply needed to find the best location for such activities.[break][break]

That was, until he felt someone following him. Team Rocket? Or maybe a resident of this fallen city? No matter who it was, the problem was still the same in the end: Someone had set their eyes on him. What could've betrayed him? The fact he wrote in a journal perhaps? Or the way he moved upon the streets? Still, he needed to evade his follower someone...[break]

Thus, Tsubasa began to quicken his pace, slicing through the crowds as if he was a small but fine knife. And then, suddenly, he turned into an alley, pulling out a pokeball and making his Zorua appear. "Zeta, with thy Illusions skills, I seek thee to make us undetectable to the human eyes." The Zorua nodded before spreading his powers around them. As the two placed themselves the alley's wall, their silhouette was soon replaced by the appearance of a garbage container.[break][break]

As the lady got to the alley, if she dared enter it, she would notice that her "prey" had vanished from existence. How could he have disappeared so quickly? But then, suddenly a voice would rise up from the void, resonating in the alley. "This espionage is not an activity for a proper young lady. Mayhap you could light my lantern and declare why you followed me so?"[break]

Cue the chase

not that would lead to much excitement in the long run, just a waste of time looking to lose his money and entertain a pretty girl. That was the thought Natsuki had been entertaining while walking off after her current target, most of them were all the same after all. The pretty girl would walk up to them, flirt a little and use her charm while whisking them off to steal every last time they carried. Like one of those romance novels except the happy ending was getting a cut of the money from the pawn of a prince. The prince in question was starting to quicken his pace causing Natsuki to lose him momentarily, she had thought him to have tapered off into a nearby alley but as she approached the opening it seemed she had been mistaken. There was no way she had lost him that easily and with a quick glance around she stepped forward into the alley sure of herself that he was somewhere on the other end. No sooner had she step a few feet in a voice seemed to speak from the nothingness that surrounded her, accusing her of being unladylike like as well as … just what exactly did he think she was trying to offer him!

“if I’m lighting lanterns that’s gonna be an extra fee, in some astronomical number no one could afford” she scoffed crossing her arms over her chest, now that the issue had been settled about his lantern she wanted to direct his attention to the part where he would spend gobs of money on something else and not trying to get her to … whatever it was. “ I was hoping to offer you some fun… other fun like a little gamble perhaps ?"
