"Think of it as a practical approach to national security— for better or worse." He said simply as he swung his arm, spreading out his scales to the rockets spread out on the floor.

He weakened the dosage as much as he could— he wasn't trying to get them back up on their feet, after all.

"All states require a monopoly on violence in order to maintain power and their definition of stability. Gods on Earth freely granting power to whoever they fancy most are an inherent threat to said 'stability'." He explained bluntly. "On a nation at war with an entity like Rocket, this danger is... well, it sure as hell don't get any better."

Man, he was really rambling now. Did Kaz even care about this kind of political theory? He sorta doubted it. Even if one understood the theory, it didn't really make things better from any moralistic point of view.

Kazimir's line of questioning— now that was an interesting topic.

Spinning on his heel, Doug approached the larger man, standing on his tip toes as he reached for his face, attempting to pry his eye lid slightly open.

"Oooh! So you're a dreamer, then?" He said, grinning while failing to explain his own terminology. "I assure you, my friend, it happened, and it was very real."

He paused, before shrugging and smiling sheepishly.

"Though I suppose, one could argue that an experience that is entirely metaphysical and has no seeming effect on the body is not too far off from a dream."

He stepped away from Kaz, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

"But nah— it happened. Ask 'round; plenty of folk where there. I'm sure you'll find plenty of people just like you... Or like me!" He winked at the man. "The degrees to which folk remember vary, unfortunately. Not everyone has a memory as pristine as mine."

"Ok you had me, then you lost me, and then you had me again kinda." He understood the gist of it at least in some fashion. Control the fighting control the peace. Things like Legendaries threw a wrench in that.

"Maybe that's why we need more guys like you Duggie." There was an abundance of fighters ready to throw down on both sides. What they needed were people like Doug ready to patch up the people and their homes during and after the fight. Otherwise the whole world would be nothing but one big mass grave as morbid as that was.

To move onto a more positive note, well as positive as learning a whole twenty years of life was just gone like that, the truth about these dreams came to light. Leading a bunch of knights against all kinds of threats, having a bunch of kids, he wasn't even sure if he missed it or not. Maybe it was just the shock of the reveal being too great to just let his mind even entertain processing all that.

"Man...even in another life the gods just keep ruining everything huh? Wonder if those heroes from Galar will help us out if we asked, or even find them. 'Cause if not..." He turns back to the pile of Rockets they had gathered together, "Guess its stuck with us for heroes huh? And boy do we got our work cut out for us."

"Aw, I ain't even that smart. Want me to rec ya a couple books?" He offered, eyes glinting with a subdued madness. "I know just the right philosopher for a hero of the people."

Briefly and for no particular reason, he wondered if FERNANDO SILPH's distaste for the vigilante would grow even more if he became an avowed socialist.

At Kazimir's next words however, Doug could only offer an unworried grin and a shrug of the shoulders, his gaze wandering over to his hand as it glowed.

"... Yeah." He said, letting his hand fall to his thigh, patting off some dust as he rose up from his crouch. "No point in wonderin' if they'll help or not. In my experience, they choose the folk who are strong enough to not need their help anyway."

He hummed.

"So just keep getting stronger, Pokkenger. Makes it more likely that they'll help us."

"Mmmm, sure why not. Send them my way." What's the worse that could happen if he gets a bit more enlightened right?

Upon the mention of getting strong and Legendaries offering help to people who don't need it Kaz returned the smile before it broke into chuckling. "That's true I guess. Our top champ has like, what four or five of them under his belt?" kyle lopez was what some might call a walking time bomb if he ever decided to get serious to bust out all the stops with them. That'll be the day. Though it does give him an idea.

"Oh don't worry 'bout me getting strong. In fact I think the perfect way to do that is...to become champ!" He stands up tall, pointing to the sky, "And not just champion! But Top Champion! By then I'll be plenty strong that I won't even need an Legendary to even help me. Hell I'll probably be on equal terms with them, or something like that." His grin back at Doug is nothing short of playful, yet the cocky confidence still gleams through.

He snickered as Kyle was brought up, shrugging his shoulders.

"Exhibit A indeed." He said with a nod and a laugh. "But hey, we ain't too shabby ourselves! We've got some odd ball picks, don't we?"

Avatarships were elusive, but 'legendary' and 'mythical' pokemon? They had enough of those to make one wonder if they truly were as rare as the tales made them out to be.

Speaking of rare and elusive things, however...

"Not." He said with a snort, cocking his head at the other man. "What's this? Ya getting in touch with your inner child or something?"

He scratched at his cheek. Becoming the champion... Right, he had wanted to do that too, 20 years ago. Since a long time before that, actually. So... Juvenile.

Badumpt.

Why had accomplishing it been so important to him again...?

He frowned deeper, crossing his arms over his chest.

"... Well, it's not a bad goal either." He said after a moment, shaking his head before smiling at Kazimir. "We didn't rely on legendary pokemon before. Why start now?"

His smile turned to a grin.

"Sounds fun, Pokkenger! Mind if I join you on that particular road?" He said, rolling his neck and shoulders. "With all this AQUA nonsense, I fear I might've gotten rusty on actual, proper battling."

He just returns the accusation with a smile and a chuckle. Was it childish? Probably. Most trainers aim for the top when they're just starting out or still in their younger years before adulthood. Some call it a rite of passage and Kaz might be inclined to agree. Still it was a challenge open to anyone willing to test themselves against the best of the best of a region. That was the kind of challenge that tug all the right strings in his heart.

"Aw c'mon. Just cause I ain't a kid anymore doesn't mean I don't wanna at least try to climb up there y'know. Otherwise I do end up a little rusty like you." His smile shrinks into a smirk as he give the doc a slap on the back. "Just call me up whenever you feel like you wanna do some proper exercise Duggie. Y'know these muscles don't grow on their own."

His attention does return to the Rockets laying at their feet and the mountain of muscle lets out a sigh, "First we outta get these guys to a proper hospital...or police station. Which ever order is faster."
