she's still without a sygna suit. and she will be, for some time yet. but that's the thing about time - everything good comes to those who wait. so she is trying to be patient, but the ultra deep sea's ever-present dream mist still tries to burrow into her skin.

she has their tools on her back, a sheen of sweat over her brow. this isn't her first expedition of the day. at least this time, she's stayed the recommended amount of time outside of the rift.

"we can handle it together, if you want," she says with a grimace and raises her hands.

(Even though he’d already said he would cover the cost for the other man’s stuff, Memo vehemently said no, so he wasn’t going to push the issue any further.)

“It’s better we do,” he said, grimacing in equal measure as he sent out—this time—just his Kleavor and Garchomp. His Lycanroc was taking a rest today, however these two weren’t (and looked ready to go digging even further.)

she holds out her hands and that wave of energy ripples over her. she thinks, distantly, if she should be worried that it doesn't wrack her like it used to. pain habituation, her mind whispers sweetly, John Sullivan's words a distorted seethe in her ear. she frowns.

the organ pulses above them, skeletal body otherwise unmoving. waiting for them to take their treasures from its side.

outside, in the thickening fog, otherworldly creatures stir. freya keeps her head down and dislodges what ore she can.

"we'll need to do this quickly. it's not long before they start to realize we're here."

The Kleavor and Garchomp are already at it, dig, dig, digging through the crystals and rock; dislodging what precious ore they can find and bring back.

It doesn’t take long for the ‘walls’ of their chamber to start shimmering strangely; the seeming ‘portal to the universe’ collecting behind the glittering rock. Boy, this place would be a trip if someone came down here and had edibles before—

“I don’t want to die down here,” he muttered quietly as even he set to work; never mind if the Kleavor and Garchomp were already hacking away at a particularly large piece of ore and trying to make it more manageable to haul back.

"oh, have some faith. you think i'd let us die?" she says as she wipes sweat from her brow. she sets her tools to the side and reaches for her belt. the snarls and hisses come closer and freya tosses a few pokeballs away from her side.

two of her roaring moon, one with glittering seafoam scales and the other in more likeness to her salamence, stand to fend off the attackers. they converge, a horrifying amalgamation of creatures made wrong, and lathliss and kirimu rip them apart without mercy.

“Knowing you, I’m sure you wouldn’t,” he continued with this knowing smirk on her face.

He caught sight of the two she’d sent forward… they looked similar to Salamence, but not quite so—he couldn’t help but wonder why they bared a resemblance to the Pokémon that she favored so much.

“They remind me of my… I have something that looks like a Hydreigon but not quite so. It looks more like a robotic version of a Hydreigon more than anything,” he hummed quietly as he returned back to his own digging.

It didn’t take too long for the sounds of battle to reach him, though.

He then realized that maybe putting off getting a Synga Suit was maybe going to be a bad idea in the long run, considering how he’d made a promise to a certain someone that they were going to get theirs together and everything.

He idly thought about the potential of infinity energy potentially trapped in these minerals they were mining…

“Shit,” was all he would say next as he then dropped a Moon Ball and summoned his own Salamence, who immediately joined the fray to attack…

Oh, come on!

He realized that the familiar ‘face’ was back…

“You again?!” he exclaimed with a sigh as the three-headed Salamence abomination appeared, two of its heads gnashing their fangs while the third lolled alongside uselessly.

the last of the fusion pokemon left standing is an ugly one. alexei's salamence is brought forth and together kirimu, lathliss, and now gabriel beat back the abomination conjured by the dream mist. poor thing. life short and fearful, burned alive by the fury of three dragons.

"an iron jugulis," she grunts. she'd asked Eva Morales about them some time ago, but had lost interest upon realizing that its futuristic shape was just in likeness to the dragon-type - it did not contain a draconic spirit.

"come on," she urges. the mist thickens and she reaches for her pack. some of the valuables spill out of them and she swears, but she leaves them behind.

they'll be back all too soon.
