“If at least we can confirm that nothing else is going to come by here, who knows what the rest of the higher-ups are going to do with the intel that we can bring back to use against Team Rocket.”

Once he’d sketched as much of the path he could remember traversing, he then flipped the flashlight of his phone off, before pocketing it once more.

“Unless you have a different idea, then that would be what I had in mind.”

Behind him, the Lucario stands watch in case they get jumped.

A route hidden from the prying eyes of Rocket, for which he can assume will be used either to transport supplies or launch ambushes with. Or something to that effect. He isn't so much a strategist as he is a doer.[break][break]

As if to emphasise his point, Na'au yips and gently taps a ribbon against her chest. Despite her cowardly nature, she will still do her very best! Especially with another pokemon here to help lead the way.

He grit his teeth at the mention of ‘ghost’, but gave it no mind—all things considered. Besides, wasn’t two pairs of eyes better than one?

“Alright, let’s go in the opposite direction where you came from,” he gestured as he squinted into the pervading gloom. Much as he wanted to bust out the proverbial flash light, he decided against it; before letting the Lucario lead the way.

The trek would be quiet as he mentally committed the place to memory; however it wouldn’t take too long before something—rather, several somethings would make their presence known—

In the manner of extremely feral, primal roaring.

“Oh, come on, are you kidding me,” he groaned as he pinched the bridge of his nose and asked the Lucario to throw an Aura Sphere into the darkness, only to reveal…

That they’d stumbled upon a den of hungry, snarling Salamence-adjacent beasts. Some of them even looked to have blood on their hungry maws, which was… definitely not a good sign at all.

“Oh, fuck me,” he grumbled before quickly plucking at his companion’s sleeve.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here!” he hissed; before the biggest Roaring Moon of the entire ‘herd’ saw them, and let out a bloodcurdling scream before launching themselves at the two humans and their hapless Pokémon companions…

Which then made all the other Roaring Moon follow suit!

Danger is sensed far before they see or hear it, Na'au's frightful squeaks giving him a few seconds to brace before she squeezes the life from his arm. Then comes her running, dragging him along, the Sylveon's pace being far faster than his own that she nearly causes him to trip over his own heels.[break][break]

"Easy, easy!" He yells, but it's hard to hear his voice over her cries and the endless roaring behind them. "You can slow them down!"[break][break]

Thankfully, she's at least got enough functional brain cells cooking within a panicked mind to process that, beginning to squeal even harder with a Disarming Voice. Several dragons seem to be deterred by it, but many more are determined to snatch up their next meal.[break][break]

Though he doesn't have an exact count, he's certain that the bloodlust behind him is indicative of forces far too big for the two of them to handle. And so he hops right through that slim hole they've created in the wall, yanking Lars right out and pointing a finger right towards the crack.[break][break]

"We gotta collapse it!"[break][break]

Not needing to be told twice, Na'au contributes a barrage of Moonblasts, all aimed at keeping the Roaring Moons from sticking their heads through the gap to snap at them.

The best that the Lucario can do from the ground is to fire orb after orb, after orb of Aura Sphere towards the Roaring Moons that are threatening their very existence.

(Hell, even in this low light those bloodstained maws are incredibly threatening… he could only guess what poor unfortunate soul/s may have found this place before them… or maybe there was a reason why they were supposed to stay hidden?!)

It doesn’t take too long for them to be quickly squeezing through the crack they’d come through (well, him mostly since his companion had already been in the passageway before he got there) and through sheer panic, he’d forced his way through with his Lucario taking up the rear.

The jackal Pokémon then helped the Sylveon collapse the crack in the wall; taking a few quick strikes of Meteor Mash-infused punches to crack the surrounding walls; before slamming what appeared to be a bloody maw that had managed to stick its head through with another.

Eventually, the Lucario then made it far enough away; before aiming Aura Sphere at the top of the ‘entrance’ of where they’d come in, collapsing the passageway…

And effectively wiping out what was supposed to be a way to get around Rocket lines. It was a shame too, considering the loss of valuable intel…
