Heaven knows he has neither. Sure, he could loan a Rotom from the rangers and it would make his life much easier. But all the paperwork that he would have to do... that just makes it unappealing.[break][break]

The ceilings droop pretty low but thankfully, he's of perfect height to stand without having to bend in the slightest.[break][break]

While he isn't quite bored - Heavens, can anyone be bored if asked to throw themselves into a big ass caves crawling with horrifying and unnatural creatures? - Emmett seems just about ready to throw in the towel and take his leave. How long will it take to map out this entire place? Can they even map it out considering how these tunnels must be constantly shifting and changing under the influence of strange earthquakes and dream mist?[break][break]

Oh, to be thoughtful enough to bring a mountable pokemon. Just when he thinks he'll have to do a walk of shame beside them, she offers him a chance to hop on.[break][break]

Despite Na'au nerves, she seems so at ease up on Nanghi's back. Perhaps, even amazed at just how far she can see and aspiring to one day be as large as her. A pipe dream, but a dream nonetheless.[break][break]

Emmett's question is what brings her back down to earth, chirping and cocking her head as she gives it a little thought. Then she begins to focus, closing her eyes as her ribbons sway in the wind. And eventually she perks up, looking back at him and pointing vaguely in a direction.

With how expertly she handles this one, a part of Emmett wonders if he could just... leave the rest to her and slink off for a little sightseeing. Hell, she'd done even better than he had when he first started. But the sharp squeal of his Sylveon alerts him to danger, many pairs of beady eyes now turned to them - From atop signboards and street lights, from those perches atop stands and those little spaces in between them.[break][break]

One growls, then another. Then another. To be denied a hearty meal is a sin, and this pointless resistance must be quelled.[break][break]

Why does he choose to continue resding in a region as crazy as Hoenn even after almost being obliterated by a meteorite? When he told himself that he needed to go and see the world, he's rather certain that this wasn't what he had in mind. Maybe, it's just because everything seems so fresh and intriguing in this region. Like some kind of addictive drug, he's hooked onto the mysteries of the world that surface with every passing day.[break][break]

Truth be told, Emmett doesn't quite get the hype surrounding these strange crystals. Be it necessary in their fight against Rocket or extraterrestrial threats, they simply have yet to understand the potential consequences of tapping into powers beyond their comprehension.[break][break]

Still, orders are orders. And he'd be damned if he's getting his paycheck slashed over an uncompleted job.[break][break]

"Don't you think it's weird?" A rough starter is what he needs to get conversation flowing, something to keep their minds occupied lest the paranoia sink in early. Over his shoulder, he can hear Moana using her Supersonic waves on the weaker crystals, chipping away at what she can as he takes a closer look at the chunks that they intend to bring back.[break][break]

A light jest seeks to break whatever ice might be left between them. In spite of their circumstances for meeting being slightly less unpleasant, Emmett remains acutely aware of all the heat and ashes that Mt Chimney emanates. And so too does the Sylveon by his side, the meek Na'au flicking her ears as she peers at Yuina with wide, worried eyes.[break][break]

"Every now and then, the Absols of this region act up. What with all the extradimensional threats and stuff happening..." Idle hands find solace in providing the Sylveon a good scratch behind the ears. his eyes trailing towards the forest's depth as he begins to lead the way.[break][break]

"Usually it's because they're overwhelmed by the lingering effects of those events, but it can't hurt to check if there's anything else that's making them antsy."
