In spite of her short comings in conflict in the recent events of the region, Yuina had been placed in a higher responsibility bracket of the Rangers Organization along with a handful of others, directly per ollie morales whom she had been working with. Was it merited? Maybe.... Was it deserved? She didn't feel like it... But could she refute it? She wasn't even going to try, that felt worse thanthinking she didn't deserve it in the first place...[break]
And so it was, more responsibility of course meant more goings on and more things to keep tabs on, and Yuina was quickly realizing that things in the region never really did settle down to a calm. There was always something.[break][break]
Now that she was in the rank that she was in, Yuina was going to be working more closely with other rangers for more intensive missions, which was why she'd made the trip up to Fallarbor Town to meet with emmett brookes. It was good to at least see them again without having to dodge bouts of lava and escape an errupting volcano.[break]
Coming down from the air on Rasza, Yuina made sure the landing was clear on the edge of town before dismounting the Charizard, and she found Emmett just up the road a bit.[break]
"Emmett, it's good to see you again," she nodded.[break][break]
"What's going on up here? The report said there's a handful of Absol that haven't been able to settle down," Yuina wondered, she'd at least done her research on the Pokemon, unfamiliar as she was, and it seemed odd that while there was a lot going on in the region as a whole, there wasn't anything presently right now going on, but the dark types were still unsettled and couldn't come to a calm.

"Yuina!" The bright smile that crosses his lips is all too telling. He's glad that he isn't handling this task alone. "Well... nothing as dramatic as dragons infesting yet another volcano? Hope you won't be too disappointed by the lack of death-defying experiences."[break][break]

A light jest seeks to break whatever ice might be left between them. In spite of their circumstances for meeting being slightly less unpleasant, Emmett remains acutely aware of all the heat and ashes that Mt Chimney emanates. And so too does the Sylveon by his side, the meek Na'au flicking her ears as she peers at Yuina with wide, worried eyes.[break][break]

"Every now and then, the Absols of this region act up. What with all the extradimensional threats and stuff happening..." Idle hands find solace in providing the Sylveon a good scratch behind the ears. his eyes trailing towards the forest's depth as he begins to lead the way.[break][break]

"Usually it's because they're overwhelmed by the lingering effects of those events, but it can't hurt to check if there's anything else that's making them antsy."

Moving up the path from her landing, Rasza trailing behind her, Yuina walked towards Emmett and couldn't help to return their bright smile as they greeted her. It was good to see them again, and she chuckled a bit at their jest of not having to face off against any death defying stunts. What a shame.[break]
"The volcano wasn't enough for you? I'm sure we can find something to test our mortality again," she joked back, it seemed really that there was no shortage of such events in the region, they likely wouldn't have to wait much longer for the next one.[break][break]
Emmett seemed familiar with the area, they spoke about the Absol that did usually react when there was something going on in the region, but at present, there hadn't been any widespread reports of catastrophe taking place. It seemed odd that they would be acting up this way.[break]
"Hmm, yeah that is strange. Are there a lot of Absol up here? Does it seem like all of them are on the same page about something," Yuina wondered, wanting to see how strong the collective feeling was among the dark types.

"Absol tend to gather where they sense disaster brewing. But this horde has been here ever since Team Rocket's invasion of the town years ago." Despite only being in Hoenn for the past 3 years, there's a lot that one can learn from perusing old incident files and newspapers. Right now, he's just glad that he isn't going into this case blind.[break][break]

"The people in town have been taking care of them all this time, said they're usually calm and content. Except that one time before Groudon showed up at Mount Chimney."

Emmett mused over the idea of more scars and more stories to add to the pile, though as inevitable as it might seem given their line of work, perhaps seeking out these things wasn't the best idea, for now.[break]
"Oh, well, that just sounds like you'll miss out on all the fun," Yuina mused back, looking out to the mountain side then as Emmett spoke of how the Absol in the area typically interacted and remained calm. It didn't sound like there was anything more that they could do except for start taking a look around?[break][break]
"I guess the only thing we can do is start making our way up there and see if there's anything amiss, huh," she returned, gesturing Rasza ahead, and the Charizard took back into the air to start scouting ahead of them while Yuina took to another one of her pokeballs. From its beam, Nanghi lumbered and huffed, flexing her trunk. Patting the elephant's shining hide, Yuina started to walk up her trunk to get on her back.[break]
"Maybe we won't get a scar out of this one if we're just doing some investigating," Yuina nodded, offering the ride to Emmett as well so they could start to make the trek up the mountain side.

Oh, to be thoughtful enough to bring a mountable pokemon. Just when he thinks he'll have to do a walk of shame beside them, she offers him a chance to hop on.[break][break]

Which he promptly takes.[break][break]

Because he's got stamina, but he sure is lazy to trek uphill.[break][break]

Despite Na'au nerves, she seems so at ease up on Nanghi's back. Perhaps, even amazed at just how far she can see and aspiring to one day be as large as her. A pipe dream, but a dream nonetheless.[break][break]

"Sense anything, Na'au?"[break][break]

Emmett's question is what brings her back down to earth, chirping and cocking her head as she gives it a little thought. Then she begins to focus, closing her eyes as her ribbons sway in the wind. And eventually she perks up, looking back at him and pointing vaguely in a direction.
