[attr="class","beckmain"]it almost becomes mindless by now: the way he lurks in the skies, hiding behind clouds while he waits for their next target that will inevitably come. they always do. such is the nature of war.

a little dreepy's QUICK ATTACK slams into the ex-head ranger while a venomth's SLEEP POWDER looks to send the metagross into a peaceful slumber.

far below them, the INTERDREAM MIST awaits.

At least one of them was paying attention; before a sudden shadow darted and immediately slammed into the side of Lars’s head; making him look up and flinch because holy shit that was fucking painful!

“Ro,” he hissed as he tasted blood in his mouth from the impact to the side of his head. “You know what to do!”

A sudden Telekinetic burst from the silver Metagross emanated around them; as the dual-type’s Psychic powers came into play; enveloping them in a sphere of energy; an attempt to repel the powder that was thrown their way.

“So that’s how you want to fight, huh,” he continued quietly as he quickly fished around for a random Pokéball and threw it forward; blinking in surprise as he saw a Glalie expand from the second red beam before immediately throwing several Ice Shards at the little Dreepy.

Glalie used Ice Shard on Dreepy!
Metagross used Telekinesis as an attempt to repel the incoming Sleep Powder!

[attr="class","beckmain"]ICE SHARDS would have decimated the little dreepy had it not been for its SUCKER PUNCH. it closes the distance immediately, avoiding the attack with ease as it throws a punch at the glalie.

with the SLEEP POWDER repelled, venomoth switches to a PSYBEAM as they focus fire the glalie.

“Keep us up,” he continued as he knocked exactly once on the shining silver beast’s ‘top’, hanging on for dear deer fucking life while they tried to stay in mid-air.

All thought of resting had been erased from his mind the moment he noticed that the two other Pokémon that were trying to attack the Glalie and leaving his Metagross alone.

Par for the course, though, the Glalie then snapped back and began dropping large Icicles that would try to Crash down on either the Dreepy, or the Venomoth—while the Metagross would provide covering fire from the side with a surprise Rock Slide!

Two on one wasn’t really fair odds; considering how the Glalie had gotten struck by the Dreepy’s attack—but managed to barely sideswipe out of the Venomoth’s way.

Glalie used Icicle Shard on either Dreepy or Venomoth while taking the hit from the smaller opponent!
Metagross used Rock Slide to back up the Glalie being attacked from two opposite directions at once!

[attr="class","beckmain"]with his resources depleted, there's nothing he can do to save dreepy from the ICICLE CRASH that pierces right through it. the ghost-dragon fades away into the ether, but it is soon replaced by another dragon that MEGA EVOLVES and lets loose a FLAMETHROWER at the glalie.

that leaves venomoth and theo on their own to contend with the ROCK SLIDE. he tugs at the bug, redirecting it enough to avoid being slammed by massive chunks.

PSYBEAM continues pulsing away at the glalie.

All it would take is for the previous Icicle Crash attack to take out the little Dreepy; though in the heat of the battle he doesn’t realize that he’s done it again—and by that it simply means he’s killed another Pokémon.

What replaces the Dreepy, though, makes his Glalie stare down, extremely unimpressed, as the Mega-evolved Salamence roars in their general direction before a burst of flames comes flying straight at them!

“Hang on, just—hang on!” he said through gritted teeth as he heard his Glalie screaming over the extremely hot peppering flames as well as getting hammered by the Venomoth’s attack; although they were not going to give up the ghost just yet, oh no, before they charged through the pain and attempted to drop down a close-quarters Blizzard burst on top of the Salamence.

Holding on for dear deer fucking life, the Metagross then charged forward as well, murderous intent clear on his face as the shining silver beast lashed out in the Salamence’s direction with a Dragon Hammer attack!

Glalie used Blizzard on the mega-evolved Salamence while fighting through the Flamethrower and the Psybeam!
Metagross used Dragon Hammer aimed at the mega-evolved Salamence to back up the Glalie!

[attr="class","beckmain"]the BLIZZARD would have been effective but it's the power of MEGA EVOLUTION that renders it ineffective. it pales in comparison to the FLAMETHROWER, sizzling away as the flames engulf the ice-type whole, swallowing it and taking its life.

venomoth swoops up to take the DRAGON HAMMER in salamence's place, fainting as a result only to be recalled back into its pokeball in time.

The icicles coming from the Blizzard melt as the Glalie went straight into the flames; the loud screeching noise getting snuffed out as the Fire-type attack incinerated the life out of the Ice-type; rendering the Psybeam useless as it strikes the shell of the extinguished Glalie before he can recall the fallen Pokémon.

Well, one for one… he thought bitterly as he recalled the Glalie before he could get his ass bucked off the Metagross’s back due to the Dragon Hammer immediately hitting the Venomoth and knocking that one out.

Okay, at least that was one… problem down.

“Tch,” he mimicked unknowingly as he gently shook the Glalie’s Pokéball, but got no answer. Also, why was the Pokéball lighter than normal…?

Oh, fuck.

This was all before he realized that—even though the Metagross could unleash bloody murder on the Salamence, he knocked exactly once on the silver beast’s head; before tilting his head in another direction.

“Not today, Ro… another time.”

[attr="class","beckmain"]before he can give chase and rid the league of one of their finest, the INTERDREAM MIST cuts in, hindering his vision enough that he loses sight of the head ranger.

with the fading of salamence's MEGA EVOLUTION, he decides it best to leave it be and to conserve his resources. so, he makes his way out and away.
