tall, pretty, and elegant. stands at 5'11.7" / 182 cm.
outfits and style oscillate between dressy-casual, cold-winter casual, and minimalist academia. which all translates to: sweaters, jackets, coats, slacks, blazers, dress shirts, cloaks, cardigans, etc. as a researcher he can also be found wearing a lab coat now and then. naturally runs cold, so even in hoenn's climate, finds himself gravitating towards sleeves. while he has a graceful and luxurious approach towards his outer appearance, secretly gears towards comfy fits if he can.
hair is a blue-gray color, that depending on the light, can look more blue than gray, and vice versa. his fringe is shorter and falls into his face, while longer strands fall around the nape of his neck. eyes are long-lashed (with the bottom lashes noticeably longer than the top ones) and peculiar in color, as they are predominantly blue but can shift to green and any color in between, as well. it varies on the light, and sometimes his mood.

in lacunosa town, there'd been a tradition: an unspoken rule about the way the world is, an unbreakable standard that all must adhere to. [break][break]

to hide from the shadows, to stay quiet in the night, to hush your lips and cover your eyes lest a monster of unspeakable terror and freezing ice come punish you instead. [break][break]

so needless to say, it'd been a tiring life, and an exhausting one. (did he imagine falling into a crevice when he was younger? or hallucinate an icy chill that hit him straight through the bone?) when cain is barely six years old, his family moves from lacunosa town in unova, to artazon in paldea. they return to his mother's hometown, where the sun shines brightly and sunfloras wander the streets happily. his icy heart thaws in no time. he grows up alongside a beloved friend, and forms an interest in studying life, whether it's people, pokemon, plants, or anything else living on their planet. he also learns to love battling, becoming a paldean champion-ranked trainer after completing the victory road path. [break][break]

several years plus a successful career as a pokemon researcher later, and a new idea spurs him to life. in search of new discoveries, cain sets his sights on a particular region, one filled with all sorts of phenomena and secrets to discover. sure, it might be dangerous, and it might even be stupid, but it could also be fun. life is an endless stretch into the cold morning horizon, and cain follows the light of opportunity all the way to hoenn, wide awake. [break][break]

his family consists of himself, an older brother, and their parents. while his family was never outwardly cruel towards him, his parents and brother were both preoccupied with work, oftentimes neglecting cain as a child. he is closer to the family of his childhood friend in paldea, rather than his own.
a pokemon researcher! he is interested in a little bit of everything, but definitely has an interest in pokemon biology and evolution, as well as general biology and chemistry!
favors ice and dark types, as well as water, dragon, and ghost types. doesn't dislike any type of pokemon, and in fact he makes it a point of befriending as many pokemon as possible, for research reasons!
chantilly the frosmoth is his lifelong partner and pokemon best friend! she was a wee snom he met as a child, and now she's his irreplaceable partner and team-mother to the other pokemon. his other starter pokemon are babies hatched from cain's original team mons, most of who are living either in cain's paldean laboratory, or stored away safely in his pc.
he may be a researcher, but cain is naturally competitive, and wants to excel as a battler, as well. one of his goals is to defeat the hoenn gyms and league!
has a witty sense of humor and is good-spirited! though his veneer of elegance gives off the impression that he's unapproachable or haughty, the truth is that he's quite friendly. the literal embodiment of :)c
