cotton ball was hatched alongside anna's altaria, cotton ball, making them siblings, though not many would think as much as cotton ball is the smallest of the batch. though not dane's first pokemon, dane is most fond of cotton ball as it's a doting and affectionate pokemon, arguably the most out of his team.

lugh was found as a dried-up cacnea, shriveled up and dying at the lake of rage. dane saved it, nursed it back to health with the helpful tutelage of the town healer, and has since raised it into a cacturne, training it and evolving it within a span of a month. dane favors lugh for rocket-related activities, making the cacturne his partner in crime.
