A RUINED CITY IN ULTRA SPACE. It is unclear whether this is a different universe's Ultra Megalopolis or smaller colony. Regardless, it is a dark city with intermittent sections of flickering, artificial light... Large, black prism-like skyscrapers loom above flat black streets. Oscar whistled as he took in the ruined cityscape, glass cracking under his boots as he leisurely moved forward. "I can see why the Megalopolans left now, this place is fucked." The futuristic wasteland was as beautiful as it was disturbing; it just goes to show that it does not matter how advanced a civilization is, doom can befall them all the same. It was a miracle that Hoenn has lasted as long as it had.

As every one of his steps was announced by cracking glass, Oscar would grow curious and look downward. "Oh shit." He would say with mild amusement. He was not stepping on glass after all, but rather an endless sea of dully colored crystals stuck within the pavement. He bent down to have a closer look, and upon realizing that they were seemingly dead Z-crystals Oscar would let out a harsh chuckle. "Alright this place is beyond fucked. This is some post-Post-apocalypse shit. Really pretty though."

Oscar stood up and dusted his hands off, reluctant to move forward without some input from his companion. He has only worked with fern delaney once long ago, way before his promotion to admin. When the opportunity to work with Mister Delaney reappeared, Oscar was more than a little excited--even if he probably was not the first choice. He knew Fern was looking for something, but he still was not sure what.

"So what's our next step? Do you have a first destination in mind or are we wandering blindly? I'm down for either."

[“Mm.” Fern hummed in agreement. “There are still some around, I think you’ll find.” Their foot kicked away a bit of rubble in their path. Blue eyes cut toward Oscar–mischievous. “Though they’re not exactly in their right minds.” It was a curious place. One that drew Fern in more than other rifts had. Though Fern figured that was to do with the shard that had detonated and opened the doorway.[break][break]
And Tapu Koko.[break][break]
The island deity floated along with them now, restless as it often was whenever they returned.[break][break]
Fern fell into amused quiet as Oscar’s attention deviated. Stooping, they gathered a few of the ineffective z-crystals and offered them to Tapu Koko. They were swiftly rejected–apparently these were not as appealing as the primal shard had been. “There’s always a sort of beauty in destruction, don’t you think?” they ask by way of reply.[break][break]
“Wandering blindly,” they add after a beat as they move forward again. “There’s no real guideline I have. No template. Just looking for what this one reacts to.” Their head nods to their patron.[break][break]
The familiar shape of a z-crystal is splayed across the front of a machine lined up against a shattered storefront. Fern peered curiously at it and then plunked one of the z-crystals they’d been holding into the slot. It promptly spit out a…beverage?[break][break]
“Huh.” Fern bent to collect the bottle, “how ‘bout that.” Cracking the lid, they took a sniff and then glanced Oscar’s way. “Bottoms up?”[break][break]
