A school trip had been arranged to Dewford and Knight had signed up immediately. It was rare he got a chance to travel around Hoenn so when the school offered to take them places, he didn't refuse. Luckily, since his school was based in Slateport, it was easy for them to travel to somewhere like Dewford.[break][break]
They were given a free day to do whatever they liked, and Kay had found himself wandering towards Granite Cave. There was a sign-up encouraging trainers to help protect the miners from wild Pokémon if possible, and to warn civilians away from excavating rocks themselves. Of course, Knight knew this didn't stop a lot of people.[break][break]
He hesitated at the entrance of the cave and watched as a few people headed out again. They seemed to have had a good time in the cave and were chatting excitedly about their morning. Inspired by this, Knight charged ahead -- until he walked right into someone. He forgot how dark caves could get at times, despite the lights set up at intervals.[break][break]
It was in one of the lightless spots that he had collided with someone, "Oops, sorry! Are you okay?"
