He was assigned to guard dog duty, watching from the top of the crater for potential league ships sailing by trying to scout them.[break][break]

However, it was a peaceful job so he accepted it. He sat his happy ass next to a small light that wouldn't reveal themselves to nearby ships and crap like that. He plopped his happy ass down and chugged a bear as he awaited for the person he was assigned to this watch duty with. Aris van der Veld, a name he was not familiar with.

Great. The one day that he gets off in a week from running a club, he gets called in for guard duty at the crater with some guy named Bryan. [break][break]

This might be payback for talking back to Cillian the other day, or it's possible that Rocket simply doesn't care about the wellness of their employees, but whatever the reason is, Aris arrives at the location with his Houndour following in his wake and a shadow hanging over his face.[break][break]

He arrives late on purpose; ideally, he wouldn't show up at all, but he senses he's on thin ice with the higher-ups already. Aris glances around at the spot he had been instructed to arrive at and notices the figure of a man slumped over on the ground with a beer in hand. Aris rubs the frown off of his face and replaces it with an effortless smile before striding towards the person and stopping behind him.[break][break]

"Yup." he replies as he takes another swig. "You the grunt that's guarding with me?" he asks as bryan knew almost all of the grunts already. [break][break]

Was this someone he hadn't really noticed yet? He didn't really blame Aris, when one was riding the high of being a god's chosen he didn't pay attention to those who were replaceable[break][break]

Yet but where did that leave him? Someone who had it all and lost it all. He had to stop those thoughts from persisting as he needed to form connections with others to secure his spot as a beast. "You got a name bud? Come sit for a bit." He stares out towards the horizon but hands him a bottle.

"Yup." Unfortunately. Aris can't recall ever meeting Bryan, but it's not surprising; for the past couple of years, he's barely shown up at HQ since the club takes up most of his time, and to be quite frank, he's not complaining. As a grunt, managing Icarus gives him a sense of privacy and freedom that is otherwise difficult to attain in his position. [break][break]

Bryan doesn't seem too bad, though, and the sight of the offered beer works to lift his spirits. Hopefully, this shift will go by uneventfully. [break][break]

Aris takes the bottle in hand and seats himself next to the man, one leg propped up and bent at the knee. Nalia sits beside him, vigilant as always. "Aris. Don't think we've met before." He takes a sip of beer before placing the bottle down and offering a hand for a shake.[break]

"Probably for good reason you don't recognize me." he says as Bryan takes another swig of his drink. [break][break]

"If you knew my face chances were I was sent to handle you. I'm a beast, the enforcers of rocket. I keep grunts who get too big for their britches, try to leave, et cetera." he says as he looks at the bottle and realizes it's empty. [break][break]

He stands up and cranks back his arm and throws it as hard as he possible can, it shatters in mid air from the force. His body still had it, even though he was no longer an avatar he at least got to keep his super strength.
