The Ribombee begun spinning in mid-air, a delighted hum escaping her as Florain readily accepted the sweet treat—asides from Alexei himself, nobody else had the chance to try the little Pokémon’s treat. She was always worried that they were on the sweet side, but thankfully no adverse reaction seemed to be coming from the other human.[break][break]

Taking a little curtsy in mid-air, she flits back to where Alexei is, who had just managed to get his bearings all straight. Once he heard the familiar little humming, he pondered if it was a good idea to recall Carina back into her containment unit, but decided against it for the time being.[break][break]

Who knows where the naughty little Cutiefly would flit off to next?[break][break]

“We’re already headed in that direction, let’s keep going. Once we enter the park I’ll show you around. And make sure to keep an eye on your Abeille! There’s so many other flower patches there she might decide to commandeer one of them for herself,” he continued with a chuckle.[break][break]

He then felt a feather-light touch settle somewhere near his ear, and heard a melodic humming not too long after.[break][break]

“Really, Carina? Well, if that’s what you want,” he added a few moments later, chuckling as he let the Ribombee settle down there for their trip to the park.

Florian's always been a fan of fairy-types, and Carina is a perfect example of why. They're just so sweet and eager to please! There would always be a few bad apples in the bunch, but nothing could take away from the bond he shared with Pokemon like his Joli and Abeille.[break][break]

"I'm not letting her out of my sight," Florian reassures Alexei. "One heart attack is enough for today!"[break][break]

Thankfully, Abeille seems content to stick with Florian under the promise of seeding a new garden, settling down in the fur between his Sylveon's ears and making Joli go cross-eyed trying to look up at her. It's a sight as ridiculous as it is adorable.[break][break]

"Is that the park?" Florian guesses, gesturing. He can already detect a floral aroma in the air, and he hears a faint-but-excited buzzing from Abeille's direction. "It looks lovely, even from here!"

He chuckled at the sight of the little Cutiefly settling down on the Sylveon’s ears, and the resulting look made the chuckle erupt into an unintentional guffaw—how adorkable the sight was![break][break]

“Your Sylveon should meet mine,” he remarked in an off-hand manner as he led the way. “She’s completely nuts. But absolutely wants cuddles. She will. Not. Stop. Until she gets her well-deserved cuddles,” he shared, shaking in silent mirth at the mention of his own Sylveon, Dysha.[break][break]

“Most of the time she runs around the back with the rest of my Pokémon, always wanting to be cuddled. Are Sylveon really that cuddly?” he inquired, seeing as Florian had one—why not best ask someone who has the same Pokémon companion for advice on how to take care of them?[break][break]

Eventually, they arrive at the park.[break][break]

The sight of all the flowers in bloom is more than enough to set any Bug-type (even Grass-type) into a tizzy, especially if they were Combee or Cutiefly. So many pretty flowers in various multicolor shades decorated the grassy areas of the park, and the rising aroma was enough to make any honey-sipping Pokémon’s head spin.[break][break]

“Carina, I know you want to go bananas, but we’re here for another reason,” he explained, watching as the Ribombee alighted from her position and began humming around the patches, doing some kind of mid-air dance. “I’m so sorry, she’s just… some of these patches she tended herself before, and—“ he explained in Florian’s direction.[break][break]

“You could say she’s very proud of them,” he added a few moments later, sheepish grin on his face as the Ribombee flitted around and spiraled in mid-air, very happy at the sight of all the flowers in bloom.

can't wait for Joli to meet the spaz

"Ah, you have one as well?" Florian sounds delighted at the thought. While he was fond of all Pokemon in the Eevee family, Sylveon was undoubtedly (and unsurprisingly) his favourite. "I would love to meet her! And, ah, I'm sure Joli would as well."[break][break]

His Sylveon looks up at the sound of his name and flicks his ears, disturbing the Cutiefly that had settled in between them. She reprimands him with a sharp buzz, and Joli's retaliating trill is full of mischief.[break][break]

"I do not know if all Sylveon are so affectionate, but those I've met certainly are!" He'd met quite a few during his research, though Joli was the only Sylveon he'd gotten to know over a long period of time. Of his companion, he says, "I never sleep alone thanks to this one."[break][break]

It had been that way since he was an Eevee; the presence of his partner Pokemon had been a blessing during the nights where he'd wake up from nightmares in a cold sweat, shaking and unaware of where he was. Now he enjoyed the presence of his Sylveon no matter how sweet his dreams![break][break]

The aroma of flowers that permeates the air is pleasant, even more so for his Cutiefly — she takes off from her perch atop Joli's head and joins Carina in her excited aerial performance. Shaking his head with a mixture of fondness and exasperation, Florian releases a Comfey from its pokeball and gestures toward the little bug.[break][break]

"Keep an eye on Abeille, please? I don't want her wandering off in her excitement and getting lost again."[break][break]

The Comfey gives a little chirp of confirmation before drifting over a patch of flowers to pluck one and add them to her vine.[break][break]

"Oh," Florian murmurs. "Is it all right if she does that? It doesn't harm the plant!" Even as he speaks, the red flower Jonquille had chosen brightens up and emits a tantalizing scent. "She gets anxious if she doesn't find new flowers every now and again, and there hasn't been much chance since the move!"

“Yes, I have one of my own. Everyone at the Sanctuary calls her ‘Spaz’ even if she has an actual nickname,” he shared with a chuckle. “She’s always running around the place. Hyped up on sugar. Do Pokémon even have sugar rushes?” he pondered, wondering if that was even possible.[break][break]

He had a really energetic Sylveon, that’s for sure.[break][break]

He lets out a chuckle as Carina continues to dance around in mid-air, humming happily at the sight of all the flowers in bloom. “She’s very proud of them. I mean, look at her,” he went on, tilting his head in the direction of the Ribombee who was slowly, lazily waltzing through the air and touching the flowers as lightly as she could. Checking up on them, seeing that they were doing just fine.[break][break]

His eyes follow Florian’s other Pokémon, and for a moment he has to do a double-take—wait, isn’t that a bunch of…? His eyes, as well as Carina’s, almost bug out in alarm as they watch the Comfey take one of the red flowers—however instead of it wilting, it seemed to gain even more life in the flower crown’s hands.[break][break]

“As long as it’s not too noticeable,” Alexei said presently, unable to resist chuckling at the sight of Carina flitting over and poking at the now-empty branch where the flower used to be.[break][break]

“Carina, it’ll be okay, don’t worry about it,” he said in the Ribombee’s direction, hoping that she would calm down. She was overprotective with the flowers, who could blame her?[break][break]

“Alright, give me a few moments,” he continued in Florian’s direction as he took out his phone again and sent another text message. “They’ll be heading out here,” he added as he saw a few messages slide into his Inbox and reading them as they waited.

Sensing the Ribombee's alarm at having one of her precious flowers plucked from its stem, the tiny Pokemon with its ring of flowers drifts along the breeze toward the little bug. In an attempt to soothe, she holds out the flourishing red flower and tilts her head. It's as if she's saying, "Look, it's all right! The flower is blooming beautifully!"

"They're natural healers," Florian informs Alexei, looking fondly at his Comfey. "She is wonderful at aromatherapy. I don't know how she does it, but..."

He's always delighted to head out into the garden when Jonquille is around. Joli might have been his only support Pokemon that was registered and documented, but the Comfey's aromatherapy worked wonders to alleviate stress and anxiety as well.

The professor nods when he's told to wait, settling down on a nearby park bench and watching their Pokemon flit around the flower beds. Joli jumps up and curls in Florian's lap, kneading him like a cat. His large ears brush at Florian's chin and he giggles, ticklish.

Could you blame the Ribombee for going bananas at the sight of the flower being plucked from its stem? She was motherly to all the patches in the gardens at the park, because Alexei had let her run free while the park was being re-landscaped and replanted.[break][break]

Thankfully, she understood what the Comfey was conveying her way. Letting out a little sigh, she poked the bright red flower, before gently nudging the other Pokémon in a way that had her body language saying, ‘Do take care of that little bloom for me, alright?’ before flitting over to check on the rest of the blooming flowers.[break][break]

Everything was so pretty.[break][break]

In no time flat, the people that they were waiting for emerged—a couple of park staff, one of them dwarfed by a large box they were trying to keep ahold of. Alexei’s eyes widened at the size of said box, before looking at Florian and trying to hold down his laughter.[break][break]

“Well… guess you’re going to have quite the garden,” he enthused as he tilted his head in the direction of the oncoming park staff, both of them taking turns holding up the sizable box that contained all manner of flower seeds.

Florian's distracted by watching the interaction between Carina and Jonquille, and it's not until Alexei speaks that the young professor turns his head toward the direction he's looking.[break][break]

"O-Oh... that's..."[break][break]

He doesn't think he's ever seen that many seeds outside of a gardening store. It seemed that 'as much as they could spare' was quite a lot. Florian can't help but feel a little guilty, like he's taking advantage of their kindness, but it's mingled with his excitement at the idea of planting a colourful garden for his beloved Pokemon.[break][break]

"There is only a small problem I forsee," Florian admits, laughing nervously. "How am I to carry it home?"[break][break]

He lived all the way in Verdanturf!

Once the box was settled down at their feet, Alexei gave them a very sheepish, borderline embarrassed expression.[break][break]

“That’s quite a lot,” he mused, to which he got the reply, “Well you said ‘as much as we can spare’! We have so many, we’re practically drowning in them! Please spread the flowers around the region,” before the two looked over at Florian and then noticed the Comfey.[break][break]

“If you have a Cutiefly, plant them where they can fuss over the flowers. His Carina literally didn’t allow anyone else to touch several patches of flowers when they started blooming. Who knew that Cutiefly were territorial when it came to their flowers?” one of the two joked, before gesturing at the box. “Quite a selection you have in there waiting for you—“[break][break]

“Thanks for bringing this much out, I’m sure he’ll love planting all of these where he lives!” Alexei covered over the two. For some reason his ears were starting to light up with blush and set themselves on fire, and he wanted to avoid being teased out in public.[break][break]

Turning to Florian, a grin crossed his face.[break][break]

“Oh—that’s easy. I can help you carry this home. I have several Flying-types who can help with the trip, if you don’t mind?” he offered.

Florian giggles at the teasing comments of the two, performing a mock salute. "I will do my best to spread them wherever I can! Merci beaucoup — that is, t-thank you, I mean!"[break][break]

He flushes, having reverted back to Kalosian in his excitement. Florian certainly knew of Cutiefly and their obsession with flowers, but he nods along politely all the same.[break][break]

When a ride is offered, his cheeks burn redder still. "O-Oh... a-are you... are you sure? I have already imposed upon so much of your time and patience already, and I'm sure I could figure something out..." He trails off, admittedly struggling to think of an easier solution. He didn't drive and while he could take public transport, the convenience of a direct flight could not be argued against. "You will at least let me repay you, no?"

“Gee, you two, always out to tease me huh?” he cheeked the two park officials, who cracked the sneakiest of smirks before looking between the two. The implications become clear to Alexei a moment later, and his ears light up even more—not only that, even Florian reacted with a deepening blush![break][break]

“G-give me a moment,” Alexei stammered as he quickly fished out his phone and sent the two in front of him a message practically screeching, ‘He’s not my boyfriend!!!’ before quickly pocketing it. The two then fished out their phones, before reading the singular message that he had sent them—and they both burst out into hearty guffaws.[break][break]

“We’ll be going back now, have fun!” they called out, teasing in a good-natured tone as they turned around and left Alexei with Florian, blushing and basically a hot mess. Both of them were hot messes at that moment.[break][break]

“N-no need to pay, I-I mean, the flowers… they’re payment enough,” he stammered out, his eyes shyly looking over where Florian stood. Ah, shit. His ears were still on fire and he didn’t know how to make it stop.[break][break]

“Consider the-the ride free. I mean it,” he continued, words getting all jumbled around the other man.[break][break]

Oh, Arceus, why did his ears have to keep burning red! What the fresh hell, why were they not calm?!
