"partner underway..." partner? as she stood in the colosseum with a neutral expression. she wondered as to who that said partner were. she'd search for some sign of materialization or await for someone to enter through the colosseum doors. so far there was no one. would she be learning to play on her own? that's fine, cadis--or rather mai--was excited nonetheless. this game was all the rage right now and he had a little downtime, so why not have some fun?

dagger in hand. he'd casually twirl it in wait of his tutorial partner. since when did mmo's have such a feature, and when did they make you wait for some "tutorial partner"? this game was strange, then again it was rare he played them.

Alec had loved video games! and now, he was actually in one! He even was able to customize his appearance for this momentous occasion, however, those who might be in the game that knew him would be rather shocked to see his demonic form that had took on. Most of his body did look Human, however the boy's skin was as black as coal, his hair white as snow, and his eyes were now a crimson red color. Funny enough, when he plays games like this, he usually takes on a Villainous role, however in reality, he was actually a very good guy. But, since this was a Game, Alec figured that personifying his role would be more appealing. Yeah, it might seem 'over the top', but who would really care? After all, it's just a game. It's not like you would actually hurt yourself! ... Right?[break][break]

As Alec had entered the Colosseum, he would wear a devilish smirk which only complimented his in-game features even more. His black cape flowed behind him as he casually walked inside. He immediately spotted another player who had probably taken on the tutorial for the game's mechanics as well. [break][break]

Alec didn't really have the patience for Tutorials normally, however Alec figured that since this was a virtual reality based game, he might get some actual in-game awards for participating in the Tutorial. "I take it you're here for the Tutorial here as well?" Alec had asked, his voice still sounding the same in real life, however he said it in a more serious tone, befitting his role. He wouldn't admit it, but Alec was such a nerd when it comes to this stuff. [break][break]

"mm," a nod given, "i'm a newco---" he'd come to touch his throat. a feminine voice had been bestowed unto him, perhaps due to his chosen gender. it would seem he'd have to play a role. so, with a soft smile and a slight tilt of the head, she would greet the male like so. "i hope you'll carry me as we work together during this tutorial." with his arrival it was time for the game to begin.

the sound of a horn was heard. before the pair did two creatures spawn before them. "is this the part where we fight ourselves instead of sending out animal companions at our behest?" she inquired very specifically.

Alec had raised an eyebrow, seeing that the woman had stopped abruptly just as soon as she had spoke. Alec did not know the reason for that, however, that was probably a very personal question to be asking, so he figured he would let it be. He didn't wanna be kicked out of an awesome game like this all because he was rude to another player. That would suck. [break][break]

"Likewise. I've blade games like this before ... well, sort of, but it's still new to me, since it's virtual reality and all that, so there are even things I don't fully understand, or ... not yet at least," Alec had said flashing a smirk at the woman. He pulled out his wand ready to begin the tutorial with her. [break][break]

"How about we start with some basic combat? If you want, you can go first," Alec said, being nice ... just this once. Since his character in the game is supposed to be bad, he figured he'd play the part, however since this was just the tutorial, being out of character was okay in his opinion, or at least for now. "Since you're a rogue, judging by your knife, your trade skill is subterfuge when dealing with your Opponent. It's actually a nifty class to have, especially if you're dealing with a powerful opponent or a boss, even." Alec had stated. "It may not seem like it since your character is a dps style class, but your trademarks in combat can be rather valuable when fighting, even if you are alone, as long as you know what you're doing of course." Alec had said, explaining to her about her job. He wasn't really sure if she did know that or not, but he figured being helpful in this tutorial would be beneficial to him in the long run as well. [break][break]

"For example, you may have an ability that may slow someone down, or effect them stat-wise. Since I'm a Mage, I can do that with some Magic-based attacks, however you would rather quicker on your feet, given your class, believe it or not. Go ahead and try to attack me with one of your skill. we'll be going back and forth doing the same thing so that way the both of us can get a better feel of what we can do with our abilities. Does that alright with you? Alec asked her, having a playful grin on his face. [break][break]

so he was just going to ignore the creatures standing before them. she could only guess that this was a tutorial where they could do as much as they pleased. as long as they learned and left. "alright then..." so he wanted her to use a skill. upon the interface did choices manifest. there were only three. she would choose one: PIN MISSILE.

automatically she would sling three sharp-edged senbons from her sleeves. where did they come from? hell if she knew. they were just there. so without warning the player would come to have three metallic needles lunged their way.

Alec had a reason for not bringing up the creatures that had materialized before them just yet. They were more than likely tamed, so them attacking us right from the start was not in their programming. However, if Alec and his female partner were to attack them, then they probably would begin to move and attack them as well, however, they stayed still as well as silent, watching them carefully. [break][break]

Alec had smirked with anticipation as the woman obliged him, beginning to use Pin Missle on him, unleashing a flurry of Senbon at him. Alec had to just take the flurry of needles, rather than defend. The reason why was because of their prior agreement. After all, this wasn't an actual battle, and most of magic spells were designed that way as well as in many different ways on top of that. As the flurry of senbon had struck him. Alec had felt a very dull pain, however it wasn't excruciatingly painful. Alec figures this was just the way the game was set up. Hopefully there wasn't a setting that would make attacks more painful than they are now, but ... then again, he was supposed to be a bad guy. But, this wasn't the time nor the place to show that. Not yet, at least. [break][break]

"Good. and now, I'll give it a whirl," Alec had said, flicking his wand jaggedly, already knowing which one of his spells to use without pulling up his own interface. Luckily for him, he had already looked into his abilities long beforehand, so now all he had to do was to actually start using them. [break][break]

However, Alec had figured that since they were in a tutorial, status ailments like freezing wouldn't necessarily work on them, so he figured it'd be rather safe to use for the tutorial. [break][break]

"Well, I think we already got basic attacking down with our own classes. Do you have a move that inflicts a debuff or status ailment? If so, we can move on to that next. Once we do that, we can with things one and two over there," Alec said, nonchalantly gesturing to the creatures that had continued to stay still as well as silent. [break][break]
